Process Analysis Essay
Crafting a Process Analysis Essay can be a formidable task, demanding a unique blend of
analytical skills, clarity of thought, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in
the meticulous understanding of the chosen process but also in the ability to convey it to the
reader in a coherent and engaging manner.
Firstly, the writer must select a process that is both interesting and suitable for analysis. Whether
it's a complex scientific procedure or a routine daily activity, the challenge lies in breaking it
down into comprehensible steps. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify the
essential components of the process, without overwhelming the reader with unnecessary
information.
Once the process is chosen and understood, the next hurdle is organizing the essay logically. A
seamless flow of ideas is crucial, guiding the reader through each step with clarity. Ensuring that
the instructions are easy to follow while maintaining a sophisticated writing style adds an
additional layer of complexity. Achieving this balance requires a mastery of language and a deep
understanding of the target audience.
Moreover, the challenge is not just in the technical aspects but also in maintaining the reader's
interest. The essay must go beyond a mere list of steps and engage the audience with insightful
explanations, real-life examples, or creative approaches. This demands creativity and a knack for
turning mundane processes into captivating narratives.
Editing is another aspect that adds to the difficulty. Ensuring the essay is free from grammatical
errors, maintains a consistent tone, and adheres to the conventions of academic writing can be
time-consuming and demanding.
In conclusion, the process of creating a Process Analysis Essay involves navigating through
various challenges – from selecting the right process to breaking it down into understandable
steps, organizing the information logically, maintaining reader engagement, and ensuring
impeccable writing quality. It's a task that demands a combination of analytical, organizational,
and creative skills.

Summary Of Civil Peace
Civil Peace is a story of faith. It is a story to which I know that the events and
experiences that the main character, Jonathan, experiences can directly relate to my
own life, as well as my opinions on my view of the world. Nothing puzzles God
(Achebe) is what Jonathan says continually throughout the story. This shows his
opinions on what has happened in his life so far, and how he feels he should react to
what happens. For his great amount of faith is shown throughout the story, and I feel
as though I am much like that of Jonathan.
This text of Civil Peace has an abundant amount of meaning to me personally.

I found that once I started reading this work of literature, I did not put it down until
it was read completely from beginning to end. Achebe does an excellent job at
portraying a story that displays this strong display of faith through a man and his
family. I found that I could relate to this story wholeheartedly, and because of this I
was interested in the piece for every bit of it. The overall attitude of Jonathan gave
me a sense of understanding, and I could see where the way that I felt regarding faith
and what happens in my life was identical to that of
Essay on Sweat Zora Neale Hurston
Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston is filled with many religious symbolism. Good versus
evil plays a large role in the development of Delia and Skype Jones, as characters.
The story is about Delia, an African American woman who is a washwoman for
whites. Delia consistently looks to her religion for guidance and support as she
endures the many hardships that she faces because, which are caused by her abusive
husband and unfaithful husband, Sykes. Delia and Sykes Jones is a couple that have
opposite moral values, but yet they are tied together through marital vows, that no
longer have much importance or value. Delia Jones is portrayed as the Protagonist
and a very modest woman of weakness who later gains the strength to stand u to her...

Since Sykes is the one creating these scare tactics to Delia, he can also be seen as a
symbol of evil, which he becomes the evil antagonist of the story. These two
instances could also be seen in the religious aspect with Adam and Eve. Another
symbol that was present in the story was the dark grey sky. The dark grey sky
symbolically means evil, remorse, and sadness. The dark grey sky came about
when the snake Sykes used to scare Delia with, bites and kills him. While Sykes
was dying, he was now feeling remorse for all his evil doings that he has done to
Delia, so we think because he was calling out for her after the snake had bitten him.
As the sky clears the story brings about another last symbol. Eventually, at the end
of the story is when the reader can really see the Good vs. Evil. Sykes soon begins to
reap is sowing (par26), when he comes home and is killed by the snake, the one
thing that he had used to scare Delia with so bad that she would leave, or die even.
As Sykes is dying the sky begins to clear and the sun begins to rise. The clear, light
sky and the sun represents freedom, purity, and peace, and the clear sky can also
represent the Delia s character as well as the white clothes that were mentioned in
the beginning of the story. In all the symbols that were present in the story, the most
important symbol was Delia s sweat. Delia s work worn knees crawled

Western World Religion
Although there were many different aspects that played into the shaping of Western
society, religion was the most influential. That s not to say that religion was able to
do that alone, but it seems that no matter what was happening during the course of
the last several hundred years, religion played a part. Without the efforts of Luther,
Zwingli, Calvin, and many others who were willing to stick their necks out for
religious freedom. Bucking the system and questioning the status quo was exactly
the theme of every major development in the Western world. The following words
from Martin Luther help to bring together an idea that sparked progression and
reform that began in the early 1500s and is still in motion today:

God s right, or the divine right of kings, led to many civilizations under the
direction of rule by those who were only in that position because of religious
standing. Thanks to the actions of political reformers, many nations began
adopting policies that were more representative of their inhabitants. They weren t
perfect to begin with, and many countries were ruled by emperors who claimed to
be progressive but were clinging on to ideas that would further their own agendas.
They were called enlightened despots. Catherine the Great was one of those rulers.
She had many great ideas and was seen by most of her people as a friend of
Enlightenment. However, she had a greater desire to be views as an enlightened
leader, rather than actually being one. When Catherine suspended meetings of a
Legislative Committee aimed at giving a voice to all due to her lack of order, it
led many to believe that there were aspects of her persona that were simply for
show (Boeve, Schrijvers, Stoker, Vroom, 2006). However, even a glimmer of
progression showed that the once unheard of actions of religious reformists was
beginning to have an impact on all facets of
Persuasive Essay On The Moment Of The Body
I am currently recovering from an operation on my knee that occurred right before
school started. It was specifically a knee arthroscopy and loose body removal. It
started 2 years ago when I was playing soccer. It was the second day of tryouts and I
was doing well. At one point our goalie had the ball and was looking at me. I back
pedaled then quickly tried to turn my body left and run forward while my
momentum was bringing me back. This was not a good combination of motions as I
twisted and fell. I ended up dislocating my left kneecap and tearing my medial
patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) which holds your knee cap from moving outwards.
It was not only the twisting motion that caused this, I also have a shallow groove
where the small bonerests. This causes it to move side to side more rather than
staying in the straight path so a part of it was genetic (Minimally). I got an MRI of
my knee to confirm the doctor s thoughts and to make sure nothing else was
damaged. A very tiny piece of cartilage broke off and was floating Luckily there was
no other
problems with anything else inside me. The MPFL is one of the few ligaments
that can repair itself after being torn unlike an ACL which requires surgery and up
to a year of recovery. I was given a knee immobilizer to wear and keep on for three
months. This caused disuse atrophy where the muscles get weak and shrink due to
a lack of use. I then went to physical therapy to rebuild and strengthen my knee. My
MPFL was repaired but not as strong as before so if I increase the size of the
muscle around, it can help hold the knee in place. After two months of PT I was
given a brace to wear when playing sports to help prevent this from happening again.
728 days, almost two years, passed since I got hurt the first time. I was working at
a summer camp. It was later on in the day so there were not that many kids there,
most of them had been picked up. The kids wanted me to go outside so I could
watch them on the playground. I was walking up on the flat road when my knee
buckled. I did not expect to hurt it again just by walking but I did. My doctor, Dr.
Abrutyn, first checked an x ray to then ordered an MRI which determined that I had
dislocated my kneecap again and bruised
Effects of the Cold War in Nicaragua Essays
The Cold War was a period in history right after WWII ended and it ended in 1991,
when the USSR broke apart. The conflict was between two types of governments: the
communists and the capitalism (democrats). The USSR represented the communist
side, while the U.S. represented the democrats. Both countries had nuclear weapons
and did not want to fight each other directly because they didn t want a Mutually
Assured Destruction (MAD), so they fought through other countries, by Proxy Wars.
The global tensions in Cold Waraffected a few countries in a couple of regions, for
example Central America. The involvement of the United States aided Nicaragua
economically, militarily, and politically.

