Working Title:
What is it called? Yorkshire Winter Wonderland Web Series
Audience:
My audience for the project is teenagers (13+) and adults, both males and females. Although
children will be able to watch it, it might be hard for them to understand because the questions that
I will put in the interview might be difficult for them to understand. If teenagers and adults watch it,
they will be able to understand what each question and answer means.
The Psychographics my project should include will be ‘Belonger’ because the Winter Wonderland
park is located near a city.
The Uses and Gratification of my video will be for information and social interaction because it’s
advertising a business.
Why would your project appeal to this person? My project will appeal to my intended audience
because…
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
Throughout the course, I’ve made a TV advert for Irn-Bru, an audio radio drama, a music video,
‘The Big Bang Theory’ parody/spin off, and a Drama for my client project.
During my client project, I asked someone who I didn’t know that well to be one of the actors. This
was something out of my comfort zone. This has made me decide to make this for my project
because it means going out on location and meeting new people which will help to boost my
confidence.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I’m going to make a factual project which is about Yorkshire Winter Wonderland (an annual event
that comes to York). The purpose of the project is to advertise the Winter Wonderland park and
encourage people to go because it’s a popular place to go around Christmas time.
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project. For my
research, I need to look at videos of how to film an interview because I have never filmed an
interview before. I need to look at the area it’s set in, the camera angles and the composition of the
presenters and the interviewees. This will help me prepare for the interviews I will be producing
because I will have a better idea of where to film, what camera angles to use and where all the
equipment should be set up and where the interviewees should be sat/stood. I will then research
Ice Skating videos because the Ice Rink is the main area of the park. For this I will look at the
different shots, composition, lighting, effects (e.g text describing what is happening) and post-
production to see how the footage has been edited (e.g use of transitions)
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? I need to consider whether the people I
interview want to be filmed or not. If they don’t want to be filmed then I will use a voice recorder,
and I will film events around the park, and they can play over the interview during editing. I need to
consider the location for where I film/record the interviews (should it be in a studio or should it be in
a public area where people can see the park for itself?).
For post-production, I need to think about the music because it depends on how long the video will
be. I’m planning to use a Christmas song because the project is based around a Christmas theme.

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate my work at the end of each day by writing up a development diary of what I did,
how I did something, why I made the decision I did, what went well, what didn’t go so well and
what to improve on. This will help me to progress and ready for the next project.
