Jesus died on the cross to provide forgiveness of sins for all humanity. Due to our inherent sinful nature, we were condemned to death and eternal damnation, with no way to save ourselves. Jesus, who was sinless, willingly sacrificed himself as the atonement for our sins. By accepting Jesus' sacrifice through faith, we can receive salvation and eternal life with God. His death demonstrates God's love and provides the only means by which we can be reconciled to God and escape the wages of sin, which is death.

This brief story presents the gospel as you would speaking to someone. It, though distilled from scripture, is not filled with references and quotes. It is about a 2 minute read and is very compelling.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

1. Why did Jesus die for our sins? – 15th December 2015
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, hewas crushed for our iniquities”(
Isaiah 53:5).
Jesusdiedonthe cross to provide the wayforus to receive forgivenessfromoursins. The Bible provides
manydetailsregardingthe sacrifice of Jesus.Whenwe readthe Bible,we canunderstandmore and
more about salvationandforgiveness.Whenwe say"Jesusdiedforoursins,"we are sayingthatHe died
because of our sins.Sinleadstodeathwhichwe can learninRomans6:23, "Forthe wagesof sinis
death, butthe giftof God is eternal lifeinChristJesusourLord".Due to our sinand sinfulnesswe were
consignedtodeathandeternal damnation, andwe hadno wayto receive salvationbyourselves.
Jesuscame intoour worldandliveda sinlessandperfectlife, sodeathhadno holdonHim. Yet,inHis
grace, Jesuschose todie onour behalf. He tookour punishmentforus. He wasthe atoningsacrifice and
died"forour sins,"asour substitute sothatwe wouldbe forgiven.Hissacrifice meansthatoursinhas
alreadybeenpaid, andthatGod will forgive all whoputtheirtrustinJesusforour salvation.”Peter
replied,“Repentandbe baptized, everyone of you, inthe name of JesusChristforthe forgivenessof
your sins.Andyouwill receivethe giftof the HolySpirit"(Acts2:38),
We have all sinnedinone wayor the other.“…for all have sinnedand fall shortof the gloryof
God”(Romans3:23). Therefore we needGod'shelpforourredemptionfromoursinful nature andthisis
made possible throughourfaithinJesus.AsChristianwhoneedtohave faithandbelief inJesusChrist,
we needtoacknowledge oursinfulnessandrepentforthe sinsthatwe have committed.Althoughwe
may notthinkof oursin andsinfulnessasadailyoccurringthoughtinour minds,oursins…bigorsmall,

What isimportis that we thoughtfullyacceptoursinfulnessanddeliberatelydesire tobe savedthrough
Gods forgives.Thisisonlypossible throughJesusChristourLordand saviour.Itis onlythenthatwe can
receive salvationthroughHisgrace. We receive thisasa giftof God and notthroughour own abilities.
We can learnthisinEphesians2: “For itis bygrace you have beensaved, throughfaith—andthisisnot
fromyourselves,itisthe giftof God”(Ephesians2:8).It is onlyafterreceivingoursalvationthatavailsus

the truth, andthe life.Noone comestothe Fatherexceptthroughme."AsChristianswe have to
steadfastlybelievethisveryimportantteachingasstatedbyJesusinJohn14:6. No one can reach Gods
kingdomwithoutHim.We cannotreach God as sinnersandbyourselvesthroughourabilities.Jesusdied
for usfor thisreason…todie as the atoningsacrifice forthe sinof all humanityandthus avail the
possibilityof reachingGod.Jesus'deathmeansthatwe have accessto God.
Many may wantto knowas to why didJesusdie foroursins?.We can boldlytell anyonethatitis
because of the love of God that isin ChristJesus!.Whenwe readthe New Testament,we canknowthat
Jesusislove.We can learnwhenPaul states:“ForI am convincedthatneitherdeathnorlife,neither
angelsnordemons,neitherthe presentnorthe future,noranypowers,39 neither heightnordepth,nor
anythingelse inall creation, will be able toseparate usfromthe love of God that isin ChristJesusour
Lord”(Romans8:38-39). Jesus'deathmeansthatthe sacrificesof the OldTestamentLaw are no longer
needed.Inprevioustimes,variousofferingswere requiredbythe Law as atonementforsin.Yetthese
sacrificeswere onlytemporary.Withthe sacrifice of Jesus,we were providedaperfect,one-time
atonementfromsinof mankind. We can readinHebrews10:10, “And bythat will,we have beenmade
holythroughthe sacrifice of the bodyof JesusChristonce forall…”
2. Christ'sdeathmeansthat we are offeredthe possibilityof receivingforgivenessof sin, whenwe accept
Jesusas Lord.As we can read inGalatians3:22, “But Scripture haslockedupeverythingunderthe
control of sin, sothat what waspromised, beinggiventhroughfaithinJesusChrist, mightbe givento
those whobelieve”.We mustknowthat"the promise byfaithinJesusChrist”isgiven“tothose who
believe”.We mustalsoknowthatJesus‘purchasedoursalvation’throughHisdeathonthe cross by
becomingsinforus. It says that Jesustookthe repaymentof oursinand sinfulnessuponHim, sothatwe
mightbecome righteouspeopleasGod desiresfromus.We can learnin2 Corinthians5:21,“God made
himwhohad no sinto be sinfor us, sothat in himwe mightbecome the righteousnessof God”.
As we readfromabove,we can receive Salvationfrometernal destruction, throughGod’sgrace and
throughour faithwhichwe read above inEphesians2:8-9. It ismade possible for“anyone”whobelieves
inJesusChristas theirsaviourandthat He diedforus onthe Romancross and rose againdemonstrating