BBC, 06 May 2004. Web. 13 May 2014). Since the National Guard didn t have that
many people, they started recruiting farmers who were kicked out because of the
new farming system that the Sandinistas started using. The second group was lead
by a dissatisfied Sandinistas leader, Eden Pastora. He set up two groups in Honduras
called the contras , or counter revolutionary forces. Reagan wanted to support
contras economically and he stated that quite openly; however, a lot of U.S. citizens
did not like that. During that time, in 1985, a war between Iran and Iraq took place.
Even though the U.S. publicly supported Iraq, the government also secretly assisted
Iran. Among those years Iran asked the United States for help with weaponry. It is
illegal to sell weapons to the hostages but Regan still thought it would help him and
the U.S. One of the reasons why he did it was because he wanted to take control in
the problematic Middle East and selling weapons to Iran would improve the relations
with Iran and Lebanon. At the same time Reagan wanted to free the seven hostages
that were held by Iranian terrorist and even though he strongly supported the rule of
not negotiating with terrorists, he broke the rule by supplying Iran with weapons.
After receiving money from Iran, Regan sponsored contras using that money. The
United States had also supplied the contras with weapons and equipment. After the
clandestine deal between the two countries was published in the
Dystopian Society
Many novels, as well as video games, deal with texts of the dystopic genre.
Dystopia has become an instrumental form of literature in all countries; however,
some texts are better at relaying their message than others. For example, in the
video game, The Last of Us, the two protagonists, one adult male and one young
girl, fight through hordes of the infected . They do so in order to save mankind
from utter extinction. Despite being a video game, this text captures the
quintessential elements needed in order to become a relatable piece of work and
does so by making both Joel and Ellie (the protagonists) truthful characters. In
addition to The Last of Us, the novel The Running Man, by Steven King, also deals
with the topic of dystopia. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He soon approaches what looks like an injured man; however, the man was not
injured and attempts to kill Joel and Ellie to steal his truck. This is a prime
example of the modified human nature present in dystopian societies. In an attempt
to preserve what human kindness Joel has left , he ends up in a situation much
like that of Richards in The Running Man, creating a similarity in the two story
arcs. The use of clichГ© as a rhetoric device is present in both Richards, and Joel
and Eli s lives, and serves as one of the reasons why both story arcs hold the
attention of the player/reader. However, The Last of Us serves as a much more
relatable situation for the player than that of the reader of Stephen King s famous
novel, due to the realism and player emersion that the game provides. The Last of
Us puts the dystopian society into the hands of anyone that can hold a controller,
yet still provides a meaningful plot with character development to bout. The length
of the game in itself is an effective way to persuade the player of its meaning, and
the dangers of a potential future. For the average player, it can take anywhere
from 15 to 30 hours of playing time to complete the storyline for The Last of Us,
constantly driving home the nature of the dystopian society. The fact that The
Last of Us is a video game too makes it much more accessible and appealing to the
younger generations. While Stephen King is a legendary author in his own right,
it can be intimidating for someone to read one of his novels. Along with this
comes the general growth of technology, and the fact that paperbacks are soon
becoming irrelevant. The dramatic increase in technology makes a video game
much more likely to get selected over a novel for leisure, regardless of the topic that
each chooses to address. This is what makes The Last of Us a more realistic option
for the spreading awareness of

The Physical Journey In The Odyssey And The Kite Runner
The physical journey of a character plays a central role in the book and influences
many parts of it. Both The Odyssey and The Kite Runner, have main characters that
go through a physical journey for different reasons that impacts their lives in many
ways. By introspecting the books themes, archetypes, and symbols, it is more
comprehensible. In The Odysseyand The Kite Runner both, the physical journey
augments to the meaning of the books in total.
An important theme that relates to the physical journey in The Kite Runner is the
past. The influence of the past affects Amir in his life as we see from the very first
sentence of the book until the end. I became what I am today at the age of twelve,
on a frigid overcast day in the winter of the 1975... That was a long time ago, but it
s wrong what they say about the past, I ve learned, about how you can bury it.
Because the past claws its way out. Looking back now, I realize I have been
peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty six years, (Hosseini 1).
Throughout the book, Amir s past haunts him in every action he takes and the
journey for his redemption. To Amir, the past defines who he currently is. All of
his feelings of guilt stimulate him to make up for his mistakes. For example, he
feels responsible for the events leading up to Hassan s murder by the Taliban
because he pushed Hassan and Ali out of Baba s house. So, years later when he
goes back to visit Rahim Khan, Amir is told to make amends by finding his nephew,
Sohrab. The past is mentioned in many parts of the book in his quest, Amir faces
many obstacles from his past.
In The Odyssey, the theme of loyalty relates to Odysseuss physical journey back to
Ithaca. Many characters in the epic are loyal and faithful, like Penelope,
Telemachus, Eumaeus, and even Odysseus himself. Penelope remains loyal to her
husband, by not choosing a suitor during the 20 years he s gone. And there she
[Penelope] sat down with the case on her knees and burst into sobs as she drew out
her husband s bow, (Homer 317). Just carrying out Odysseus s bow with such
sorrow shows how in love she was with Odysseus and how the thought of choosing a
new husband moved her to tears. As Penelope remained loyal to Odysseus and

First Degree Atrioventricular Block Essay
First Degree Atrioventricular Block
First degree atrioventricular block is a type of heart block. The heartbeat is a
coordinated contraction between the upper and lower chambers of the heart. This
coordinated contraction happens because of an electrical impulse that is sent from
the upper chambers of the heart to the lower chambers of the heart. The electrical
impulse causes the heart to beat and pump blood. Normally, this electrical impulse is
transmitted without delay. A first degree heart block is a slight delay of this electrical
impulse transmission from the upper chambers of the heart to the lower chambers of
the heart.

Anderton is now slightly safer. He is informed that he cannot remove the bandages

The Origins and Purpose of the Goblin Queen in George MacDonaldВґs the Princess
and the Goblin
Whatever the purpose of a story may be, whether the tale is a philosophical,
moralizing or merely entertaining one, an assortment of characters with sufficient
depth, notability and believability is vital to shoulder the burden of the author s
intent. George MacDonald, in one of his most famous novels, The Princess and the
Goblin, displays an acute awareness of this fact, presenting us with some of the most
colorful and unforgettable characters seen in children s literature. When considering
the exceptional imagination MacDonald infused into his story and characters, it is
little wonder that The Princess and the Goblin is considered to be ... Show more

Traditionally, goblins or hobgoblins are generally creatures associated with a single
household, who performs ... services for the family to whom he attaches himself
(Keightly, 239). This is usually after some inconvenient trials placed upon the
family by the goblin, such as sawdust in the house or dirt in the milk, all to test the
disposition of the family and their recognition of the goblin s partial claim to the
household (Keightly, 239). It is clear that this traditional goblin hardly fits the
description of MacDonald s more menacing, subterranean goblin, and it has been
suggested that the dwarf in folklore better describes this type of creature (Morris).
Dwarves are a subterranean race [that] has no proper communication with mankind,
who accomplish their business in the night, and not by the day (Keightly, 217). This
nearly echoes The Princess and the Goblin, where the goblins had all taken refuge in
the subterranean caverns, whence they never came out but at night, and them seldom
showed themselves in any numbers (MacDonald, 12). MacDonald s goblins also
show the natural mischievousness of dwarves who had a propensity to thieving ...
even women and children, which fueled the goblin s desire to kidnap Princess Irene.
It is from clear which traditions MacDonald has drawn in the creation of his species.
Ironically, however, the queen of the goblins is decidedly ungoblin like, even among
the race of humanoids in
People Work Together in Business in the Social Chain
Network
The social chain network where people work together to achieve certain goal is
business. It can be also defined as the exchange of money or any wealth through
buying and selling of goods or exchanging of any services. A business, also known
as an enterprise or a firm, is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services,
or both to consumers. (Sullivan and Sheffrin 2003, p.9). The mission statementcan be
defined as the general guideline for the behavior of the organization and also the
basis plan for the survival of the organization in a market. The mission mainly focuses
for the business purpose. A mission statement aims to provide employees and
stakeholders with clarity about the overriding purpose of the organization. A mission
statement should make the clear in long termpurpose . (Johnson, et al.2011 p.120)
Every business companies have its own mission statement. It plays an important role
in the business organization to run their business in this competitive environment.

