PSITE is interested in learning another academic ecosystem in ASEAN member country. For this year, the Society believes that Jakarta, Indonesia can meet its expectations being listed as a global city in the 2008 Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC) research. The Indonesia educational tour aims to:
1. To explore, get-to-know, and learn the research and development ecosystem.
2. To learn the countryâs outcomes-based education (OBE) best practices.
3. To learn the countryâs preparation in line with the ASEAN 2015 integration.
4. To build a possible network with emphasis on knowledge sharing, faculty & student exchange, internship and immersion programs and service-learning.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Â
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But thereâs more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, youâll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the âApproveâ button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
Butâif the âRejectâ button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Â
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

2. Presentation Outline
ïWhat is Digital Humanities?
ïGoals and Objectives of Digital
Humanities
ïResearch Opportunities in Digital
Humanities
ïChallenges in Digital Humanities
ïThe Philippine Initiative
3. What is Digital Humanities (DH)?
Study Research Teaching Invention
Computing
Humanities
Investigation
Analysis Synthesis
Implementation
electronic formelectronic form
4. DHâs Goal
Traditional arts &humanities
disciplines
electronic publication and
computational analysis, in project
design and visualisation, in data
archiving and retrieval
5. DH and Its Research Opportunities
as model or
mimicry
as a way of
reasoning
as a set of
ontological
commitments
as shaped by the
need for efficient
computation
Formal
Expression
6. DH as model or mimicry
Example
ïA catalogue record (vs.full-text
representation)
âŠit captures and makes explicit certain
attributes of the original object â title,
author, publication date, number of pages,
topical reference. It obviously omits others
â the full text of the book, for example.
7. DH as a way of reasoning
Examples
ï A concordance.
âŠassumes that verbal patterns in a text are a key to the
meaning of that text.
âŠit would support certain kinds of stylistic analysis,
ï A relational database.
âŠestablishes the grounds of rational inference by
establishing fields in records in tables
âŠactually recommends certain kinds of queries by
establishing relationships between elements of
different tables.
8. DH as a set of ontological
commitments
Examples
ï Ordered Hierarchy of Content Objects
⊠content objects nest â paragraphs occur within chapters,
chapters in volumes, and so on.
⊠that a language that captures ordered hierarchical relationships
and allows content to be carried within its expression of those
relationships can capture what matters about text.
ï Deborah Parker's Dante Project:
⊠has marked up all of the cantos, stanzas, and lines in Dante's
poem, and then all of the proper names and epithets,
distinguishing mythical, historical, biblical, and literary sources,
different types of animals, different types of people, regularizing
forms of proper names, etc.
9. DH as shaped by the need for efficient
computation
Examples
ï Markup and computation.
âŠThe reason for requiring that elements nest
properly within a specified hierarchy is to enable
efficient computation.
ï Latent semantic indexing.
⊠Compare the characteristics of the
concordance, and its efficiencies, with those of
latent semantic indexing
10. DH as shaped by the need for human
communication
Example
ïThe difficulty of using markup
languages.
11. DH and Formal Expression
ï âŠit puts DH in the position of having to do two things that
mostly, in the humanities, we don't do: provide
unambiguous expressions of ideas, and provide
them according to stated rules.
ï In short, once we begin to express our understanding of, say,
a literary text in a language such as XML, a formal grammar
that requires us to state the rules according to which we will
deploy that grammar in a text or texts, then we find that our
representation of the text is subject to verification â for
internal consistency, and especially for consistency with the
rules we have stated.
12. Challenges in Academic Recognition
ï Socially this has to do with the slow pace of institutional
change.
ï Intellectually it has to do with the curious, poorly understood
nature of non-verbal knowledge-bearing objects
ï Curatorially it raises the serious problem of how such
knowledge-bearing objects are to be preserved for the long
term.
ï Culturally it runs afoul of the low status commonly given to
works of popular culture -- multimedia, documentaries,
interactive games and other visual media -- which tend to be
dismissed as entertainment.
ï Standards: open vs proprietary
15. Summary and Recommendation
ï It involves experts in both research and
teaching; in all of the
ïtraditional arts and humanities disciplines
(history, philosophy, linguistics, literature, art,
archaeology, and music of many cultures, for
example);
ïspecialists in electronic publication and
computational analysis, in project design and
visualisation, in data archiving and retrieval.
16. Summary and Recommendation
ïbegin to integrate DH in any of your
classroom projects, such as the use of
text-analytic techniques; GIS;
commons-based peer collaboration;
interactive games and multimedia in the
research and teaching of history,
philosophy, literature, religious studies
or sociology.
17. Concluding Remark
ïLet us help preserve our
local knowledge and let us
share our culture through
Digital Humanities
