I intend my music video to be distributted (distributed) via several music channels. The video ideally,
would be aired on Kerrange, NME and MTV2 due to the genre of the music, (.) research showing me
that the viewers of these channels fit the criteria of target audience for the band. (Research has
shown me that the viewers of these channels fit in with the criteria of the target audience)
However as the band are not signed to a label, it is unlikely for them to be considered for air time on
all of these channels. Bearing in mind I do believe that the video would receive a sufficient audience
from the NME channel. As they are known to show new and un-signed talent, this is also the case
for MTV2 channels on occasions. The video will be distributed via DVD accompanying the single.
One restriction that the video may have for being aired on these channels, Is that, it does contains
one swearword, and therefore would need to be either aired after the watershed or edited so that
the swearword is muted or overdubbed. However The release of the DVD with the Single (single)
will not be an issue as the single itself will already have been regulated.
The competition that I face is predominantly from other bands or artists. of the same calibre as
(These bands would be similar to Jealous Fingers.) There is a heavy competition for air time in the
music industry, therefore the quality of the video will have to be to off (of) a certain standard. As
well as this, However, the band has been gaining (gained) local press, such as radio air time and
coverage in the local paper. As well as this They have done fairly well in several nationwide
competitions, therefore they do seem to have some sort of an edge over their rivals.