British Immigration After 1945
Immigration became a significant part of society in the post war period, it redefined
the public s perception regarding culture and attitudes in society. Despite this, it is
worth noting that immigration was not a new phenomenon in 1945. Britain had
welcomed refugees in the past, notably the Irish who became one of the largest
groups throughout the 20th century. Many Europeans also sought refuge in Britain,
for example German refugees who fled to Britain in 1930 ; Peter Fryer notes on the
existing black community in Britain since the 16th century. However, the level of
immigration after 1945 was enough to redefine British culture and created an
exclusive national identity by where Britishness is now recognised through the colour
of your skin. Race as a concept has also transformed, with culture being a major
element in British society. Politics has also had a major influence, with the
introduction of immigration laws bringing equality among Britain s citizens, although
this could highlight the opinions of the public with the need for legislation to be
introduced. The economy thrived with immigration, noting on the Windrush which
allowed the empty gaps in employment to be filled. However, despite the progress
that has been made due to immigration, the reaction of the people wasn t always as
positive, subsequently leading to racial tensions and a lack of respect among the
people for immigration. These aspects are very significant when discussing the

Essay on Al Capone Biography
When I sell liquor, they call it bootlegging. When my patrons serve it on silver trays
on Lake Shore Drive, they call it hospitality. Al Capone [Woog, 25]
Al Capone was one of the most notorious gangsters during the 1920 s. He was a
self made business man. He had a ready smile and a quick handshake, which if you
did not play your cards right, could turn out to be fatal. It took 500 gangland murders
to make Capone the boss of Chicago. He was public enemy number one. Capone
single handedly gave Chicago the nickname The Lawless City.

Once Capone had everything he wanted in Chicago, he realized he was highly
disliked by the whole country because he began to hear comments on the street and
in the newspapers. Although he often did business with Capone, the mayor
William Big Bull Hale Thompson, wanted Capone out of Chicago because Capone
was bad for Thompson s political image. So the mayor hired a new police chief to run
Capone out of the city, and he personally saw Capone out of the city. Capone looked
all over for a new location and he decided to move to an estate in Palm Island, Florida
in 1928.
Once Capone was out of the city, attempts on Capone s life were becoming regular
but he had connections with newspapers and policemen so he quickly found out
about the plots. He, on the other hand, was very discrete and clever about his
murders. He would always have an alibi, because he himself would rarely do the

His most notorious murder was the St. Valentine s Day massacre. On February 14,
1928, four of Capone s men entered a garage of the Main Liquor warehouse for
bootlegger George Bugs Moran s North Side Gang. When the men entered the
garage two of Capone s men were dressed as police officers and therefore the North

According to Romans 13:1 2 Billy was definitely in the wrong of punching Calgart.
If Billy would have just kept his cool like a good boy he definitely would not have
been in as much trouble as he ended up getting into. The third reason Billy should
not have hit Claggart was that Billy ruined his future. Billy definitely messed up
when he let Claggart s words affect him, and if Billy had decided to be patient he
would never had hit Claggart. Claggart s accusations on Billy would never had
sentenced him to death, but the fact that Billy killed Claggart sealed his death
sentence. Some people say that Billy should have hit Claggart. They argue that
because Billy couldn t speak at moment and he had to take up for himself by some

Baz Luhrmann s use of cinematic language becomes more advanced through each

better produced films. His story telling techniques become more and more complex
to enable the audience to feel as if they are participating in the film. His first two
films (Strictly Ballroom and Romeo and Juliet) are definitely not naturalistic as
everything about the films is overdone. I feel however that The Great Gatsby is more
natural in terms of theatrical elements such as costumes, characters and providing a
film instead of a play. Overall Baz Luhrmann has evolved as a director from Strictly
Ballroom to Romeo + Juliet to The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be because it is not part of the red curtain trilogy. There is the over
exaggeration of parties, cars and alcohol but in this day and age, it is normal for us
to experience that. Gatsby may be unnatural in his love for Daisy and his made up
world but there are people like that in real life. The camera movements and shots are
smoother and blend into the film rather than stand out. For instance the there is a
low angle that zooms into Gatsby standing proud behind the window, not just a low
angle shot that suddenly cuts to another shot like in Strictly ballroom. The drama in
the movie was also dulled down, the gunshot to Gatsby s back wasn t overly
exaggerated and Gatsby s fight with Tom was so violent.
In conclusion, Baz Luhrmann advances most of his cinematic language through each
movie. He provides more complex story telling techniques to incorporate the
audience. His first two films are highly theatrical while he toned down his theatrics in
The Great Gatsby making it a more natural theme. Baz Luhrmann has evolved in his
directing from Strictly Ballroom to Romeo and Juliet to The Great Gatsby.

Cosimo De Medici s Influence On Florence
The Medici family earned their status by commerce rather than warfare, marriage or
inheritance, and they were the first princely dynasty to do so. Cosimo de Medici
never held office, but ran Florence through his wealth and strategic mind from 1434
1537. He played a large part in the patronage of the arts and the political development
of the city. His patronage allowed men to achieve such impressive architecture.
Brunelleschi, for example, who restored the church at San Lorenzo. Cosimo centered
the city around cultural and creative achievements. He allowed Florenceto enter the
age of the Renaissance by proving himself and his policies to the people, and making
the citizens of Florence proud.
Cosimo de Medici was born on September 27, 1389 in the city of Florence, Italy.
He was also known as Cosimo the Elder, Cosimo il Vecchio (Italian), and Pater
Patriae (Latin), meaning Father of his country (Encyclopedia Britannica Online).

Donatello unveiled his David. Both with the help of Cosimo s funding and
patronage of the arts and architecture. In 1437, Cosimo opened the first public
library in San Marco. The Battle of Anghiari ended with a Florentine victory over
Milan in 1440. Another great achievement that occurred during his era was the
publishing of the first book, the Bible, by Johannes Gutenberg (PBS). Cosimo also
founded the Platonic Academy of Florence. He was a great contributor to the arts and

Traba 24k Roosters Essay
Four men from Lawrence were arrested Sunday after a state trooper discovered
roosters that had just come from a cockfight in their car, said police
Sunday around 1:45 a.m., a state trooper pulled over a gray 2003 Honda Accord on
Route 84 for failure to move over for an ambulance. Inside were four men and police
said the trooper witnessed them shoving something under the seat. The trooper had
noticed a sticker on the back of the car that read TRABA 24K with a silhouette of a
rooster.
As the trooper stood by the accord s window, he was a bag under one of the seats
moving and he heard noises coming from it, said police. He then radioed for backup.
Police said the four people were taken out of the car; the trooper has hens at his own

The animals were poor condition, with the roosters missing all the feathers below the
neck and chest area. They also were covered with gouges on their bodies.
Police said that also inside the Accord was a bag containing several rolls of medical
tape, nail files, a block of wax, long sharp acrylic talon, pictures of a rooster and a
container of styptic powder which is used to stop bleeding.
Information indicates that the men had been participating in a New Jersey cockfight,
said police.
The four men have been identified as 26 year old Winton Hernandez, 54 year old
Cesareo Ruiz, 22 year old William Morales and 23 year old Erick Lora Lopez, all
from Lawrence. All four were charged with animal cruelty, animal fight and
conspiracy. In addition, the driver, Hernandez, was charged with obstructing an
emergency vehicle.
The birds were taken to Tufts Veterinary Hospital in Grafton where they are being
treated. All four men were transported to the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge
where they were booked and later released on $500 bail

Because this was his last Western, he committed or devoted the movie to his mentors

The Invention Of Automobiles In The 1800 s
The first working automobile invented by Nicolas Joseph Cugnot ran on steam
power. Not many people owned these steam powered automobiles. The first
gasoline powered automobile was invented in 1885 along with the electric car
around five years later. The automobile became a better form of transportation and
everyone began to buy them to go places faster, when they got cheaper more and
more people owned automobiles. A few years after the electric and gasoline
powered automobiles were invented it became a thing most people had. Most
automobiles were made in Europe until the United States figured out cheaper and
easier ways to make cars. The first automobiles were invented and made in the late

