3. Sherlock Holmes
Reasons inspiring from this movie:
The protagonist couple solving a crime
and the relationship between one
another.
Sherlock Holmes gave us the idea of
hiding the identity of the antagonist.
Also, the chasing idea within our movie
with the antagonist and a victim.
4. Reservoir Dogs
Reasons inspiring from this movie:
We took interest from Reservoir Dogs as
they had really nice shots, framing and
lighting within some scenes.
Reservoir Dogs also uses props such as
guns to show how lives can be taken
away within a split second.
5. Bourne Identity
Reasons inspiring from this movie:
Bourne Identity gave us the idea of a
nation conflict plot as in Bourne Identity
there is multiple countries involved and
there is a secret government plan.
The film also included a nice steel blue
color effect throughout, making it seem
more like a crime film.
6. How our inspiration movies
linked to our Movie & Poster
This shot was done from the inspiration from the
Reservoir Dogs movie as it captures the facial expression
of the protagonists and gives a hint to where and what
was in that specific shot.
Also gives an interesting perspective and shot to the
audience and not only just behind his back.
7. Concealment Of Identity
We also challenged this by never revealing the
identity at the end to leave a cliff hanger /
opposite ending to generic crime films.
The concealment of
the antagonists
identity comes from
the inspiration of
Sherlock Holmes. It
also made us relate
to the crime genre
to how the
protagonists were
going to find out
who is the killer /
antagonist.
We also used blurry
shots to shield the
identity of the killer.
8. Chase Scene
We evolved our chase scene around
the Bourne Identity car chase. As
most crime movies and action
movies they include a chase scene
where it leads to another problem or
a minute of peace.
However, from this we went against it
and included a small on foot chase
scene, using fast cuts and
panning, handheld movement with
the camera to exaggerate the
running and chasing with the
protagonist and the antagonist.
Our film also feels and acts in the same way other crime films behave. For
fast movements in certain scenes there are fast cuts and movements with
the camera shots.
9. Props
Our movie also uses the props of a crime genre as
we have used generic props and situations in
crime films. We used guns to show that there is a
killing in films as in Reservoir Dogs they use a lot of
guns to represent the conflict between one
another.
In our film however, we chose that the
antagonist to use the gun to clearly
verify that he is the killer. Our film is
also different to other movies as the
there is no heavy gun fight but only
one shot to kill one victim.
10. Visual Effects
Our movie shows our crime genre as
we used a color effect of the steel cold
blue to give off the impression that it’s
a crime film, we got that inspiration
from the ‘Bourne’ film trilogy.
This gave the movie a more
dusty, agent styled secret
operation look. The color
visual effect also made some
scenes more cold blooded
and serious.
11. Poster
Poster inspired
from GTA
posters. Multiple
screen grabs of
montages
shows different
scenes of the
movie.
It also gives a stylish look than other posters. It
gives fast glimpses within the film, characters and
what a crime film has to offer.
12. Poster 2
The poster also represents a contrast between two
nations as two flags are within the texts of the title, make
it feel link with the film and feel like it’s a professional and
a big budget film.
It also gives a hint of the plot as the old world war flags
of the Soviet Union, presenting and referencing the cold
war in a modern film.
