Put On Righteousness - Ephesians 6:14bDavid Turner
We cannot clothe ourselves in our personal righteousness, because any righteousness we have in ourselves falls short of God's standard of righteousness. Instead, we must shield our hearts with the righteousness of Christ. We are declared righteous because of his righteousness, not because of anything in ourselves. Girt Your Loins In Truth - Ephesians 6:14aDavid Turner
Paul tells the Ephesian Christians to girt their loans in truth. One's loins is the center of one being. It is the place stability. In a world which runs on the current of popular opinion it's often difficult to discern truth. Is is found in science, or philosophy, or politicians or power. Real truth is found in Jesus Christ who proclaimed, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father accept through me." This is the truth that Paul encourages the Ephesians gird their loins with. It's the same truth we ought to hold tight to our core. Let's look today at the attitude of Christ toward sin in three ways:
Toward sin which has separated man from God.
Toward sin which will result in eternal damnation.
And toward sin which nailed Christ to the cross.
Many, when trying to understand Christ tend to look only at His life on this earth.
However, to truly understand the attitude of Christ one must go back much farther.
Christ, as Deity, is eternal.

All the leaders of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century were united in proclaiming the sovereignty of God, the total depravity of man and unconditional election. On other issues, they may have had their differences, but on this point, that it is God alone who saves sinners, they spoke with one voice.
Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.

Believing is not easy. Jesus reminds us in this passage that He is from God, His teaching is from God, and that He is going to God. In this passage we find three types of responses to Him. One is from the authorities who oppose Him and want to kill Him. Some of the people see Him as a false teacher and others see him as good. Important lessons about the basis for our belief are found in this text.
The Captain of our salvation is interceding for His people. He is not a petitioner moving the Father's compassion, but a conqueror, who claims the trophies of His victory.
Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25.
The great Captain of our salvation has conquered in our behalf, that through Him we might conquer, if we would, in our own behalf. But Christ saves none against their choice. He compels none to obedience. Jesus made the infinite sacrifice that His followers might overcome in His name and His righteousness be imputed unto them.

2 cor 5:1
For we know if our earthly house, this tabernacle, is destroyed, we have a building from YHWH, a house not made with hands, eternal in YHWH. For indeed, in this we groan, earnestly longing to be invested in our house which is from YHWH— If indeed, we will be found invested with a garment, not being naked.
In this first part of The End Times series, we lay a foundation on the importance of studying Bible prophecy, the approach we take in doing so. We establish the fact that Bible prophecy is absolutely credible and reliable. We then lay some ground work by discussing regions of the world that are of importance in Bible prophecy.