One way the automobile improved transportation is because they could go faster
and farther and were more reliable than previous forms of transportation. Before
the automobile people got around by things like boats horses and trains. The
automobile could go faster and farther than these and was much more reliable so
from point A to point B had much less problems. Another way the automobile
improved transportation is by making it easier. For people in rural areas it could
take a long time to walk to their neighbor s house or even ride a horse there. With
the automobile it was faster and they could have extra time to do other things. Also
if people had an automobile they did not have to worry about walking to a train
stop or missing a train when they could just drive where they wanted or needed to
go. People that had to work far away had it a lot easier when the automobile was
invented because they could just drive to work. After the automobile was invented
a lot of people began to buy it and sales increased rapidly because people realized
that it truly was an easier form of transportation. The automobile also improved
transportation because it could transport a lot of people faster. During the Korean
War, Japan produced automobiles that could carry large amounts of soldiers to
where they needed to go. Large families could also go places together with
automobiles that could carry a lot of
Essay about The Truth Exposed in A Clockwork Orange
The Truth Exposed in A Clockwork Orange
Alex, the fifteen year old narrator of Anthony Burgess s novel, A Clockwork
Orange, lives in a society where violence reigns. This novel has a very direct
nature, and is often blunt to the point of offense, but this makes it more
powerful and helps to further its point. This point is that everyone is out for
themselves, whether they be the police, government or citizens of this society.
In this book, the police can be just as violent as Alex and his droogs,
or gang. In fact, by the end of the novel, his droogs have themselves become
the police. The police have no qualms about beating people almost to the point
of death as they do with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alex, during his
first beating, confesses and hands his droogs to the police, but the police do
nothing to capture them. The reason the people are so afraid ...then a bolt
drawn, then the door open an inch or so... (19 20) is that they have to be,
since no one else seems to care about their well being.
The government is not much better. These corrupted individuals are only
out for themselves. They are in power, like it, and want to stay there as long
as possible. To achieve this end they will both tell the people what they want
and then do it for them. One example of this deals with crime. The citizens of
this society are fed up with it so the government gets rid of it using brutal
corrupt cops. The way that had been cleaned up, there being no longer any
dirty, ballooning slovos... (132) Since the People are not seeing the crimes
of the police, they believe that the government is protecting them and so are
appeased. Another example of this deal more directly with Alex. The citizens
want everyone to be good and peaceful. The government to show this take away a
person s free will to be bad. Thus the citizenry believe the criminals have
been reformed when in truth they have only been forced to do good, as they did
with Alex. Then when the people realize they prefer free will, the government
gives this back to Alex. The government is at the top and they

tend to take on other people s emotions and problems. I try to fixthese people and

layers of emotional turmoil, lies a happy, fun, and energetic being yearning to
emerge from the darkest depths of deception. The inner workings of a deep seeded
individual such as me can be perceived in several different ways. One may be
disturbed, strange, odd, or often mistaken, but by all means, I am neither of these
common misconceptions. My brain is quite complex when it comes to

Eukaryotic Cells And Its Functions
Eukaryotic cells are complex and include all animal and plant cells. Prokaryotic cells
are smaller and simpler, e.g. Bacteria (AQA 2008)
Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles, whereas prokaryotic cells do
not contain these.
Although both of these cells contain DNA, only eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus.
The nucleus is the largest organelle, surrounded by a double membrane (nuclear
envelope) containing lots of pores. The nuclear membrane protects contents of the
nucleus and controls the transport of substances in and out. The nucleus contains
linear DNA in chromatin which protects the DNA from damage. Chromatin is
formed of DNA which controls the activities of the cell. The nucleus often contains a
structure called the nucleolus. This structure produces ribosomes which enter the
cytoplasm in the cell through the nuclear pores, as well as transcribing DNA into
RNA.
Prokaryotic cells do not contain nuclei. Instead of having a nucleus to carry the
DNA, these cells contain plasmids with circular DNA, as well as having most of the
DNA float freely inside the cytoplasm. The plasmids carry the information necessary
to keep the cell alive. For example including genes that make the bacteria cell resistant
to antibiotics.
Both cells transcribe DNA into RNA in order to translate RNA and produce proteins
on ribosomes.
Endoplasmic Reticulum is present in eukaryotic cells. There are two types of ER:
Smooth and rough. This organelle is formed of a network of

How Does Shakespeare Present Caliban In A Tempest
Whilst AimГ© CГ©saire wrote A Tempest as a spin off of Shakespeare s The
Tempest the differences between the two plays can not be denied. In this essay an
exploration of the differences of the two plays will be done by focusing mainly on
the idea of the way in which Prospero treats Caliban and Ariel, Calibans first
encounters with Stephano and Trinculo, and finally the way in which both plays have
different endings. In both A Tempest and The Tempest
Prosperoarrives on an island
with his daughter, Miranda. The island has been previously inhabited by Caliban and
Ariel, who are thus the natives of the island (a point which CГ©saire focuses on
much more than Shakespeare does) but it does not take Prospero long to gain power
and ultimate superiority... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Trinculo first stumbles upon Caliban in The Tempest he cannot decide
whether Caliban is a man or a fish (Act 2, Scene 2, line 24). This is in contrast to A
Tempest where Trinculo calls Caliban an Indian . In both plays however Trinculo
believes he can make a lot of money out of exploiting Caliban by taking him back to
the freak shows in England. Stephano and the influences he has within the two
plays also bare slight contrasts. In The Tempest Stephano mocks Caliban s
drunkenness, which he is to blame for, calling him the most ridiculous monster
(Act 2, Scene 2, line 157), however both he and Trinculo take full advantage of
Caliban s intoxication of the celestial liquor (Act 2, Scene 2, line 109), allowing
once again for Caliban to become enslaved and Caliban shows them the island and
begins to believe that Stephano is a brave god (Act 2, Scene 2, line 109). Caliban
is colonised twice by means of similar practices with Prospero giving him water
with berries in t (Act 2, Scene 2, line 337) and then later on Trinculo and Stephano
feeding him alcohol. Caliban does however, in The Tempest, still manage to
convince Stephano to kill Prospero where as in A Tempest there is not as much
focus on the fact that even in his drunken state, Caliban is still able to enforce a little
of the power he previously
Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Articles Of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation was first written in 1777. It was passed by the
Confederation of Congress. Congress decided that they needed a firm government to
organize the states as a whole. At least that was their primary goal. Since each state
had separates rules. The Articles of Confederation was later ratified by each state in
1781. It was America s first federal constitution (Keene 138). The confederation had a
few strengths but many weaknesses. The nation faced many economic and political
issues that lead people to controversy. The Articles of Confederationdeveloped
dominance in separate states. Every state was evenly represented, and was granted
one vote. Out of those 13 states only 9 states had to come to a unanimous agreement,
in order for new amendments to be imposed. Some of the strengths were, the power
to make war peace, handle foreign relations, Indian affairs, and adjudicate disputes
between the states (Creating the U.S. ppt I). An additional strength was The Articles
had the control to print and mint money. However, I do not believe this was for their
best interest. Continental Paper Currency, was valueless in other states; therefore,
each state had to use their own money. I believe the Confederation Government was
doomed to fail. For instance, their weak Constitution, had several money problems.
One weakness was the Government did not have the power to tax. The Government
lacked in funds. This left the Articles no choice but to rely on

