The student spent the first 3 weeks planning and beginning construction of their robot model, creating the main body and eyes. In weeks 1-3 they added additional parts like the radar and grenade launcher. Weeks 4-6 were spent working on the treads, which were the most difficult part, with fixes needed to prevent holes. By week 6 the treads were complete. Weeks 7-8 involved rendering the model in a 3D program and completing the accompanying design documentation.

(EDIT: I wouldhave like toaddmore detail tothe
launcherpipesbymakingthemactually hollow
insteadof a whole object) andthe exhaust,
addinga few detailsonthe bodyforthe sake of
looks.IthentexturedwhatIhad so far: the
body,the eye,the radar,the grenade launcher,
and the exhausts.
Week4 of HA8 In the fourthweekIbeganworkon the main
bodyof the treads.Thiswas the hardestpart of
the model,soittook the longesttofigure out.
Week5 of HA8 Week5 was spenttinkeringwiththe bodyof the
treads.The problemwasthat there were holes
throughthe sides,makingithard to model with.
I managedto fix itbycutting outone of the sides
of the treadbodythenextrudingitby -1mm to
make it double sided,thenextrudeditbackto
full size andmoveditbackto the mainmodel.
Week6 of HA8 In week6 I made the actual treads forthe tank,
and got themall inplace.I made sure to finisha
whole processformodellingandtexturingthe
treadso I wouldn’thave todo themall
separately.
I thenstarteddoingthe renderingsof the model
inLightwave.
Week7 of HA8 In Week7 I finishedthe renderingsinLightwave
thenmovedontothe designpack.
Week8 of HA8 In Week8 I finishedthe designpackandfinished
off HA8 entirely.
