The project was about creating a visual programming in the application Kodu. We
designed a cycle and the objective was to solve problems with learnt skills. We used
computer codes and designed a game.
In the project, we worked on the planning on certain characters to complement our
games. The type of game I choose to create was arcade. As in usual arcade games, there
were good and bad characters who attacked you. The objects i used were not complex at
all. Apples, trees and some towers in corners etc. My world was not really exciting
however it was very colorful and shiny which i think called a lot of people’s attention. The
most complex programming of the game was the one of the main character. The red
cycle. The programming was extremely big and long. It had two pages of programming,
however one page had more programming than the other one.
In the project a lot of things went well, for example. At the end my game was a success,
my characters were as exactly as i wanted them to be. they did what i wanted to do, and
what happened was what i wanted to happen. For example, At the star the main character
was killed when hit by only one missil. I did not want that to happen so, i programmed it
to damage me only as much as i wanted to be damaged. however not all in my game was
good, I wanted to add a lot more things to it. I could not figure out how to respawn in a
certain place after i died. I don't even think that it is possible. another thing that went bad
was that i wanted to make my land a lot more creative than it was. however i made it
more creative than it was at the start.
In conclusion my game was very very good and i am glad i could do was i did. However
some things could have been a lot much better for example, as i said, i needed more
time. It was very fun and interesting. I really like the idea of creating our own 3D video
game, with our own created characters. Some things i did not like about Kodu were that
it was always asking me for an update, if i did not update the game, Kodu would not work