This person is someone I admire and hope to be like her someday. My Abuela, Nory

Britain s Electoral System
The change of electoral system of Britain from first past the post to form of
proportional representation caused discussions and argues in the whole country.
Does new system inspirit and change course to better or lead to weak and
indecisive government? Whereas first past the post developed stable majorities in
parliament, there are always was a lack of suffer from grave shortcomings, for
example majority of population remains unrepresented in government bodies, and a
party, which wins less voices in selection than their contestants, can be represented by
more seats. Nation is looking forward to see the fairness and progress of
parliamentary works of country, which can be motivated by advantageousness of
proportional representation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is why the proportional representation is more fair system than first past the post.
Nevertheless proportional representation has it disadvantages. First of all, there are
complexity in formation of government because of multi party coalitions includes
parties with different majorities, goals and assignments. Owing to that, it is quite
hard to produce common, clear and strong program. A regime, which is based on this
background, differs with instability. Secondly this system brings to the situation when
legation in government bodies gets political power. Also, in proportional
representation, because of election process carry out with political parties, not with
specific candidates, direct connection between constituents and their representatives
is weak. Finally, whereas the election of this system is for political parties, delegates
depend on their partial guidance. It can badly result in debates and important
documents adoption. It seems clear that both first past the post and proportional
representation electoral systems have their own advantages and disadvantages.
However, no doubts, despite all this disadvantages, comparing two systems gives that
in multi party conditions proportional presentation more democratic than first past
the post.
Eventually, the analysis of advantages and disadvantages of proportional
representation shows that even with this numerous defects of system, PR can inspirit
government with only
The Challenges Of Buying Healthy Food
After we spitted our tasks separated into 2 groups we quickly get an Uber in order
to get to our destination without wasting any time. During the interview process,
the most surprising thing (moments) about it was the amount of people
participating. After me and my teammates spent about 5 minutes standing in front
of Safeway we approach one of the costumer walking out from Safeway s exist, she
was carrying 2 groceries bags, so almost immediately we walked up to her in order
to ask her a simple questions that we had prepared. The funniest yet saddest

heavy. The lady slowly walked away from us, after we got rejected we immediately
changed us way to approach people. Instead of asking the people walking in and out
with 2 3 long questions, we switch to short and simple questions; for example what
are the challenges from buying healthy food? or What is stopping you from buying or

realized that the shorter the simpler the questions, the more effective the interview.
When we start interviewing people with long questions, lots of people tented to

Student Justifications for Abusing Adderall
What Are U of M Students Perceptions of Adderall?
INTRODUCTION
With the increased pressure to succeed and the chaotic collegiate lifestyle taking a toll
on students, Adderall has evolved into the go to drug. The Class II prescription
amphetamine is intended to solely treat individuals with attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. The stimulant works to enhance
concentration by stimulating the production of dopamine and norepinephrine in the
brain (Stolz 585). Recently, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of Adderall
on college campuses to enhance academic performance and cram for exams through
the over stimulation of the brain, therefore creating super enhanced focus (Stolz
585), deeming it the smart drug. Due to the fact that several students are not truly
diagnosed with ADHD, a majority of this use on campuses is illegal; this has
become a growing problem affecting the health of students and entailing issues of
competiveness and fairness (Jacobs 1). In recent years, the abuse of Adderall has
circulated hundreds of college campuses and even secondary schools.
Unfortunately, students are being deceived by the stimulant drug s valuable qualities,
masking the serious, detrimental effects that the drug induces. Even worse,
contributing to Adderall s extensive abuse across campuses, instead of condemnation
it is implicitly being praised and validated by parents and students who view these
drugs as a means of academic

existing buildings would encourage families with young children to visit the property
and learn about the history of cider making.

The orchard will likely not receive any profits within the first five or so years.
Probability The probability of not acquiring much income within the first few years is
almost certain.
Expected Outcome While the apple trees are growing and maturing, there will not
be any major profit or revenue incurred by the apple orchard. It can be expected that
after the trees mature enough to produce a sufficient amount of apples, the orchard
will begin to become a steady revenue stream for Zenda.
Triggers Further lack of income could be triggered by delays in planting, errors in
maintenance of the trees, failure to grow certain trees (ex. Kingston Black variety).
Anything that delays the orchard from becoming fully operational in the shortest time
possible can reduce income.
6. Cost Analysis
This budget involves several factors. First of all, the estimated costs of establishing
the U Pick apple orchard and the cider orchard. To find the total cost, fixed costs
and variable costs from year to year for establishing and maintaining each of these
orchards must be recorded. The second factor is how much funding and aid Zenda
will likely receive for this project, from various grants, donors, and potential partners.
Once each of these factors are determined, a budget can then be established outlining
how much money will be allotted to each portion of the
Gender Inequality In The Media
Anderson Cooper. Don Lemon. Jake Tapper. Matt Lauer. These faces flash across
our television screens, constantly crop up in our daily conversations, and dominate
the news and media. But wait, there s something missing from the list of names
above a group constituting nearly 51% of our population women( Women s Health
USA 2012. ). Scarce are mentions of successful female journalists. Scarce are
women confidently voicing their political opinions on reputable news channels.
Scarce are truly powerful female journalists. In reality, this problem goes unnoticed
by most in fact, despite being a news and politics aficionado, it didn t hit me until
recently that women were so blatantly marginalized in this industry. It is perfectly
valid to question the relevancy of such an obscure issue, but obscurity does not
equate to unimportance. Portraying women unequally in the media defies not only
our principles, but also the nation s principles. How can we claim that we are a
nation of equal opportunity if we don t practice what we preach? We must encourage
women to increase their political awareness and take on leadership roles in the media,
especially in covering the most vital topics, because the underrepresentation of
women in media encourages disparity between the sexes.
The problem of gender inequality in media has two main aspects the shunning of
women into petty, less important aspects of news and a clear lack of women in
leadership in media. According to a report on the

This assures a high growth in this industry in future. Most of the service providers
have covered majority of the urban population of India. But many far fledged villages
of India still need to be connected through mobile phones. The untapped rural
population of India is a huge proportion of the 72.2% total rural population of India.
Also, the demand for telecom service in rural people is increasing day by day. This
further ensures growth in the industry. Indian telecom continues to register a
significant growth each year. This has been due to the impact of economic reforms
and pro active policies of the government. This has a clear indication that india has
huge demand of tele services.
Supply The telecommunications industry is a vast one with a large number of
private players who are constantly bringing down the cost to consumers thereby
making services more affordable and helping improve life in general and business
in particular. On the Indian business scene are successful government owned
institutions like MTNL and BSNL on the one hand, and even more successful and
aggressive players like the Tata s and Reliance on the other. Competition has just
begun and is heating up every day with either lowering of tariffs or introduction of
newer and improved services to keep a larger share of the market. If airtel will be
able to provide better services for low cost then it will be able to
Review Of The Lady With The Toy Dog
The thought that a fictitious movie like Twilight is actually affecting women
seems almost bizarre. You may wonder how it s even possible that we can be so
easily influenced by what some consider an aimless series of vampire books .
However, it s a proven fact that our brains react to fiction tales and they can indeed
impact us in ways we could only imagine. A study was done in 2009 at the University
of Toronto in Canada testing the hypothesis that art can cause significant changes in
the experience of one s own personality traits under laboratory conditions. According
to the research journal, On Being Moved by Art: How Reading Fiction Transforms
the Self, created by several authors: After completing a set of questionnaires,
including the Big Five Inventory (BFI) and an emotion checklist, the experimental
group read the short story The Lady With the Toy Dog by Chekhov, while the control
group read a comparison text that had the same content as the story, but was
documentary in form. The comparison text was controlled for length, readability,
complexity, and interest level. Participants then completed again the BFI and emotion
checklist, randomly placed within a larger set of questionnaires. The results show the
experimental group experienced significantly greater change in self reported
experience of personality traits than the control group, and that emotion change
mediated the effect of art on traits. The findings of this research, along with plenty of

Computer Based Information System:
Computer Based Information System (CBIS) is an information system in which the
computer plays a major role. Such a system consists of the following elements: *
Hardware: The term hardware refers to machinery. This category includes the
computer itself, which is often referred to as the central processing unit (CPU), and
all of its support equipments. Among the support equipments are input and output
devices, storage devices and communications devices. * Software: The term software

Decision support systems assist managers who must make decisions that are not
highly structured, often called unstructured or semi structured decisions. A decision
is considered unstructured if there are no clear procedures for making the decision
and if not all the factors to be considered in the decision can be readily identified in
advance. Judgement of the manager plays a vital role in decision making where the
problem is not structured. The decision support system supports, but does not replace,
judgement of manager.
4. Office Automation Systems
Office automation systems are among the newest and most rapidly expanding
computer based information systems. They are being developed with the hopes and
expectations that they will increase the efficiency and productivity of office workers
typists, secretaries, administrative assistants, staff professionals, managers and the
like. Many organisations have taken the First step toward automating their offices.
Often this step involves the use of word processing equipment to facilitate the typing,
storing, revising and printing of textual materials. Another development is a computer
based communications system such as electronic mail which allows people to
communicate in an electronic mode through computer terminals. An office
automation system can be described as a multi function, integrated computer based
system that allows many office activities to be performed in an electronic mode.

