Music Video Treatment
Direction and Design by: Denni Hepburn

The music video I would like to do is Performance. This is because I find it would be
easier to find a location and more fun to film. This is because, after watching music
videos such as: ‘Oh Love’ and ‘Nuclear Family’ by Green Day and ‘Cheers (Drink to That)’
by Rihanna, they were fun to watch and you can see the action behind the scenes. I want
to choose a song that will attract to either a male or female audience. The song I choose
will be an Indie or Rock song; therefore this will be liked by people who are influenced
by, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Mumford & Sons or Jake Bugg.
Watching videos by these artists, I notice they are mostly Narrative videos to show what
the lyrics are trying to bring across. Videos such as; ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ by Arctic
Monkeys, ‘When You Were Young’ by The Killers, ‘Lover of the Light’ by Mumford & Sons
and ‘Two Fingers’ by Jake Bugg, tell a story. Choosing a specific genre may limit my
audience. However, I find that these bands/songs are liked by more than just “Indie”
fans.

Bottom Line: Where it happens.

So here are the few rules that I want to apply in making the music video:

   1) It is a performance based video.
   2) Close ups of equipment and band.
   3) The band can play as them. Someone to play the music recorder.
   4) We will shoot indoors.
   5) Black and white and dimmed light will be used.
   6) We need full band set-up with amps including cables and other equipment.
   7) 4 scenes I would like to consider:
           a) Setting up
           b) Equipment
           c) Band performance
           d) Listening back/editing
   8) Casual clothing.
   9) Blur will be used to follow the next scene.
