1) Jesus died on the cross to atone for the sins of God's elect people. His death satisfied God's wrath against sin and enabled the forgiveness of sins for those who would believe.
2) Not everyone in the world benefits from Christ's death, as He only died to save those given to Him by God - His bride, His church.
3) In dying for His people, Jesus obtained their salvation, wiping out their sins, bearing their punishment, and purchasing heaven for them. His death did not accomplish salvation for all of humanity.

1) Jesus Christ became fully human while still fully God in order to redeem humanity from sin and transform believers into his image.
2) As a human, Jesus emptied himself of his divine attributes and took on the form of a servant by being born as a man, living a humble human life, and dying on the cross.
3) By becoming fully human, Jesus identified with humanity's sinful condition and experienced human limitations like hunger, thirst, and death in order to serve as a perfect sacrifice for humanity's sins.
The document provides 5 fascinating facts about Easter:
1) When Jesus died on the cross, the temple veil was torn in two, which signified that all people now had access to God.
2) Jesus not only experienced the physical agony of crucifixion, but also the spiritual agony of feeling abandoned by God, to take on the punishment for humanity's sins.
3) Jesus was crucified at the same time Jewish people were killing their Passover lambs, as he was the ultimate sacrifice as the "Lamb of God."
4) After Jesus' resurrection, many saints who had died also rose from their graves in Jerusalem.
5) Religious leaders placed guards and seals on
The document discusses the uniqueness of Jesus Christ, beginning with his entrance into the world through the virgin birth as prophesied centuries earlier. It describes his sinless life and miracles, unlike anyone before or since. His death is unique in that he died to take the sins of the world, though sinless himself. His resurrection is the cornerstone of Christianity and is established through scripture, eyewitness accounts, and transformed lives. The document argues Jesus is uniquely the son of God and savior based on these factors.
Jesus Christ came to earth primarily to redeem his people from eternal death through his atoning work. Atonement refers to what Christ did through his life and death to earn salvation for humanity. The document argues that atonement was limited only to God's chosen elect people, not all of humanity. It provides biblical references to suggest God chose a limited number of souls to belong to his kingdom before creation, and that Christ's death on the cross was sufficient only to save this elect group that God foreknew and predestined for salvation.
The document discusses whether there is life after death, explaining that the Bible teaches there is both eternal life for believers through faith in Jesus Christ as well as eternal separation from God for non-believers. It provides biblical support that Jesus' resurrection proves life after death and that through faith in Him, believers can receive the free gift of eternal salvation and life in heaven after physical death.
This document contains a summary of a lesson on the physical and spiritual rest that Jesus offers. It discusses the various Sabbaths and Jubilees in the Bible that provided physical rest, and explains that spiritual rest involves communion with Jesus, forgiveness of sin, and liberation from burdens. It contrasts the rest believers find in Jesus versus the unrest of the ungodly. The document then summarizes a parable about a sower and different types of soil, and explains how the devil tries to counteract the gospel being planted in people's hearts.
The document summarizes a passage from the Bible (John 10: 1-21) where Jesus refers to himself as the Good Shepherd and contrasts his role with that of religious leaders at the time, referred to as thieves and robbers. It then discusses how this passage has been used traditionally by Quakers to oppose pastoral ministry. It suggests the passage indicates that Jesus' message was meant for all people, not just Jews, and that while other religions may imprison people, Jesus offers freedom and will unite all people regardless of religion. It concludes by asking how to recognize Jesus' voice so that it can be taught to others.
This document discusses the importance and power of personal testimony. It provides examples from the Bible of individuals who shared their testimony after experiencing Jesus' transforming power, including a possessed man healed by Jesus, Mary after the resurrection, the apostles Peter, John and Thomas, and Paul and his dramatic conversion experience. The document encourages readers to share what Jesus has done in their own lives and how He has changed them, in order to point others to God's salvation and love.
The document discusses how Jesus' resurrection provides hope even in the face of death. It summarizes that Jesus turning death into a harmless pathway on our journey home. It also says that because Jesus rose from the dead, believers will not have to suffer death, punishment for sins in hell, or eternal separation from God. Jesus' resurrection gives believers hope, peace, and new life as they are filled with His love.
