The screenshot on the left is from The Descent, and the one on the right is my film,
Disconnected. In our group, we liked the idea of friends having a picture as part of
the equilibrium at the start of the film, so we used this idea.

2. Develop
Different actors
Although we used the idea of the photo from The Descent, we developed the idea by
using different actors. In The Descent, the actors are all female, whereas on ours, we
have two males and two females.

3. Challenge

We have completely challenged this idea by making ours in colour but with a slight
effect on it called ‘Dream’ whereas the one from The Descent, is black and white.

4. Use
In twilight, there is a scene where the character is researching (on the left) and we really
liked the idea, especially seen as though our main character is missing, which gives a
mystery edge to the film, we thought it would be good to have one of the characters
research it.

5. develop
We used the idea of researching on the computer from Twilight but we then developed
this idea by using a high key lighting instead of low key lighting like the shot from Twilight.

6. Develop
In the film Wrong Turn, we liked the headings, so we decided to copy the idea but
change the font and colour. We found this in quite a few other horror films, most of
which had the same kind of fonts and colour scheme.

7. Challenge
We come up of the idea of having shots of this actor in Sci-Fi effect, which give the
film a dark edge. We also used a handheld camera for the parts which had this actor
in it.
