IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT USE,
DEVELOP OR CHALLENGE FORMS AND
CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCTS?
The film opening in which I have created uses a number of different forms of conventions which
are used in real film opening used by real film industries.
My film opening uses the conventional institution openings in form of text before any scene is
shown. This establishes to the audience that the film they are about to watch is from this individual
institution, which may or may not matter depending on the viewer.
I have decided to use the conventional type of film opening as I thought it would appeal to the
widest range of an audience.
Another convention used is voice over, which connotes to the audience that the opening
sequence is from a different point in time, and that the voice over is remembering something from
the past, and is able to explain the plot line of the story.
