Pushbullet allows users to send notes, links, pictures, and files between devices. It has apps for mobile and desktop that show a history of items pushed. As a browser extension, it is very useful for pushing content between devices without needing third party apps. Pushbullet makes money through a freemium model, with its premium feature called Snip.It allowing users to take screenshots and send them instead of links. They track metrics like conversion to premium accounts and customer satisfaction to improve the product.

Looks at the lessons I've learnt in designing analytics for mobile apps. My experience has been with mobile games, but the concepts are broadly applicable to the wider app ecosystem.
There is so much about mobile which lends itself to collecting rich data about users and then being able to use that data to provide much better & more effective services.
And there is definitely more to come from this space. Especially when we talk about on device data processing.
The travel and tourism industry continues to grow with many areas for future growth. With more and more travelers looking to choose a service provider focused on customer experience and security, building an app like Airbnb is certainly a worthwhile endeavor and something worth spending your time and resources on.
Push It Real Good: Pushing Our Team and Design With 3D TouchUXPA Boston
This presentation tells the story of our design journey with 3D Touch and offers guidance for teams who want to take advantage of 3D Touch in their mobile apps. 3D Touch measures the level of pressure one applies when pressing an iPhone screen, and allows for a different response depending on how hard one presses. Apple offers some guidance for using 3D Touch in their iOS Human Interface Guidelines, but 3D Touch is still new (released with iPhone 6S in October 2015). Teams aren’t sure what to implement, and users aren’t sure what to expect. We’ll introduce 3D Touch, talk about designs we considered for improving our app, share observations from a study we ran, and offer guidelines for using 3D Touch in your mobile app.

Good Morning everyone. Today I’m going to talk to you about a product that I love, and that I use almost everyday. This is Pushbullet. So what does pushbullet do?
It basically allows you to push whatever you’re doing or seeing on one device to another. Or to several others! Here’s an example case.
Imagine you wake up in the morning and are reading a cool article on your laptop. Then bam, you realize your running late for class at GA. You press the pushbullet button and this sends the article to your phone, where it loads automatically - so when you get on the subway, it’s already loaded up and ready to go. But that’s not all - you could also go from your phone to laptop when you’re on your way back from GA.
OK - so now that we know what it does, lets look at what it looks like.
This is the mobile app. It shows your push history. By the way, pushbullet can push notes, links, pictures, and files. I myself have recently sent a picture, a note, and a couple of links.
These are other features, will I will talk about on the next slide.
This is the desktop app. It also tracks your history. In addition, pushbullet allows you to push things to other people. This can be extremely useful for friends, family, coworkers, and even student who are working on a project together. This allows you to manage all your devices. And this allows you to follow things like news or webcomics. Imagine that you read a particular webcomic - like XKCD. Some webcomics don’t come out everyday and you hate when you check out the site and it’s the same comic as last time. With pushbullet, overtime the new comic comes out, it can be automatically pushed to one of your devices, where it wait in a new tab or window for you to check out whenever you have the time.
As this is the browser extension. While the mobile and desktop app have a lot of features, the extension is where I use pushbullet the most. If I wanted to send this webpage from my desktop to my phone, all i’d have to do is push this clean and simple button here.
And this I can send the link to my phone, where it will automatically load on a new window on my browser. The whole process only took 2 buttons! I really recommend this extension if your looking for something that does this. OK - now let’s take a quick look at Pushbullet “revenue model”
Pushbullet currently makes no money, but is working to make a premium version for power users like myself who use it everyday. So I wanted to come up with a feature that I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for.
So I wanted my feature to primary work with the extension, because that where I use it the most. So I’m currently trying to send a link of this graphic to myself. I’m going to zoom in on this area on the next page. I am also going to put my new feature here.
This is Snip.It. It will allow my snip just the part of the page i’m interested in and then push it!
So let’s say I only wanted to push the graph to a friend of mine. He doesn’t really care about labels and I didn’t really like the title of the graph - so I only wanted to push this. By clicking the scissor icon, I can cut out this portion - just like shit command 4 does on a mac.
As soon as I finish cutting out what I want, I am returned to extension and now I’m sending a picture instead of a link. Here’s why I think this is a premium addition.
It offers me more control by allowing me to customize what I push. This can be useful if a site has personal information on it but you want to push parts of it. It also saves me time, not having to use a 3rd party to cut and open a new file, or press shift command 4 on the mac, really makes the process much quicker. And lastly, it makes the things I push more accessible - since you don’t need the internet to check out a picture later, whereas you’d still need the internet to open a link later.
Here are some of my ideas for future pushbullet premium features. Share. It allows you to quickly push to one or several social media platforms. Bank. It, like dropbox, would store all your pushes and organize them by file type. Users would pay for an increased storage space. This would be especially useful for heavy users or those who send lots of pictures. And this is Hide.It which can send pushes to incognito windows instead of regular windows… I imagine some people may find that useful.
The metrics I want to track for Snip.It and other potential additions as pushbullet comes out with a premium version are as follows. The conversion rate. the net promoter score. And on raw numbers to see our user and push growth rates. Thanks so much for your time, are there any questions?
