The student cut the shape of a wood stool by first drawing a circle with pencil and then using three different saws - a tenon saw, gents saw, and pull saw - to cut away the extra wood. They felt tired but good about finishing the cutting. For the next steps, they plan to file the project to make it less uncomfortable to touch and more circular in shape.

MARCH 28, 2011 MONDAY
CUT THE TOP OF THE STOOL
WHAT I DID:
Today, i continued cutting the shape of the wood. I started to cutting the circle
shape. I had used many tools for cutting the shape of that circle. First, i used pencil to
draw the shape of the circle, to make sure that i will cutting on the right place. Then I
started to cutting the extra space next to the circle. I had used tenon saw to started it,
because i think tenon saw is more easier for start, then i used gents saw cause there is no
extra pull saw for me, Grace borrow me the pull saw i started to cut it really fast and it was
easier than gents saw and tenon saw. I think i did really well today, because i did really
work and i finished the shape. It is really a circle now.
WHY?
The reason why i cut the extra space of the wood is that i need to make it looks like
a circle, then i will draw lines on there to shows the peace sign.
WHAT NEXT?
I think i will start to file my project a little bit, because it feels really uncomfortable
when i touch it, and i will also make it more like a circle.
EMOTION:
Today, i feel really good and a little bit tired with my hands and arms. The reason
why i feel really good is that i cut my project a lot today and i didn’t did anything wrong with
the project, and i also get good feedback when i finished it.
CHANGES TO YOU PLAN:
I think the only thing that was changes to my plan was that i thought i will be only
used one tool for cutting the extra space, but i used 3 different types of saw to cutting it.
AOI:
I think the AOI related to our class today was HUMAN INGENUITY, because we are
human, then we are making and cutting stuff. Health was related to our class today too, we
were wearing the apron to protect ourselves. Communicate was also related to our class
today also, we talk with classmates and make suggestion of other people’s project.
