2. For my planning and research there was a few different media
terminologies I looked at which helped me through the different
stages. For the research stage of my film poster I needed to look at
existing ones to get a feel of what it should eventually look like. As
you can see there is a few existing horror film posters on the left
that I followed as part of my researching and I found them on
google which was quick and easy however there was a lot of them
and it was hard to try and narrow it down. As part of my planning
stages in advance I had a go on a few different editing websites
such as pic monkey, pixlr as you can see screenshots on the left.
By doing these in advance it made it easier for when I was going to
edit my final picture I knew which website worked best for me so I
could just get on with it. The editing website I used in the end was
pixlr it was quick and easy to pick up however I did have problems
when it came to saving my work it didn’t save at a very good
quality so I had to try print screen it and then crop it, apart from
that this was a very useful technology I used. For my film review
page I used the same editing websites to edit my images for it but
I also used the programme publisher. I found publisher useful for
what I needed to do however there was no way if I was doing
something a lot more advanced I would use it. Everything on it is
limited and there isn’t a lot of choice. Also when I was uploading
my review page it cut half of it off and I didn’t have my full text so
then I had to start again.

3. There are a few more media technologies I used in the construction and
evaluation part of my short film. To film my short film the pictures on the
left are the main things I used. I used a mini video camera which I borrowed
from school, this was very useful and of a good quality however the only
problem was there wasn’t a lot of memory on it so we were limited with
how much we could film. As we done a lot of filming outside lighting was a
big thing for us that we had to get right so therefore we bought some light
reflectors in which you reflect to get the right lighting. In a part of our film
we used the green screen so we could add in a news background and make
it look more professional and whilst doing this we used the media lights in
the media studio. These lights looked good on camera however when we
uploaded the film to the MAC there was a reflection which meant the
background didn’t sit well there was a random white patch on it. Because of
this we then had to re film it and didn’t use the lights. When we were
editing our film we wanted to use a specific colour correction to add on to
the knife of the killer and have the knife red but not the whole scene. This
took us forever to try and figure it out, even after watching some you tube
videos and in the end we managed to add it on but not how we imagined it
would look. This was a downfall with using the macs as it meant that we
had to spend a lot more time on doing little things like that. The tripod was
useful for when we didn’t want it looking like a hand held camera however
we discovered a fault after filming everything, the tripod had broke so was
slightly slanted to the right and it looked noticeable on the MAC. We didn’t
have time to film this again so we had to leave it and we added some effects
on the MAC to hide it.
