The document proposes a magazine about the gaming event Insomnia 57. The magazine will inform readers about the gaming community and how it has grown. It will use informal language and bright colors to appeal to a younger audience. The magazine will have a normal amount of information and a wide range of landscape and portrait pictures. 1. Proposal
The magazine that I will be creating will be about the upcoming event
Insomnia 57, themagazine will inform loads of people about the gaming
community. The magazinewill include a wide range of content about the
game community; it will show people how the gaming community has
developed over the years and how big it has become. Also the magazine
will include pictures of eSports, games etc. The language used within the
magazine will be informal becauseI want the magazineto reach out to
the younger audience, also it will make it easier for the audience to read
the magazinebecause there isn’t going to be any big words, which the
audience wouldn’tunderstand. Within the magazine, there is going to
loads of bright colours within the magazine due to the fact that I want
the magazineto be colourfultherefore the audience that is viewing the
magazine will actually enjoy it because there is loads of colours on it. By
having bright colour on the magazine, it will show people that the
magazine is inviting and that it looks fun to read. The layout of the
magazine will have a normalamount of information on it because I don’t
want it to be too packed and not too little information. By having the
right amount of pictures and information on my magazinewill allow
loads of people to come and read the magazine due to the fact that it
isn’t too packed which will put people off if there is too much writing but
if there is the right amount of writing, the might just read it because
there isn’t too much writing that they have to read. There is going to be
a wide range of images on the magazineto makesure that the audience
is able to actually enjoy the images that are on the magazine, by having
a wide range of images on the magazine, it will allow the audience to
look at the pictures. The style of images will be landscape but there is
going to be some portraits throughout, I wantto have more landscape
pictures within the magazine becauseI want to make surethat the
audience actually see everything inside the picture. Insidethe magazine,
we will see different types of pictures within it, for example within the
magazine wewill seem some pictures of inside the event and then some
pictures outside, showing the building of the event. There isn’tgoing to
be any costumes within my pictures due to the fact that it is going to be
a gaming event where people come and play games at a massiveevent,
this means that there isn’t going to be any costumeneeded within the
magazine becauseI will be taking pictures of the event. One of the main
things on the magazine, there will be a background of the building that
the event is held in. So I will take a picture of the NBC building in

it out, by doing this is will add a bright colour to the magazine becauseif
it a nice day outside it will make the background of the magazinehave a
brighter colour due to the fact that its going to be bright outsideand the
image is going to be in the background. Thereis going to be a couple of
different fonts within the magazine, to make surethat the important
things within the magazine actually stand out. These are the different
fonts that I will be using. By having loads of differenttypes of fonts, it
will appeal to different people becauseby having fancy fonts it will allow
people to actually look at the interesting fonts on the magazine. On the
frontpage of the magazine, will have two or three different texts
because I wantto make surethat all of the texts stand out becausethey
are all different. This will also make surethat the most important
information is in another different font, for example the main heading
will have different font to the sub heading. In the double page spread,
the samefonts will be used in there justto make surethat there aren’t
too many fonts on the magazine.

Within the magazine, I need to make surethat I don’t put anything in
which I don’t have permission to use. I need to makesure that if I take a
picture of a person and they havea company’s logo on their clothes etc.
I need to get permission fromthe company that I could useit in my
magazine and if I cant, I will haveto removethe logo to make surethat I
don’t get sued. Also I need to make surethat I don’t put any negative
stereotypes within the magazine due to the fact that I don’twant to
upset anyonewhile people are reading my magazine. For example if I
had a model within my magazine, I will need to have a signed consent
fromthe model to make surethat I am able to actually use that photo of
the model. Also if someone is under the age of 16 and their going to be
in my magazine, I will haveto makesure that they are only there for 4
hours becausepeople that are under the age of 16 is only able to work
for 4 hours. So overall, I will need to make surethat if I use any product
within my magazineI will haveto makesure that I have permission from
the company to actually use the productin the magazine. Within the
magazine I will not be biased due to the fact that it might upsetsome
people if the magazine is biased.

3. The primary audience of my magazine would be 15 - 25 years old, this is
because they might wantto go to the event that I will be showing off,
also they might still be playing games and whatto read the magazine
and find out how good an event like ‘Insomnia’ is. The main reason for
why I chosethis age range becausethese people will be more
interesting in the competitive side of the games whereas younger
people may justbe playing the game for fun. By having a younger
audience this means that the magazinedoesn’t need to be packed due
to the fact that if there is too much writing on it, they might not want to
read it becausethere is too much writing on it. The socio-economic
grouping of this age rangewould E because the people that would be
going to event would havea good amount of time wherea C1 would
have less time to waste due to the fact that they mainly work in a office,
also it will allow people to go to the event while they have holidays off
school. Another reason for the socio-economic grouping is that the
people that would be going to the event may still be in education, which
means that they might not have a job. The primary gender would be
male due to the fact that most of the gaming community is male. The
secondary audienceof this magazine would be 25 - 35 becausethese
people still enjoy playing games, they might want to read about the
event if they didn’thave the time to actually go to it, the socio-economic
grouping of this age would D/C2 because these people will probably
have a good amount of time on there hand due to the fact that it’s an
averagejob and that they have a good amountof money to actually go
to the event. The secondary audience might be females due to the fact
that there is females that still love to play games.
