  • 1. Capturing progress We are learning how and where to capture progress.
  • 2. Progress bar 0% 100% Use the progress bar as a mini-plenary tool to capture progress. • Add the time to track progress • Use as an intervention tool • Great for embedding numeracy • Can be used as a self assessment/reflective tool
  • 3. What does progress look like? The progress judgement covers a number of areas, notably: • Skills • Knowledge • Levels of resilience • The ability to work independently • The ability of your learners to articulate their learning
  • 4. Six characteristics that enable progress to flourish 1) Teachers allow _____ for students to think and create learning over and above that linked to the _________ _______________. 2) Teachers ______ their role to a minimum so as not to dominate the learning and thereby allow learners maximum _________ of their learning. 3) Learners show high levels of ________, _______, ___________ and ________ to and with everyone. 4) Learners design and create their own learning experience simply by being given _______. 5) Learning is realigned as a result of ____, _____ and ________-led progress checks. 6) The learners and the teacher look _______, share a ______ and enjoy the lesson.

  • 9. Mini plenaries to capture progress… You have 60 seconds to sum up your learning/progress In exactly 14 words – sum up your progress… (can use telephone number for extra challenge!) Progress graph – map out the times of the lesson and track progress.
  • 10. Mini plenaries to capture progress… Use a progress display – students move themselves up their own display. Progress speedometer! Students pick out the PLT skill they’ve made the progress on and justify.
