Pilgrims perform several rituals during the Hajj pilgrimage including putting on the Ihram garments, spending the night at Arafah and Muzdalifah, doing the stoning of the devil in Mina, circling the Kaaba, running between Safa and Marwah hills, and shaving their head or cutting hair before returning home. The rituals take place over several days starting with putting on the Ihram on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah and ending with the farewell circling of the Kaaba before departing from Mecca.
