The Positive Government Did you know that the government has helped over
306,804,000 (Jeffrey) people and families just from the last four years alone? Since
1789, the government has been finding ways to try and help citizens deal with
poverty and other economic crisis . From creating the Constitution and abolishing
slavery, the government has started to create programs to help certain people and
families overcome other rising issues. The government has been successful in
creating these programs that support the needs of the citizens who require them.
People would suggest that the government has affected society in a negative way but,
different credibilities would beg to differ. The government has influenced society in a
positive way by creating programs such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI),
General Public Assistance (GPA) and Social Securityto help citizens conquer poverty.
In the 1930s, Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected as our 32nd president. One of his
first acts as president was, he sent 15 major bills to congress to try and pick up the
mess that our previous president, Herbert Hoover, left for us (Glencoe The American

The Texas anti abortion law has taken the country s attention by storm. It is an
issue on many different woman s minds, especially those who live in the state of
Texas. The new laws are forcing many woman to have to cross state lines in order
to receive an abortion and medical care. This includes woman who needs abortions
due to preexisting medical conditions and those who are carrying fetuses which are
diseased and are expected not to be born as healthy babies. The TexasGovernor Rick
Perry and Senator Ted Cruz are leading the fight for the abortionlaws to become
permanent, laws that are considered the strictest abortion laws that this country has
ever seen. In October 2013, a Judge quickly ruled the law unconstitutional under the

Although Judd Apatow s acclaimed comedy Girls is airing its last episodes, his
newest HBO half hour comedy Crashing is keeping the quirky and hilarious ball
