Marking Out And Cutting Wood For Footstool

What did you do today?: Today I mark out a
piece of wood for my footstool. I am marking the
legs of the footstool. The shape of it is in a book
style

What did you use?: I used a pencil to mark out
the wood,’G’ clamp,tennon saw, try square to get
a 90º angle and I used a steel rule to get a perfect
straight line.

Why did I do this the way I did it?: I did it Getting a right angle using a tri-
because if I get the right measurement, I dont
have to waste my time cutting the wood if it’s not
marked out properly.

What did I do well?: I did well in being forcused on my project and being quiet.

What was the process for today?: I just measured and marked out the piece of wood.

What did you do today?: Today I finish cutting out the legs for
my stool. l started to cut out my legs support. I made the legs
support so that it can fit the legs. I had to first mark out the
support before cutting it.

What did you do today?: Today I finish cutting out the legs support for my stool. l
started to smooth out my legs support. I made the legs
support so that it can fit the legs. I am making it straight
and smooth.

pedestal drill, disc-sander to smooth in the straight
parts ,apron to protect me, cordless drill, screw driver and a
bench vice.

Attaching And Smoothing Legs

Smoothing Sharp Edges And Filling The
Gaps
Putting the wood filler. Date: Monday , May 23th, 2011

What did you do today?: Today I Smoothed out the sharp corners. I first used a file to
smooth the corners up. After that I had to used the rough sanding paper the that it goes
smoother. Then, I had to fill in the gaps with wood filler.

and bench vice.

Trimming Of the the top of the top

What did you do today?: Today I made a rectange 1
millimeter deep gap for me to put a book cover to
match the theme of my book. I used the trimmer route

What did you do today?: Today I did the final smooth up to my footstool. I had to use
rough garnet paper to smooth off the sharp edges. I also had to find a book cover to
make my stool look more like a book. I picked lordloss because it is a good book. I also
started to paint my footstool.

What did you use?: I used a pencil to mark out the wood, bench hock, Smoothen
plan , garnet paper with sanding block, paint,paint brush, paint pallet and bench vice.

there is not sharp edges so that we don’t hurt ourselfs. I had to paint the stool so that
the stool does not show that wood. Also I put the book cover so that the stool l will look
like a book.

well in picking the right book cover because it matched the color of the paint. I also did
well in smoothing all the sharp parts
