the quality of its public policies

market conditions and
regional regulations have
strongly pushed RES sector in
Puglia

from RES in 12 years
• Mainly Wind, Biomass and
PV plants
• New priorities: solar thermal
and PV for self consumption,
energy storage, smart grids,
energy efficiency
4. The regional agency ARTI
• ARTI is the Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation, established in 2004
by Puglia Region as a main tool to support the regional research and innovation
strategy deployment
• Its function is to strengthen the regional innovation players and the relationships
among them, in order to foster the knowledge transfer between research and
enterprises
• Its main lines of activities are the following:
• innovation intelligence (industry clusters dynamics, innovation demand and offer…)
• design and management of regional measures and initiatives
• monitoring and evaluation of regional innovation policies and measures
• territorial animation (innovation culture promotion, information and communication,
creation and animation of networks, etc.)
• international networking and projects
5. Main interests for cooperation
• Exchange know-how, experiences and good practices in promoting a more
sustainable approach to energy production and consumption
• Develop opportunities for institutional cooperation in the green energy and
energy efficiency sectors
• Promote cross-country business opportunities for local companies operating in
RES/EE
• Promote scientific and technological cooperation among companies, universities
and research centers in the Mediterranean area
