1. Marking Out And Cutting Wood For Footstool
Due:Friday, March 25, 2011
What did you do today?: Today I mark out a
piece of wood for my footstool. I am marking the
legs of the footstool. The shape of it is in a book
style
What did you use?: I used a pencil to mark out
the wood,’G’ clamp,tennon saw, try square to get
a 90º angle and I used a steel rule to get a perfect
straight line.
Why did I do this the way I did it?: I did it Getting a right angle using a tri-
because if I get the right measurement, I dont
have to waste my time cutting the wood if it’s not
marked out properly.
What did I do well?: I did well in being forcused on my project and being quiet.

What did you do today?: Today I finish cutting out the legs for
my stool. l started to cut out my legs support. I made the legs
support so that it can fit the legs. I had to first mark out the
support before cutting it.

What did you do today?: Today I finish cutting out the legs support for my stool. l
started to smooth out my legs support. I made the legs

the support and leg and attaching them as well. I had to mark
out the pieces of wood before drilling it. I also had to smooth
the inside curves using a pedestal drill with a barrel sander bit.
What did you use?: I used a pencil to mark out the wood,
pedestal drill, disc-sander to smooth in the straight
parts ,apron to protect me, cordless drill, screw driver and a
bench vice.

rough garnet paper to smooth off the sharp edges. I also had to find a book cover to
make my stool look more like a book. I picked lordloss because it is a good book. I also
started to paint my footstool.
