This document discusses using proximity technologies like QR codes, Bluetooth, and NFC to provide digital content and interactions for marketing and education. It describes how QR codes can link to online content from print materials and how Bluetooth beacons can network devices within 10 meters. Shortened URLs and redirect sites allow easily updating digital "signposts" linked from physical materials. Proximity solutions can run videos, audio, send texts, update social media, and provide notifications for tracking engagement.

OBJECT-MEDIA: FROM PERSONALISATION TO A SEAMLESS TV/VR CONVERGENCEJerry Foss
This presentation proposes in-video personalisation using object-based media for the insertion of externally sourced video placements into broadcast content (real-time or on-demand). Placement content is selected in accordance with viewer profiles, and may be produced independently of the source video.
Using this this technology user-object interaction is also possible. Use cases, include personalised product placement, training, education and accessibility for hearing and visually impaired viewers. The technology specifically fits existing distribution platforms (cable, satellite, DTTV, IPTV/OTT) with minimal infrastructure upgrade.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Presentation looking at solutions for Marketing within a particular space or location
QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) can be used to create a digital action on a mobile phone from a normal printed surface.
One of the best sites for generating QR Codes is http://tiny.cc/qrcodegeneratorQR Codes can be used to create a large variety of actions on a mobile phone, from displaying some text to sending an email, displaying a map, running a video creating a contact card for your phone’s contacts, or a calendar event for an important date straight into your phone’s calendar.
Using QR Codes on notices, interesting objects and clothing to help slowly change the way people interact with their mobile devices in your learning spaces. Encourage and promote the positive use of mobile technologies and send out ‘useful’ information so that will want to continue to interact and follow your communication mediums. Colour coding QR codes could be a way of quickly pointing an informed audience that different types of content are available at the different coloured QR Codes.. Eg: White for a weblink, Blue to an audio file, red for a video file. In this way, an informed audience could make a choice about what they want to download to their mobile device depending upon bandwidth and their connectivity restrictions.
Re-Direct sites provide the means to allow you to re-use existing QR Codes and NFC Tags when they are linked to an appropriate ‘Re-Direct’ site. For the instances referred to here, I have used a site called http://p-qr.com - This site creates QR codes that are linked to a re-useable landing page.
Using URL Shortner sites mean that you can customise long web addresses into something that can be easily spoken and written down for helping with marketing (eg: “tiny dot cc slash, qr code generator or http://tiny.cc/qrcodegenerator)
Re –Direct sites allow one printed QR Code.. To perform different actions depending upon when and what you want it to do. So, for printed QR Codes in your College prospectus or for the posters around town, they can be made to point to different videos, offers, display text, send emails… at different times of the year.
Some Re-Direct sites also provide useful information on the location of where the CLICK’s came from
If you used this type of solution for different QR Code posters in different publications or in different geographical locations, you would be able to monitor which QR codes were the most effective for different audiences.

If you used this type of solution for different QR Code posters in different publications or in different geographical locations, you would be able to monitor which QR codes were the most effective for different audiences.
One other feature of some Re-Direct sites is that they inform you, via email (which can be picked up on a mobile phone).. of a summary of the effectiveness of the links during the day, so you can see when each of your links were clicked and by how many people. In the example here, one link was clicked 61 and another 32 times since it was sent out on Twitter.
Bluetooth devices can be used to broadcast information to people walking past. There are a range of devices which can be used with different ranges and effects. Bluetooth solutions can be short animated picture files (GIFs) or videos etc sent to mobile phone.
It is important when using Bluetooth to try and suggest to people to turn on their bluetooth device. A train station in Lisbon has floor notices that help make the public aware that they are walking in a Bluetooth broadcast area.
A library in Delft, in Holland, (Top Left) has a Bluetooth station for prompting students to come to it and pick up the latest bluetooth messages. Could you use something similar in a foyer or reception area? Bottom right, library at Guildford College with a notice for students.
