Product Leadership: Embrace a New Mindset

Editor's Notes

  • #2 I imagine you came here today looking for answers. For expertise. or perhaps a new perspective to help you open your mind and think differently about your product challenges. Or maybe its to run from those challenges and network over some drinks this evening in the hopes of a new job?   I'm here to tell you the biggest problem putting at risk our companies, in delivering the best products to our customers, is us. Our egos, our unconscious biases, our deep down desire to succeed and for problems to be caused by forces beyond our control.   If you are anything like me, you regularly make mistakes. But do you embrace them? Do you spend time trying to understand your mistakes? Are you learning from them fast enough?   Particularly, as the pace of change continues to accelerate. We are all competing to deliver the new benchmark product experiences that will secure our products in our customers hearts and minds.

We are all competing to deliver the new benchmark product experiences that will secure our products in our customers hearts and minds.   To do that, we need to create a culture that values inclusion, diversity, empowerment & above all else - one where we embrace our failures to learn and grow from them - ideally as fast as possible.
