Anand Deshpande from Persistent Systems gave a presentation on November 8, 2014 about opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities for India related to technology and its workforce. He noted that technology like cloud computing allows the same work to be done with significantly less time and people. However, India's middle management layer may have difficulty keeping up with changing skill expectations and organizational requirements. He stressed the need for India to leverage technology to create jobs and for more major technology companies to emerge from India to serve its large young population.