Athletic Trainer Interview Paper
I interviewed Charlie Hart who is an Athletic Trainer at Marvin Ridge High School.
This is his third year as an Athletic Trainer at the school, and he also teaches classes
during the day there as well. During the interview, I gained lots of helpful insight
about the Athletic Training Profession. I first met Charlie Hart because I had a
semester internship with him during my senior year of high school. I really enjoyed
the internship, and learned a lot about the Athletic Training profession. I had never
considered Athletic Training, but after the internship I realized I really liked it and
would be interesting in pursuing Athletic Training as a career. The first question I
asked was: what is a typical day like? He said that he typically arrives... Show more

When a player is laying on the field he is often the first one that gets to the athlete
and he has to quickly asses the situation and decide what type of treatment the
athlete needs and how the athlete is going to get off the field. I also asked how
often he works in groups versus how often he works alone. He said that since he is
the only Athletic Trainer at the school, most of the before practice treatment is him
working on his own. He has to communicate with the Athletic Director and coaches
about an athlete s progress however, so getting a player to return to a sport
completely relies on him, the coach, and the Athletic Director working as a team.
Also, when a player is injured on the field, the coach and Athletic Director are there to
assist in the on field evaluation and help in the treatment protocol. The next question I
asked was: how is performance measured? He said that his performance depends on
how an athlete recovers. The faster an athlete is able to recover from an injury, the
better the Athletic Trainer did at providing helpful information/treatment for the
athlete. Next, I asked what characteristics a successful Athletic Trainer
The Power Of The Populist Party
The Populist Party formed when the Kansas Farmers Alliance joined with Knights
of Labor to form a People s Party. Populists wanted the people to have more power
to end poverty and injustices. In 1892, the Populist Program was initiated where
populists desired public ownership of the railroad and telegraph systems, protection
of land and natural resources, federal income tax on highest incomes, and a looser
monetary policy to favor borrowers. Populists also wanted to stop the governments
laissez faire attitude. In addition, they aimed for a secret ballot and direct election.
Supporters of the Populist Party were made up of farmers, labor groups,
prohibitionist and women s suffrage advocates.
Progressivism came after the Populist movement.
Modernism In Music
Throughout the early twentieth century, music began to take on a new role as society
started to progress and change. In society, music is an important part of culture and
the forming of culture, where people can assert and preserve their histories and
experiences when facing a change in social conditions. Modernism is defying
convention to an extreme degree, disregarding boundaries completely in rhythm and
tonality, opening up doors that would eventually redefine the notion of what
constitutes music. America and Europe, pre and post WWI, both experienced drastic
social changes and technological advances which all contributed to the progression of
modernism in music. From segregation and the Great Immigration in America to the
deconstruction of traditional culture in Europe, and even the shared rise popularity in
folk musicin both countries, modernism announces itself as a prevalent and powerful
voice in music which is seen through composers such as Schoenberg, Stravinsky,
Copland, and Bartok. In Europe, modernism in music is vastly seen in Schoenberg,
Stravinsky, and Bartok. At the end of the 19th century, traditional compositional rules
and techniques were proving to be more of a strain in conveying extreme shades of
emotion and meaning. While some composers decided to continue along the path of
more traditional and accepted compositions, others decided that they needed to
branch off in different directions. In London, 1902, Debussy introduced the concept of

Police Corruption In Copland
Copland
Introduction
Copland is a crime movie about the corruption of police in New York city. It all
started with one incident with a officer who shot two African American teens
because he felt threatened. This resulted in other officers bad decisions and
ultimately ended some people s lives. The way they resolved these problems was by
one sheriffs good intentions and investigation skills. It brought to justice the wrong
doings of these police. When he did want to do something about it he decided to go
to Internal Affairs investigator, but was pushed away because he didn t say anything
when he was first asked about it.

sheriff seems to be the only ethical officer in the area. The rest of them are corrupt

Rylands V Fletcher
Question 6, April 2006: Solution to fe1 question
Bell Computers could attach liability to either Chemical Supply or Industrial Estates
under the tort of Rylands v Fletcher.
Chemical Supply s Liability
Rylands v Fletcher established that a person who for his own purposes brings on his
lands and collects and keeps there anything likely to do mischief if it escapes, must
keep it in at his peril, and if he does not do so , is prima facie answerable for all the
damage which is the natural consequence of its escape. The rule therefore imposes
strict liability on the defendant for all damage which occurs as a natural consequence
of the escape, and there is no requirement for intent or neglect. The rule only applies
to defendants who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Industrial Estate s Liability
The rule in Rylands applies to owners of premises as well as occupiers, but Bell
would have difficulty overcoming the proofs outlined in respect of Industrial, namely
accumulation for Industrial s benefit etc. and the absence of any control by Industrial
over the harmful substances.
Liability would be more successfully attached to Industrial in negligence for its
failure to keep the road in a good state of repair. Firstly, Bell will need to establish
that it owed a duty of care to it. As Lord Atkin stated in O Donoghue v Stevenson
you must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omission which you can reasonably
foresee would be liable to injure your neighbour. While neighbour in this sense
does not strictly mean persons who occupy the property beside you, it was
established in Glencar Explorations v Mayo Co.Co. that if a plaintiff and defendant
s relationship is sufficiently proximate, and the harm caused was foreseeable, then
in the absence of policy limitations, a duty of care would arise. Bell should be able
to establish a duty of care in that by failing to maintain the road in a good condition,
it was reasonably foreseeable that such failure could cause injury to Bell s property,
as Industrial knew that tanks full of harmful substances travelled on the road on a
daily basis, and that if such chemicals were to escape due to an accident caused by
the defective road, they would
Analysis Of Thomas Gainsborough s Portrait Of Grace...
Thomas Gainsborough presents a fabulous portrait of Grace Dalrymple Elliott.
This is a full length painting believed to be commissioned by her lover, Earl of
Cholomondeley in 1777 (Major, 2016). This portrait goes beyond a simple painting
of a mistress. Rather, Gainsborough s portrait of Grace is a study of striking and
noble beauty versus a celebration of female sexuality as a commodity. Gainsborough
accomplished this art piece by using several uncommon practices in his portrait
making techniques. The first is using a six foot handle brush working directly on the
canvas to give himself a better viewpoint of his work. Second, Gainsborough often
painted by candlelight, attempting to simulate the soft lighting in which the painting
would be viewed (Information for Parents, n.d.). Gainsborough was very
successful in creating an atmospheric mood and unity between the backgrounds
and figures in his paintings. He displayed great skill in the use of color repetitions
and contrasts, fluid brushstrokes, and highlighting. Grace, in her full length
portrait, appears both self confident and majestic as she leans forward on her left
foot. She is wearing a simple, snug ribbon choker around her throat that graciously
drapes down the front of her chest where she clasps the train of her gown in a gesture
of vulnerability. Her other jewelry is a pair of small stud gold earrings and a layered
bracelet of strung pearls on both wrists adds a unique touch to not over power or
Aristotle s Philosophy On The Morality Of War Essay
Throughout history, mankind have fought one another at great cost and for almost
as long as people have been waging war, people have been asking questions
surrounding the morality of war. In ancient Greece Aristotle raised a number of
ideals that he believed should be adhered to, he believed that war needed to be
regulated by a universal community under natural law. He also criticised the desire
to conquer as a valid means of going to war. His views where based on the stoic
tenants of virtue and reason. Aristotle s teaching began to gain traction again in
Europe during the 13th century, some of his teachings conflicted with the ideas of the
Catholic Church which at the time was a major political power. Thomas Aquinasin the
Summa Theologica began to combine the Church s ideals with that of Aristotle s
to present a picture of how war should be. In order for a war to be just, states need
to have the right motivations to go to war and they need to conduct themselves in
a moral way while at war. This idea of Just War has evolved over the years through
theorists such as Vitoria and has been criticised by others such as Erasmus. Now in
the 21st century we have a slightly different much more secularised view of Just war.
Political theorist Brian Orend, suggests that for a war to be truly just it must also
have an ethical end, states must have a valid exit strategy that doesn t leave the
country in chaotic ruins after the war. This essay will refer to numerous contemporary
Race Theory Of Race And Racism
Theories of race and racism have been used by sociologists to not only describe
modern societies but also address issues of social injustice and achieve an end to
racial oppression. Critical race theory is one of the most widely used for this
purpose and provides the structure employed by Dwanna Robertson in her analysis of
racism against Native Americans and the consequences they have experienced as a
result. She uses the term legitimized racism to discuss the racialization of American
Indians. By classifying Indians as evil and less than human, whites felt justified in
using cruelty against them in order to appropriate their land and resources during the
settlement of the Americas. As a result of this, the part Native Americans play is both
pivotal and foundational in the economic and internal socio racial reality of the
United States. Their social and economic inequality is often blamed on a culture of
alcoholism, individual laziness, and rural living while the fact that they are subject to
racial oppression is ignored.
Using an Indigenous epistemology and a qualitative approach, the author studied
what she termed the act of legitimized racism. She analyzed its influence and, through
interviews, collected narratives of those who had confronted legitimized racism.
These interviews were with forty five Indigenous people over the age of eighteen
from twenty nine distinct tribes between June 2009 and May 2013. As the
participants needed to identify ethnically as

