LakePharma has developed a "titerless" baculovirus expression vector system (BEVS) platform that utilizes baculovirus-infected insect cell (BIIC) research cell banks for long-term storage of virus and infection kinetics monitoring (IKM) to determine optimal harvest times without plaque assays. Key advantages are accelerating protein manufacturing by weeks, improving lot-to-lot reproducibility in protein yield and quality, and easy scaling from flasks to large-scale production. IKM monitors population dynamics in infected cultures using an automated cell analyzer to determine harvest time based on cell density, viability and diameter measurements.
