2. The mutual feature s between our
product the music video, our digipak
for the album and the website of the
star, you can see straight away that
our star is represented well through
these ancillary texts . Which means
that the viewers can easily know that
the website and digipak are linked in
with the star of the video , they
would know that the website and
digipak are produced for the star. The
colours of the video and mise en
scene are dark, as he is wearing navy
blue and grey jacket which suggests
a murky meaning as the song genre
is R&B which mostly have deep
thoughts in the music. Also, the
hoody he is wearing shows that R&B
has an urban factor to it.
3. The other effective way of getting
connections amongst my ancillary
texts was by using the logo , and the
house style of the logo was kept
consistent in the digipak and the
website, because we kept the logos in
both the same font and colour, we
did this so that we wanted our target
viewers and audience to know the
connection between the ancillary
texts and the genre R&B. The album
is named empire which sounds
professional and high end, so we used
a font which conforms it, in by some
means we confronted the genre look
by not having a font that really
conforms the genre.
4. When filming the video we came across
locations that had a strong urban look,
with graffiti all over the walls which fits in
with the R&B genre , so we made our
digipak have the same concept, with a
graffiti background as this means again it
imitates the urban and the inner city
look, they both fit in with the genre R&B.
On the digipak we made the CD parts
have a graffiti background, the colouring
of the CD parts are dark and grey , it
further conforms with the urban area .