The Performance Of The Houston Astros Essay
The Houston Astros have been making deals to improve their team, and avoid

Process Analysis Essay

  • 1. Process Analysis Essay Crafting a Process Analysis Essay can be a formidable task, demanding a unique blend of analytical skills, clarity of thought, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in the meticulous understanding of the chosen process but also in the ability to convey it to the reader in a coherent and engaging manner. Firstly, the writer must select a process that is both interesting and suitable for analysis. Whether it's a complex scientific procedure or a routine daily activity, the challenge lies in breaking it down into comprehensible steps. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify the essential components of the process, without overwhelming the reader with unnecessary information. Once the process is chosen and understood, the next hurdle is organizing the essay logically. A seamless flow of ideas is crucial, guiding the reader through each step with clarity. Ensuring that the instructions are easy to follow while maintaining a sophisticated writing style adds an additional layer of complexity. Achieving this balance requires a mastery of language and a deep understanding of the target audience. Moreover, the challenge is not just in the technical aspects but also in maintaining the reader's interest. The essay must go beyond a mere list of steps and engage the audience with insightful explanations, real-life examples, or creative approaches. This demands creativity and a knack for turning mundane processes into captivating narratives. Editing is another aspect that adds to the difficulty. Ensuring the essay is free from grammatical errors, maintains a consistent tone, and adheres to the conventions of academic writing can be time-consuming and demanding. In conclusion, the process of creating a Process Analysis Essay involves navigating through various challenges – from selecting the right process to breaking it down into understandable steps, organizing the information logically, maintaining reader engagement, and ensuring impeccable writing quality. It's a task that demands a combination of analytical, organizational, and creative skills. • 2. Summary Of Civil Peace Civil Peace is a story of faith. It is a story to which I know that the events and experiences that the main character, Jonathan, experiences can directly relate to my own life, as well as my opinions on my view of the world. Nothing puzzles God (Achebe) is what Jonathan says continually throughout the story. This shows his opinions on what has happened in his life so far, and how he feels he should react to what happens. For his great amount of faith is shown throughout the story, and I feel as though I am much like that of Jonathan. This text of Civil Peace has an abundant amount of meaning to me personally. Throughout the book with Jonathan experiencing so many wrong things in his life, he does not stay angry or upset over what had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found that once I started reading this work of literature, I did not put it down until it was read completely from beginning to end. Achebe does an excellent job at portraying a story that displays this strong display of faith through a man and his family. I found that I could relate to this story wholeheartedly, and because of this I was interested in the piece for every bit of it. The overall attitude of Jonathan gave me a sense of understanding, and I could see where the way that I felt regarding faith and what happens in my life was identical to that of
  • 3. Essay on Sweat Zora Neale Hurston Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston is filled with many religious symbolism. Good versus evil plays a large role in the development of Delia and Skype Jones, as characters. The story is about Delia, an African American woman who is a washwoman for whites. Delia consistently looks to her religion for guidance and support as she endures the many hardships that she faces because, which are caused by her abusive husband and unfaithful husband, Sykes. Delia and Sykes Jones is a couple that have opposite moral values, but yet they are tied together through marital vows, that no longer have much importance or value. Delia Jones is portrayed as the Protagonist and a very modest woman of weakness who later gains the strength to stand u to her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since Sykes is the one creating these scare tactics to Delia, he can also be seen as a symbol of evil, which he becomes the evil antagonist of the story. These two instances could also be seen in the religious aspect with Adam and Eve. Another symbol that was present in the story was the dark grey sky. The dark grey sky symbolically means evil, remorse, and sadness. The dark grey sky came about when the snake Sykes used to scare Delia with, bites and kills him. While Sykes was dying, he was now feeling remorse for all his evil doings that he has done to Delia, so we think because he was calling out for her after the snake had bitten him. As the sky clears the story brings about another last symbol. Eventually, at the end of the story is when the reader can really see the Good vs. Evil. Sykes soon begins to reap is sowing (par26), when he comes home and is killed by the snake, the one thing that he had used to scare Delia with so bad that she would leave, or die even. As Sykes is dying the sky begins to clear and the sun begins to rise. The clear, light sky and the sun represents freedom, purity, and peace, and the clear sky can also represent the Delia s character as well as the white clothes that were mentioned in the beginning of the story. In all the symbols that were present in the story, the most important symbol was Delia s sweat. Delia s work worn knees crawled