This document summarizes chapter 13 of the Book of Acts. It describes Paul's journey spreading the message of Christianity from Antioch to various cities in Asia Minor like Paphos and Perga. It outlines key points from Paul's message where he explains that the Jews are blind to the scriptures and condemned Jesus to death, but God raised Jesus from the dead, as promised. Paul's message offers the promise of life after death and fulfillment of God's plan through Christianity.
Jesus' mission was to preach the gospel, heal the sick, help the poor and oppressed. His message was one of love, not vengeance. Christians are called to love their neighbors and help those in need, getting involved in their community to improve lives and share the gospel. The church's mission involves preparing hearts, sowing spiritual seeds through outreach, praying for growth, and reaping souls for God's kingdom. Believers should support missionaries and address community needs through service, then plant churches to continue spreading the gospel message of love.
The Miracle of Mercy - Part 2 - God Can Use AnybodyLifePointe Church
This message is Part 2 of the series “The Miracle Of Mercy” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message Pastor Chuck talks about the backstory of the life of Paul the Apostle and how, in spite of his past, God showed him mercy and was able to use him to do great things. With that in mind, he shared 5 principles showing how God can use us as well. This message was delivered at LifePointe Church on Sunday, September 25, 2016.
Jesus' death has significant meaning for humanity. While often discussed topics focus on education, economics, and sex, Jesus' death addresses our souls and has consequences for both Christians and humanity. Jesus' death was mysterious but fulfilled God's will to sacrifice his son to save humanity, as people were lost in sin and deserved death according to God's justice. Jesus took the place of the guilty so we could be innocent through his blood if we have faith. Jesus also died to save the world by fulfilling God's law, though he asked if possible to avoid his cup of suffering. Through Jesus' death and resurrection, we receive benefits like forgiveness of sins and eternal life with God through faith in his promises.
Sabbath school lesson 11, 2nd quarter of 2017David Syahputra
Peter warns the early church about false teachers who will infiltrate and spread destructive teachings. These false teachers are motivated by greed and selfish desires. They promise freedom but instead lead people into bondage through licentious lifestyles and denying core Christian teachings. Peter cites examples from the Old Testament like Balaam who loved wealth over righteousness. Ultimately, those who follow these false teachers return to lives of sin, like a dog to its vomit, after experiencing truth. The epistle of Jude contains similar warnings about mockers and lustful people in the end times.
This document provides a lesson on divine and human mercy based on biblical passages. It discusses how God is compassionate and hears the cries of His people based on stories from the Old Testament. It then explains how Jesus showed compassion and mercy to those he encountered, using his words and actions to teach others to show mercy. The document outlines how having compassion involves feeling sympathy for others' suffering and helping to relieve it. It encourages Christians to comfort those who are suffering, as Christ comforts us.
The Miracle of Mercy - Part 6 - From Misery To MercyLifePointe Church
This message is Part 6 of the series “The Miracle Of Mercy” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message Pastor Chuck talks about how we can help people move “From Misery To Mercy”.
One of the most important things we can do as Christians is to pass on the mercy we have received from God to others, especially in tangible acts of kindness and compassion. Mercy is unearned kindness - literally "LOVE IN ACTION". Using the story of The Good Samaritan, Pastor Chuck talks about why and how we should show tangible kindness to others and how we can help to move people "From Misery To Mercy".
This message was delivered at LifePointe Church on Sunday, October 23, 2016
This document provides biblical arguments for the claim that Jesus is God. It discusses five categories of biblical proof: 1) Jesus accepts worship from people on Earth, 2) Jesus is worshipped by angels in heaven, 3) Jesus is directly called God in the Bible, 4) Jesus claims attributes and functions of God the Father, and 5) Jesus speaks as if he was God. The document argues that salvation depends on how one relates to Jesus, not just his teachings, and that viewing Jesus as divine makes one more likely to trust and obey his words in the Bible.
