Pink honeysuckle is a woody perennial vine native to much of California and the Pacific Northwest. It has small oval leaves that turn purple in winter and produces large pink-white fragrant flowers from April to July that attract hummingbirds. The flowers are followed by showy red edible berries in the fall. Pink honeysuckle is well-suited for use as a ground cover, bank cover, or climbing vine in natural gardens, covering fences or climbing trellises. It provides excellent habitat and food for birds and nectar for bees and butterflies. Pink honeysuckle grows best in part shade with moderate water and well-drained soil.
