This production log documents Christopher Simpson's progress in creating a 3D model of a sidekick robot for a games design course. Over the course of several weeks, Christopher completed prerequisite tasks like a project schedule, mood board, and Lightbot tutorial. He then began modeling individual components of the sidekick in Lightwave, such as scanned images and complex objects. Christopher encountered challenges along the way but was able to solve problems through tools like the Magic Bevel tool and techniques like using Illustrator to create wheel components. By the end, he added finishing touches like a broken arm modeled through extruded and twisted circles.

Thursday I created my project schedule which I feel that I only created because it was one of the tasks, I didn’t really use to it manage my time because I feel that I should use it because I
7.03.13 can prove to be very helpful at times.
Saturday I Completed my Mood board and my ideas map which I found extremely helpful for ideas for my robot, I took a lot of inspiration from a lot of the pictures on my mood board and
9.03.13 adapting them to the ideas on my mood board.
Wednesday I Finished my Lightbot Extremely late to when it should have been completed but I found this task very useful and I have learned a lot from this tutorial.

Thursday Started my Production log and I started to create my sidekick, I started by putting the scanned images in illustrator and taking the difficult to create objects of the sidekick and
14.03.13 drawing them out, I then imported them into Lightwave and modelled them into the shape I wanted. It took me a while to get the hang of using Lightwave without
tutorial/guides but I got used to it pretty quickly.
2. Friday Today while I was creating I had encountered a problem where I had to make pipes for my middle section and I found it very tedious to get Extruded Circles to look likes pipers
15.03.13 but I was introduced to the ‘Magic bevel’ Tool which I quote ‘Saved my life’ this tool is the best tool on modeller in my opinion and it saved me an enormous amount of time.
I also Encountered a problem in creating the triangular tracks that I use for wheels, but I was shown to take my sketch into illustrator, create 3 points and then create an
equilateral triangle which I then imported into Modeller extruded and I had my wheels, I then added bevelled rectangles to give it more of a track feel.
3. Thursday While putting the finishing touches on my sidekick I had encountered another problem in making the ‘Broken’ arm where I couldn’t make Wire/Caballing very well with just the
21.03.13 magic bevel tool, but I would shown that I could create 4 Identical circles, I then extruded them and twisted them to create a more of a wire feeling to the arm, I then magic
bevelled the ends to make it look like it has flayed