Sabbath school lesson 13, 2nd quarter of 2018David Syahputra
This document provides an overview of the Second Coming as described in both the Old and New Testaments. It discusses that in the Old Testament, the Second Coming was referred to as the "day of the Lord" and would be a day of both destruction and liberation. In the New Testament, the Second Coming is described as a visible, noisy event where Jesus will descend from the clouds with power and glory. All believers, both living and dead, will be resurrected or transformed into immortal bodies to ascend together and meet Jesus in the air. The document encourages believers to prepare for this blessed hope and keep working, praying, and warning others as they watchfully await Christ's return.
Jesus was crucified around 2000 years ago in Israel on the orders of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor. He was falsely accused of blasphemy by Jewish religious leaders. After his death, some of his followers reported that he had appeared to them alive after three days, believing he had risen from the dead as the Messiah.
This document provides a summary of the Easter and Resurrection Sunday celebrations for the Christ Apostolic Church, Southern DCC HQ. It discusses the empty tomb based on Matthew 28:1-8 and John 20:1-7, noting that because Jesus rose from the dead, believers are freed from sin, Satan, sickness and poverty. The document then examines the resurrection appearances to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary based on Matthew 28:1-8. It emphasizes that the resurrection proves Jesus' deity, the truthfulness of his teachings, and that salvation is now complete through his victory over sin, death and hell.

Series jesus - part 6 - a sacrifice for all - 03-22-15 - outlineLifePointe Church
Jesus willingly sacrificed himself on the cross to pay the penalty for humanity's sins. God planned this sacrifice from the beginning as the means to reconcile sinful people with himself. Jesus' sacrifice was costly, showing how much God values and loves each person. Through faith in Jesus' death and resurrection, people can be forgiven of their sins and spend eternity with God.
The Paschal mystery is the Passion, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ by which He heals us from sin and enables us to become children of God. The word 'atonement' describes Christ's saving action, implying both a repayment for our sins and a reunion of God and humanity. Through the atonement, Jesus repays our debt of guilt, gains mercy and repeals punishment, defeats the devil's claims over us, reconciles us to God, and fulfills Scripture and salvation history.
The document discusses the importance of the cross in Christianity. It begins by providing historical context of the crucial role played by RAF pilots and their planes in defending Britain during WWII. It then discusses how the cross has become a symbol that various groups seek to remove or diminish due to its significance in Christianity. The main part of the document explains what the cross represents theologically - that through Jesus' death on the cross, God provided a way for humanity's sins to be forgiven so that people can be saved. It emphasizes that the cross signifies the gospel and Jesus paying the price for sins. The document concludes by asking readers to reflect on how Jesus wants them to respond by following him and making adjustments in their lives.
The document discusses key aspects of Catholic theology around the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ, including:
1) The cross is the instrument Jesus died on to save humanity from sin through his act of perfect self-giving love.
2) Jesus willingly accepted suffering and death on the cross through prayer and obedience to God's will.
3) Jesus' resurrection confirmed his divinity, brought new life, and gives hope of humanity's future resurrection.
The document provides details from Sunday school lessons on Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection based on passages from the Gospel of John. It summarizes key events like Jesus caring for his mother Mary from the cross, fulfilling prophecies as he died, his burial by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, and Mary Magdalene discovering the empty tomb. It then examines Jesus' appearances to Mary and the disciples after his resurrection, giving them the Holy Spirit and commissioning them to spread the gospel. The document analyzes these biblical passages in 4-5 sentences with commentary intended to teach the lessons.
The document discusses the Paschal Mystery, which involves Christ's passion, crucifixion, death, burial, descent into hell, resurrection and ascension. It explains that through his death, Christ liberates us from sin, and through his resurrection, he opens the way for us to new life and justification.
Jesus was to put all enemies under his feetGLENN PEASE
Christ offered himself as the ultimate sacrifice for sins. His one-time sacrifice was complete and sufficient for all people. Now in heaven, Christ rests from his work, having fully atoned for sins. He sits at the right hand of God in the place of highest honor and authority. Eventually, Christ will subjugate all his enemies like sin, death, and the devil by the power of his gospel and spirit. His ultimate victory over all opposition is assured.
