Demonstrate expertise on economic concepts and theories necessary to
understand the functioning of the economy for economic analysis and policy-
making.
■ Familiarize the terms and concepts commonly used in discussions of economic issues

Develop skills in the formulation of project proposals, undertaking of economic
researches, solving mathematical problems and constructing economic

■ Prepare and complete economic researches applying qualitative and quantitative methods in economics

The Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a program offered in the Lingayen Campus of Pangasinan
State University. This particular program is designed to provide students with an educational
background and experience which reflects the setting in the life of the economists in business
enterprises and government agencies. The program is grounded on the theoretical as well as
applied economics which are intended to sharpen the student’s analysis and understanding of
the complexities of today’s economy. The students are exposed to various tools, methodologies,
theories and orientations that will assist them in pursuing their careers in the field of
economics.
PSU Economics Web 2.0 is an improved version education website of the AB Economics
Program in PSU Lingayen Campus which educates visitors particularly students providing
them with knowledge and worthwhile information about Economics and serves an educational
tool that help students find rich organized resources necessary to gain experience in direct
support of online learning. Likewise, the website informs and updates the students and
stakeholders on the various things the AB Economics Program does because the portal
showcases and manages the activities in academics, research and extension over the web.
PSU ECONOMICS E-LEARNING is a learning management system tool of the AB Economics
program in PSU Lingayen Campus that enables students to access and get learning content
and educational resources trough online virtual courses about their different core subjects
in Economics. This is an essential online portal where the AB Economics students can easily
connect and collaborate with their teachers and can continue their educational endeavors
online 24/7, anywhere.
Bachelor of Arts in Economics (AB Econ) is a four-year degree program that is designed
to provide students with working knowledge in economic concepts and skills in performing
economic analysis and modelling and economic policies necessary to understand the
functioning of both national and international economy. The program aims to give students
an in-depth understanding of how various economic agents and institutions (consumers,
firms, government and foreign sector) work in determining the economic issues and
problems the society faces so as to create sound economic decisions and possible solutions
with the application of both microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, theories, and
models.
The study of economics is central to the comprehensive understanding of markets,
demand and supply of goods and services, businesses, government policies, international
trade issues, health, labor, banking and finance, economic growth and development,
environment among others. This is a program that is indented for students who would
wish to become analysts, researchers, advisors and economists in the public and private
sectors. Graduates of the program may work in a range of varied fields including public
sector, business, finance, research and development, healthcare, real estate, human
resource management, sales and marketing.