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. “Perilous times are before us. Everyone who has knowledge of
the truth should awake and place himself, body, soul, and
spirit, under the discipline of God. The enemy is on our track.
We must be wide awake, on our guard against him. We must
put on the whole armor of God. We must follow the directions
given through the spirit of Prophecy. We must love and obey
the truth for this time. This will save us from accepting strong
delusions. God has spoken to us through His word. He has
spoken to us through the testimonies to the church and
through the books that have helped to make plain
our present duty and the position that we should now
occupy. The warnings that have been given, line upon line,
precept upon precept, should be heeded. If we disregard
them, what excuse can we offer?”
Testimonies for the Church Volume 8, Page 298
3. 1. Humanity can only see as far as their eye
can see and they can tell what may be of the
past, which may be their version or opinion,
known as history, but to prophecy, which is to
tell of future actions or events, only can be
told through humanity by revelation, thus
making humanity subject to the
revealer.
4. 2. The Bible as a book is unique in that it
contains literally hundreds of prophecies that
span thousands of years and that have
witnessed equally as many fulfillments. Only
the Bible, as the word of God, has proven
consistently reliable in its predictions dealing
with empires, nations, civilizations,
and events, often very specific and
detailed in their coverage.
5. 3.It Is YHWH who revealeth secrets:-
Amos 3:7
“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing,
but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the
prophets.”
6. 4. YHWH desire that all men be prophets:
Num.11:25-29“And the LORD came down in
a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of
the spirit that was upon him, and gave it
unto the seventy elders: and it came to
pass, that, when the spirit rested upon
them, they prophesied, and did not cease…..
7. [26] But there remained two of the men in the
camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the
name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested
upon them; and they were of them that were
written, but went not out unto the tabernacle:
and they prophesied in the camp.
[27] And there ran a young man, and told
Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do
prophesy in the camp….
8. [28] And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of
Moses, one of his young men, answered and
said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
[29] And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for
my sake? would God that all the LORD's people
were prophets, and that the LORD would put
his spirit upon them!,”
9. 1Sam.10:11,12 “And it came to pass, when all
that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he
prophesied among the prophets, then the
people said one to another, What is this that is
come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among
the prophets?
[12] And one of the same place answered
and said, But who is their father? Therefore it
became a proverb, Is Saul also among the
prophets?”
10. 1Cor.14:1-5“Follow after charity, and desire
spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
[2] For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue
speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no
man understandeth him;
howbeit in the spirit he speaketh
mysteries.
[3]But he that prophesieth speaketh
unto men to edification, and exhortation, and
comfort.
11. [4] He that speaketh in an unknown tongue
edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth
edifieth the church.
[5] I would that ye all spake with tongues, but
rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that
prophesieth than he that speaketh with
tongues, except he interpret, that the
church may receive edifying..
12. 5.Prophecy points us to obedience:-
Rev.1:3,“Blessed is he that readeth, and they
that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep
those things which are written therein: for the
time is at hand….
Rev.22:7,“Behold, I come quickly: blessed
is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy
of this book.”
13. 6. In the Old Testament, there are 16 different prophets which authored
17 books of prophecy. Prophecy is categorized in the following:-
Prophetic
Knowledge=Faith
Prophetic Physical
History
Prophetic
Reciprocal
History
Endtime
Prophecy
Messianic
Prophecy
Classic
Prophecy
14. 7. JESUS is identified in scripture as above all the prophets:-
Acts.3:22-26
“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise
up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things
whatsoever he shall say unto you.
[23] And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that
prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
[24] Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many
as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
[25] Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God
made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the
kindreds of the earth be blessed.
[26] Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you,
in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
15. 8. YHWH is the source of all true prophecy:-
Isa.46:9,10
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there
is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
[10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient
times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel
shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”
16. Isa.44:6,7
“Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the
LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me
there is no God.
[7] And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in
order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the
things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto
them.”
17. Isa.44:21-26
“Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of
Jacob.
[22] Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former
things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or
declare us things for to come.
[23] Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea,
do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
[24] Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that
chooseth you.
[25] I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun
shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as
the potter treadeth clay.
[26] Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that
we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that
declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.”
18. 9.Prophecy means: “A prediction of a future event,
especially when made under
divine influence or direction.”
Prophet means: “One who delivers the divine message
or interpreted God’s will which generally
entailed foretelling the future.”
19. 10. The prophet’s function is twofold:-[A] To forth tell.
[B] To foretell.
Forth Tell:-Sets forth the message of the Lord by
teaching, warning, exhorting, and comforting.
Foretelling:-Involves the prediction of the future, whether of
people and nation or of Jesus’ coming reign.
20. 11.Purpose of Bible Prophecy:-
1.Bible prophecies provide a whole range of information
related to the divine plan that is useful to the believer. Such
knowledge strengthens and stimulates the Lord’s people. It
enables them to be spiritually awake and provides the tools
needed to be about [the] Father’s business.
Lk.21:28 “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look
up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
2. They reveals the steady progress that is
being made in the outworking and final
culmination of that plan.
21. 11.Purpose of Bible Prophecy:-
3. The creation, existence and punishment of Israel, the coming of
Messiah in his role as Suffering Servant, the lease of power to the
gentile nations, the rise of the Antichrist system and the persecution of
the saints, the cleansing of the sanctuary, and many others were all
predicted in Scripture and find clear fulfillments in history. Thus step by
step we are able to recognize the approach of the climax of God’s
purpose in the establishment of his kingdom and the blessing of
mankind.
4. Provides another era of enlightenment is in the end time
prophecies relating to the end of the age. There are
forecasts of the harvest of the gospel age, the great
time of trouble, the day of judgment, and church’s
returning favor. All of these and more have enabled the Lord’s
people to be fully aware of the significance of the
distressing events taking place about them.
