Mercy is unearned kindness - literally "LOVE IN ACTION". Using the story of The Good Samaritan, Pastor Chuck talks about why and how we should show tangible kindness to others and how we can help to move people "From Misery To Mercy".

The Miracle of Mercy - Part 3 - God's Mercy & My FailuresLifePointe Church
This message is Part 3 of the series “The Miracle Of Mercy” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message Pastor Chuck talks about “God’s Mercy & Our Failures”.
Our God is a God of second chances and fresh starts. The truth is WE HAVE ALL FAILED in some way, at some time in some context - and we ALL need God's mercy to move past our past. Some of us are still weighed down by our failure(s) and we need to be set free once and for all. Here's the good news, you do not have to be defined, defeated or destroyed by your failure - all because our God is a God of MERCY. Your name is not FAILURE - because of Jesus, your name is FORGIVEN!
In this message, Pastor Chuck talk about Peter’s colossal failure on the night before Jesus was crucified and how in spite of what he did, he found forgiveness and a renewed purpose for his life. And so can you. So, don’t quit, and don’t give up, even when you’ve experienced failure. Instead, allow God to use failure to move you forward.

Synopsis: We know that Jesus bore our sins. But the false idea of his death being vicarious or a substitution is not what the Bible teaches. Passages used to support this idea are discussed making it clear that sin is not transferable; Jesus was not made sin, nor forsaken by His father; He was without sin and bearing our sins is about removal of sins, not transferring.
St Augustine’s key work, On Christian Teaching, is translated often as On Christian Doctrine, teaches us how to read Scriptures and teach and spread our faith to our neighbors. What is the core of this work? We should Love God with all of our heart and with all of our soul and with all of our mind and with all of our strength, and we should love our neighbor as ourselves. If we do not love our neighbor, we cannot Love God, and if we do not Love God and our neighbor, we cannot fathom Scripture, let alone deign to teach and preach the Scriptures.
St Augustine teaches, “Whoever thinks he understands the Holy Scriptures, or any part of them, but interprets them in a way that does not build up this two-fold Love of God and love of neighbor, does not truly understand the Scriptures. If, on the other hand, a man draws a meaning from Scriptures that builds up the two-fold Love of God and love of his neighbor, although he does not precisely understand the exact meaning of the author, his error is not pernicious, and he is wholly clear from the charge of deception.”
St Augustine further teaches that if someone with a good heart and pure motives has a mistaken interpretation of Scripture, that “if his mistaken interpretation of Scripture tends to build up love, . . . he goes astray in much the same way as a man who by mistake quits the high road, but yet reaches through the fields the same place to which the road leads.”

The Bible is the most wonderful and important book in human history. Learn why this is true. It explains our existence. It helps us to live a life of joy and hope.
This presentation explains why the Bible is so useful for everyone. It explains the key themes of the Bible. It outlines why you should care about the Bible.
This first item of His consciousness is the
first lesson of the text. Let this mind be in
you, means simply this: act from the motive
of Jesus and make God as real as He did.
We are not bidden to pretend that there is
a Father in heaven to whom our lives are
dear; but we are bidden to make this fact
the reality of our daily faith and practice
as simply as Jesus did.
Even moderate drinking in pregnancy can affect a child
Public speech
1. Many times we have listened about religion and moral ideas which try to
teach us different points of views about many common and daily things in the life,
but there is a mystery event which is not clearly understood and also it has many
consequences not only in the Christians´ life but also in the human´s life. Maybe
you can recognize this phrase, “If it is possible, may this cup be taken from me”
(NVI, Bible Matthew 26:39), especially in Easter circumstances. Nevertheless,
have you thought what it means? Why this historical character pronounced those
words? Several questions could born in our mind related to the cross and few
answers could be given because the mystery of the cross has two sides one of
them requires your faith and the other your conscious.
First at all, let´s imagine the scene. Jesus is alone and he knows what is
going to happen with him in a few minutes more. His disciples are sleeping in the
same place but they are not with him in the same way because they are tired and
Jesus „soul is sorrow. The main issue is why? Why it was necessary to happen,
why an innocent had to go to the cross as an evil person and paid for humans
„sins. For us, it has not sense because we cannot comprehend effectively for the
reason that we never offer a child for people who are guilt, rapist, selfish, liar
among others. Nonetheless, “it was the Lord´s will to crush him and cause him to
suffer” (NVI Bible, Isaiah 53: 10 a) so God “who did not spare his own son, but
gave him up for us all”(NVI Bible, Romans 8:32) wanted to crush Jesus in order to
save us because we are lost without Jesus „sacrifice. According to God „justice, we
have to die because God hates the sin and we lives in sin all the time in our mind,
in our hearth and also in our actions. Hence, Jesus changed our place; the
innocent took the place of the guilt and now we are innocent for the Jesus „blood.
In conclusion, when Jesus said that “If it is possible, may this cup be taken
from me” (NVI, Bible Matthew 5: 23) he referred this cup as God´s ire which had to
be accomplished. Thus, this ire was over Jesus in the cross but God is not a bad
father. His love is so huge that he offered his only son for our life and now we have
the opportunity to be saved by Jesus „sacrifice; nevertheless, Jesus has risen and
this is splendid new for us.
