Publication Plan
By Mia Harrion
Name of Magazine
• The name of my music magazine will be
‘Censored’. I came across this in an indie
magazine named ‘Bullet’, there was a picture with
a censored sign across of the models body and I
liked the idea of using it as my magazine name.
• I find that this name is original for a music
magazine and will be unexpected by my audience
and anyone else who will view it
How often will my magazine
be published?
• My magazine will be published monthly. This is so
we can give our target audience the best possible
content and so they wont get bored easily.
• Also, by not having my magazine being published
weekly will make it more desirable to my
audience.
Cost
• My magazine will be £3.99 as my audience is
aged between 17-21, so they will have some
source of income and my magazine is published
monthly so I doubt that they will see this as
expensive.
Style of Magazine
• When I first started planning my magazine I was
planning so do a mature pop/ indie genre, however as
my planning went on I found it difficult to interoperate
both of these genres together so I just chose to apply
an indie genre to my magazine.
• To apply this I will have basic colours and not much
going on and not overcrowd with images or bright
block colours. For my cover I will be having a white
background with just 2 different colours of font and one
main feature article image to keep it basic and indie. I
found keeping it plain is very popular within my chosen
genre.
Regular Content
• Within my magazine I will create different content
with each issue that I publish. For my first
publication I will be including a new and upcoming
band named ‘Three Skittles in a Garden’ who are
also known as ‘3SIG’. They are an indie band
which will appeal to my audience.
• I will also be including a different up-and-coming
artist or band with each issue. I think this will
aspire to my audiences expectations as they like
to listen to different music which aren't
mainstream.
