  target	
  audience,	
  we	
  used	
  the	
  website	
  
“Survey	
  Monkey”	
  to	
  get	
  a	
  clear	
  view	
  on	
  what	
  it	
  is	
  our	
  
audience	
  want	
  to	
  see.	
  
	
  
We	
  asked	
  them	
  questions	
  about	
  a	
  thriller	
  opening	
  and	
  
what	
  they	
  liked	
  and	
  what	
  they	
  would	
  change.	
  Because	
  
of	
  this,	
  we	
  knew	
  what	
  they	
  prefer	
  and	
  they	
  expect	
  to	
  
be	
  in	
  a	
  thriller	
  opening.	
  	
  Forty	
  per	
  cent	
  of	
  our	
  target	
  
group	
  said	
  that	
  they	
  prefer	
  a	
  non-­‐linear	
  opening.	
  We	
  
prefer	
  a	
  non-­‐linear	
  opening	
  as	
  well	
  and	
  these	
  are	
  the	
  
reasons	
  why	
  we	
  chose	
  the	
  non-­‐linear	
  opening.	
  	
  This	
  
questionnaire	
  helped	
  us	
  to	
  attract	
  and	
  address	
  our	
  
audience.	
  Also	
  we	
  used	
  social	
  networks	
  like	
  Facebook	
  
and	
  Twitter	
  to	
  get	
  our	
  survey	
  out	
  onto	
  the	
  internet;	
  
therefore,	
  we	
  had	
  a	
  wider	
  social	
  group	
  of	
  people	
  
answering	
  our	
  survey.	
  	
  Technology	
  has	
  made	
  it	
  easier	
  
to	
  attract	
  our	
  target	
  audience,	
  as	
  we	
  would	
  not	
  have	
  
received	
  as	
  much	
  detail	
  on	
  what	
  it	
  is	
  our	
  audience	
  
want	
  to	
  see	
  in	
  a	
  thriller
