Our analysis found that the combination of our main product and ancillary texts was effective for the indie genre in two key ways: 1) Relevance within genre - Both our album cover and poster incorporated conventions of the indie genre, such as dark/gloomy filtered images, nature shots, and a focus on relationships. 2) Synergy between products - Consistent filters, photos, characters, and settings were used across products to link them. Lyrical themes from the music also aligned with visual elements in the video. This created cohesion between the ancillary texts and main product.