The document summarizes key points from Lesson 12 of a series on the Book of Job. It begins by discussing how God revealed himself to Job in chapter 38, which resulted in Job's confession. However, the story leaves unresolved the conflict between God and Satan that caused Job's suffering. The document then explains how Jesus provides the ultimate answer and resolution as the suffering Redeemer who bore our griefs and sorrows. It describes various aspects of Jesus' life and redemption, concluding that through faith in Christ, we can have assurance of eternal life despite human suffering.
The document summarizes key points from Lesson 12 of a series on the Book of Job. It begins by discussing how God revealed himself to Job in chapter 38, which resulted in Job's confession. However, the story leaves unresolved the conflict between God and Satan that caused Job's suffering. The document then explains how Jesus is revealed as the ultimate solution and redeemer foreshadowed in Job. It describes how Jesus suffered like humans and died on the cross to redeem humanity from sin and death. Finally, it emphasizes that through faith in Christ, believers can have assurance of eternal life despite suffering on earth.
The document discusses the three modes of existence of Jesus: 1) His pre-incarnate existence as the second person of the Trinity, 2) His incarnate existence as fully God and fully man, and 3) His ascended incarnate existence after his resurrection. It explains that Jesus became incarnate through the virgin Mary to redeem humanity, was fully divine yet experienced humanity, and offers himself as the perfect sacrifice through his death and resurrection. After ascending, Jesus now reigns until he returns to judge and bring believers into paradise.
Jesus' death and resurrection fulfilled prophecies from the Old Testament. He was crucified at the same time Jewish people were sacrificing Passover lambs, as the ultimate Lamb of God. While on the cross, Jesus fulfilled prophecies about remaining silent when accused, having his bones left unbroken, and being pierced. Three days after being buried in a rich man's tomb, the women who went to anoint Jesus' body found the tomb empty, as an angel told them he had risen, just as he said he would.
The document summarizes five passages from Isaiah that describe aspects of Jesus' life and ministry as foretold by Isaiah:
1) Isaiah 42:1-9 - Jesus would bring justice and law to all, behaving humbly.
2) Isaiah 49:1-7 - Jesus' work of salvation would involve suffering and rejection.
3) Isaiah 50:4-9 - Jesus would be whipped, beaten, and humiliated but trust God to help him.
4) Isaiah 52:13-53:12 - Jesus would be exalted and humiliated, rejected as a man of sorrows who atones for sins through his death.
5) Isaiah 61:1-3
The document discusses the power and significance of Jesus' death on the cross. It explains that the cross is central to Christianity and that through His suffering and death, Jesus overcame the six woes or sorrows that have afflicted mankind since the Fall - guilt, Satan's dominion, pain/suffering, anxiety, death, and separation from God. It emphasizes that we must receive the power of the cross in our own lives by taking up our cross daily and following Jesus.
This document provides a lesson about salvation through Jesus Christ. It begins by discussing how God loves the world and offers salvation through His Son. It then explains that without divine help, eternal death would be our fate, but God sent Jesus to save us from our sins. The lesson will cover both the basis of salvation and the results of it. We have two choices - pay for our sins ourselves in eternal death, or accept Christ's payment for sins on the cross through faith in Him. Later passages discuss how God initiated our salvation by sending Jesus, and that Jesus came to seek and save the lost. His death pays the penalty for our sins so we can be forgiven and freed from sin's power and eternal death. Accepting Jesus

This message is Part 7 in the message series “AWAKENING” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message titled, “Awakening To Sacrifice”, Pastor Chuck talks about the importance of genuine sacrifice in the Christian life and why we should be willing to sacrifice our lives for the Lord. Using stories from the life of David, Mary and Paul, he talks about the nature of sacrifice: it is costly, illogical and personal - and how gratitude is the key motivator for real sacrifice. This message was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on Sunday, June 11, 2017.
