IPC Media
IPC media is a company that produces
over 60 media brands. IPC Media tend to
focus on three core target audiences;
 Men-Usually young adults aged 18-25.
 mass market women-Young adults, aged
  16-25.
 upmarket women-Female adults, aged
  25-35.
IPC Media
For their male target audience they produce lots of
leisure brands such as Country Life, Horse & Hound
and Rugby World. They also produce lifestyle brands
for men, such as Nuts, Mousebreaker and NME. Their
mass market women‟s magazines comprise of Look,
Now, Chat and Woman. They also produce TV
entertainment brands like What‟s on TV, TV Times
and Satellite Week. For upmarket women, they
produce magazines such as Marie Claire and InStyle.
They also produce lifestyle brands like Woman &
Home, Essentials and also produce home interest
brands like Ideal Hone, Livingetc and Housetohome.
IPC Media
Overall, the types of magazines that IPC publish,
are real life “gossip” magazines, fashion, leisure
and lifestyle magazines with 3 core target
audiences. IPC could be seen as an
appropriate publisher for my new music
magazine as they have had lots of experience
with publishing a range of magazine genres.
Also, they are already well known publishers,
and will therefore already have an audience
that will appeal to a new magazine.
IPC Media
At the moment, it appears that IPC don‟t
branch out to „Acoustic‟ genre‟s of music,
and so they could benefit from using my
magazine, as it would fill this gap in their
portfolio. My product would offer them a
way to branch into the up and coming
„Acoustic‟ genre for the generation. With
my magazine, they could appeal to the
younger male audience that they aren‟t
currently reaching.
IPC Media
This is some examples of some of
the magazines that IPC create.
You can see by just looking at the
front covers that they have not
targeted an „acoustic‟ genre
audience. IPC would be able to
branch out to using my magazine,
as they can afford to take risks,
and I think that branching out to
this genre would be a positive, as it
would influence people to trust
more in IPC magazines that are
produced.

            My magazine would
            help IPC to
            overcome some of
            the disadvantages
            they have when
            branching out to
            other genres, making
            more of their
            products beneficial
            for the company.