Message series awakening - part 7 - awakening to sacrifice - pastor chuck b...LifePointe Church
True living comes through sacrifice. Sacrifice is measured by what one is willing to give up. True sacrifice always costs something of value. Several biblical examples are given of sacrifices that held significance because they cost the giver something meaningful: David sacrificed oxen and land to build an altar after being convicted by a plague; Mary anointed Jesus with expensive perfume worth a year's wages to prepare him for burial; Romans are called to dedicate their lives as living sacrifices to God's service. True worship recognizes that all good things come from God and leads to sacrificially giving one's life completely to him in gratitude.

That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.

Irmão X provides a shrewd way of describing the subtleties and weaknesses that can jeopardize our intentions, making us more attentive and vigilant by providing us with his wise pages, reminding us between the lines of the Master's words: "Pray and watch."
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

1. AN“A. D.” EASTER
Series – JESUS – Part 7
PastorChuckBernal – 04-05-15
God undertook the most dramatic rescue
operation in cosmic history. He determined
to save the human race from self-
destruction, and He sent His Son Jesus
Christ to salvage and redeem them. The
work of man’s redemption was
accomplished at the cross. But without the resurrection, the cross has absolutely no
power or purpose. (Billy Graham)
Easter shows us an A__________________________ D__________
Christ entered the Most Holy Place only once—and for all time. He did not take with him
the blood of goats and calves. His sacrifice was his own blood, and by it he set us free from
sin forever . . . Then Jesus cried in a loud voice and died. The curtain in the Temple was torn
into twopieces, from the topto the bottom. (Hebrews 9:11-12, Mark 15:37-38 – NCV)
And Christ became a human being and lived here on earth among us . . . No one has ever
actually seen God, but his only Son has told us all about him.
(John 1:14, 18 – LB)
He created all the people of the world . . . His purpose in all of this is that they should seek
after God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from
any one of us. (Acts 17:26-27 – LB)
Jesus, our high priest, is able to understand our weaknesses. When Jesus lived on earth, he
was tempted in every way. He was tempted in the same ways we are tempted, but he
never sinned. With Jesus as our high priest, we can feel free to come before God’s throne
where there is grace. There we receive mercy and kindness to help us when we need it.
(Hebrews 4:15-16– ERV)
Easter underscores an A____________________ D_____________
He died a selfless, obedient death — and the worst kind of death at that
— a crucifixion. (Philippians 2:8 – Msg)
I give my back to the whip, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard. I do not hide
from shame — they spit in my face . . . He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our
sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed . . .
the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly . . . He was
led like a lamb to the slaughter - Unjustly condemned, he was led away . . . he was struck
down for the rebellion of my people . . . it was the LORD’s good plan to crush him and cause
him grief . . . His life is made an offering for sin . . . (Isaiah 50:6, 53:4-10 – LB)
Christ’s death was also a one-time event,
but it was a sacrifice that took care of sins forever. (Hebrews 9:28 – Msg)

Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and
crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.
(Matthew 20:19 – NLT)
Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and
found that the stone was rolled aside from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter
and me and said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and I don’t know
where they have put him!” We ran to the tomb to see; I outran Peter and got there
first, and stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but I didn’t go in. Then
Simon Peter arrived and went on inside. He also noticed the cloth lying there, while the
swath that had covered Jesus’ head was rolled up in a bundle and was lying at the
side. Then I went in too, and saw, and believed that he had risen for until then we hadn’t
realized that the Scriptures saidhe would come tolife again! (John 19:1-9 – LB)
Easter leads us to an A_______________ D___________________
God is so rich in mercy; he loved us so much that even though we were spiritually dead
and doomed by our sins, he gave us back our lives again when he raised Christ from the
dead—only by his undeserved favor have we ever been saved — and lifted us up from the
grave . . . all because of what Christ Jesus did. And now God can always point to us as
examples of how very, very rich his kindness is, as shown in all he has done for us through
Jesus Christ. Because of his kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And
even trusting is not of yourselves; it too is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the
good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it.
(Ephesians 2:4-8 – LB)
When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God.
God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate
wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. (Colossians
2:14 – Msg)
Yourold story ends with the cross, your new story begins with the resurrection!