  • 5. Western World Religion Although there were many different aspects that played into the shaping of Western society, religion was the most influential. That s not to say that religion was able to do that alone, but it seems that no matter what was happening during the course of the last several hundred years, religion played a part. Without the efforts of Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and many others who were willing to stick their necks out for religious freedom. Bucking the system and questioning the status quo was exactly the theme of every major development in the Western world. The following words from Martin Luther help to bring together an idea that sparked progression and reform that began in the early 1500s and is still in motion today: I have often said that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... God s right, or the divine right of kings, led to many civilizations under the direction of rule by those who were only in that position because of religious standing. Thanks to the actions of political reformers, many nations began adopting policies that were more representative of their inhabitants. They weren t perfect to begin with, and many countries were ruled by emperors who claimed to be progressive but were clinging on to ideas that would further their own agendas. They were called enlightened despots. Catherine the Great was one of those rulers. She had many great ideas and was seen by most of her people as a friend of Enlightenment. However, she had a greater desire to be views as an enlightened leader, rather than actually being one. When Catherine suspended meetings of a Legislative Committee aimed at giving a voice to all due to her lack of order, it led many to believe that there were aspects of her persona that were simply for show (Boeve, Schrijvers, Stoker, Vroom, 2006). However, even a glimmer of progression showed that the once unheard of actions of religious reformists was beginning to have an impact on all facets of
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On The Moment Of The Body I am currently recovering from an operation on my knee that occurred right before school started. It was specifically a knee arthroscopy and loose body removal. It started 2 years ago when I was playing soccer. It was the second day of tryouts and I was doing well. At one point our goalie had the ball and was looking at me. I back pedaled then quickly tried to turn my body left and run forward while my momentum was bringing me back. This was not a good combination of motions as I twisted and fell. I ended up dislocating my left kneecap and tearing my medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) which holds your knee cap from moving outwards. It was not only the twisting motion that caused this, I also have a shallow groove where the small bonerests. This causes it to move side to side more rather than staying in the straight path so a part of it was genetic (Minimally). I got an MRI of my knee to confirm the doctor s thoughts and to make sure nothing else was damaged. A very tiny piece of cartilage broke off and was floating Luckily there was no other problems with anything else inside me. The MPFL is one of the few ligaments that can repair itself after being torn unlike an ACL which requires surgery and up to a year of recovery. I was given a knee immobilizer to wear and keep on for three months. This caused disuse atrophy where the muscles get weak and shrink due to a lack of use. I then went to physical therapy to rebuild and strengthen my knee. My MPFL was repaired but not as strong as before so if I increase the size of the muscle around, it can help hold the knee in place. After two months of PT I was given a brace to wear when playing sports to help prevent this from happening again. 728 days, almost two years, passed since I got hurt the first time. I was working at a summer camp. It was later on in the day so there were not that many kids there, most of them had been picked up. The kids wanted me to go outside so I could watch them on the playground. I was walking up on the flat road when my knee buckled. I did not expect to hurt it again just by walking but I did. My doctor, Dr. Abrutyn, first checked an x ray to then ordered an MRI which determined that I had dislocated my kneecap again and bruised
  • 7. Effects of the Cold War in Nicaragua Essays The Cold War was a period in history right after WWII ended and it ended in 1991, when the USSR broke apart. The conflict was between two types of governments: the communists and the capitalism (democrats). The USSR represented the communist side, while the U.S. represented the democrats. Both countries had nuclear weapons and did not want to fight each other directly because they didn t want a Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD), so they fought through other countries, by Proxy Wars. The global tensions in Cold Waraffected a few countries in a couple of regions, for example Central America. The involvement of the United States aided Nicaragua economically, militarily, and politically. When Central America got rid of Spanish Colonial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... BBC, 06 May 2004. Web. 13 May 2014). Since the National Guard didn t have that many people, they started recruiting farmers who were kicked out because of the new farming system that the Sandinistas started using. The second group was lead by a dissatisfied Sandinistas leader, Eden Pastora. He set up two groups in Honduras called the contras , or counter revolutionary forces. Reagan wanted to support contras economically and he stated that quite openly; however, a lot of U.S. citizens did not like that. During that time, in 1985, a war between Iran and Iraq took place. Even though the U.S. publicly supported Iraq, the government also secretly assisted Iran. Among those years Iran asked the United States for help with weaponry. It is illegal to sell weapons to the hostages but Regan still thought it would help him and the U.S. One of the reasons why he did it was because he wanted to take control in the problematic Middle East and selling weapons to Iran would improve the relations with Iran and Lebanon. At the same time Reagan wanted to free the seven hostages that were held by Iranian terrorist and even though he strongly supported the rule of not negotiating with terrorists, he broke the rule by supplying Iran with weapons. After receiving money from Iran, Regan sponsored contras using that money. The United States had also supplied the contras with weapons and equipment. After the clandestine deal between the two countries was published in the
  • 8. Dystopian Society Many novels, as well as video games, deal with texts of the dystopic genre. Dystopia has become an instrumental form of literature in all countries; however, some texts are better at relaying their message than others. For example, in the video game, The Last of Us, the two protagonists, one adult male and one young girl, fight through hordes of the infected . They do so in order to save mankind from utter extinction. Despite being a video game, this text captures the quintessential elements needed in order to become a relatable piece of work and does so by making both Joel and Ellie (the protagonists) truthful characters. In addition to The Last of Us, the novel The Running Man, by Steven King, also deals with the topic of dystopia. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He soon approaches what looks like an injured man; however, the man was not injured and attempts to kill Joel and Ellie to steal his truck. This is a prime example of the modified human nature present in dystopian societies. In an attempt to preserve what human kindness Joel has left , he ends up in a situation much like that of Richards in The Running Man, creating a similarity in the two story arcs. The use of clichГ© as a rhetoric device is present in both Richards, and Joel and Eli s lives, and serves as one of the reasons why both story arcs hold the attention of the player/reader. However, The Last of Us serves as a much more relatable situation for the player than that of the reader of Stephen King s famous novel, due to the realism and player emersion that the game provides. The Last of Us puts the dystopian society into the hands of anyone that can hold a controller, yet still provides a meaningful plot with character development to bout. The length of the game in itself is an effective way to persuade the player of its meaning, and the dangers of a potential future. For the average player, it can take anywhere from 15 to 30 hours of playing time to complete the storyline for The Last of Us, constantly driving home the nature of the dystopian society. The fact that The Last of Us is a video game too makes it much more accessible and appealing to the younger generations. While Stephen King is a legendary author in his own right, it can be intimidating for someone to read one of his novels. Along with this comes the general growth of technology, and the fact that paperbacks are soon becoming irrelevant. The dramatic increase in technology makes a video game much more likely to get selected over a novel for leisure, regardless of the topic that each chooses to address. This is what makes The Last of Us a more realistic option for the spreading awareness of

  • 10. The Physical Journey In The Odyssey And The Kite Runner The physical journey of a character plays a central role in the book and influences many parts of it. Both The Odyssey and The Kite Runner, have main characters that go through a physical journey for different reasons that impacts their lives in many ways. By introspecting the books themes, archetypes, and symbols, it is more comprehensible. In The Odysseyand The Kite Runner both, the physical journey augments to the meaning of the books in total. An important theme that relates to the physical journey in The Kite Runner is the past. The influence of the past affects Amir in his life as we see from the very first sentence of the book until the end. I became what I am today at the age of twelve, on a frigid overcast day in the winter of the 1975... That was a long time ago, but it s wrong what they say about the past, I ve learned, about how you can bury it. Because the past claws its way out. Looking back now, I realize I have been peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty six years, (Hosseini 1). Throughout the book, Amir s past haunts him in every action he takes and the journey for his redemption. To Amir, the past defines who he currently is. All of his feelings of guilt stimulate him to make up for his mistakes. For example, he feels responsible for the events leading up to Hassan s murder by the Taliban because he pushed Hassan and Ali out of Baba s house. So, years later when he goes back to visit Rahim Khan, Amir is told to make amends by finding his nephew, Sohrab. The past is mentioned in many parts of the book in his quest, Amir faces many obstacles from his past. In The Odyssey, the theme of loyalty relates to Odysseuss physical journey back to Ithaca. Many characters in the epic are loyal and faithful, like Penelope, Telemachus, Eumaeus, and even Odysseus himself. Penelope remains loyal to her husband, by not choosing a suitor during the 20 years he s gone. And there she [Penelope] sat down with the case on her knees and burst into sobs as she drew out her husband s bow, (Homer 317). Just carrying out Odysseus s bow with such sorrow shows how in love she was with Odysseus and how the thought of choosing a new husband moved her to tears. As Penelope remained loyal to Odysseus and

  • 12. First Degree Atrioventricular Block Essay First Degree Atrioventricular Block First degree atrioventricular block is a type of heart block. The heartbeat is a coordinated contraction between the upper and lower chambers of the heart. This coordinated contraction happens because of an electrical impulse that is sent from the upper chambers of the heart to the lower chambers of the heart. The electrical impulse causes the heart to beat and pump blood. Normally, this electrical impulse is transmitted without delay. A first degree heart block is a slight delay of this electrical impulse transmission from the upper chambers of the heart to the lower chambers of the heart. CAUSES RISK FACTORS Older age. George MacDonald, in one of his most famous novels, The Princess and the Goblin, displays an acute awareness of this fact, presenting us with some of the most colorful and unforgettable characters seen in children s literature. This is usually after some inconvenient trials placed upon the family by the goblin, such as sawdust in the house or dirt in the milk, all to test the disposition of the family and their recognition of the goblin s partial claim to the household (Keightly, 239). It is clear that this traditional goblin hardly fits the description of MacDonald s more menacing, subterranean goblin, and it has been suggested that the dwarf in folklore better describes this type of creature (Morris). Dwarves are a subterranean race [that] has no proper communication with mankind, who accomplish their business in the night, and not by the day (Keightly, 217). This nearly echoes The Princess and the Goblin, where the goblins had all taken refuge in the subterranean caverns, whence they never came out but at night, and them seldom showed themselves in any numbers (MacDonald, 12). MacDonald s goblins also show the natural mischievousness of dwarves who had a propensity to thieving ... even women and children, which fueled the goblin s desire to kidnap Princess Irene. It is from clear which traditions MacDonald has drawn in the creation of his species. Ironically, however, the queen of the goblins is decidedly ungoblin like, even among the race of humanoids in

Despite this, it is worth noting that immigration was not a new phenomenon in 1945. Britain had welcomed refugees in the past, notably the Irish who became one of the largest groups throughout the 20th century. Many Europeans also sought refuge in Britain, for example German refugees who fled to Britain in 1930 ; Peter Fryer notes on the existing black community in Britain since the 16th century. However, the level of immigration after 1945 was enough to redefine British culture and created an exclusive national identity by where Britishness is now recognised through the colour of your skin. Race as a concept has also transformed, with culture being a major element in British society. Politics has also had a major influence, with the introduction of immigration laws bringing equality among Britain s citizens, although this could highlight the opinions of the public with the need for legislation to be introduced. The economy thrived with immigration, noting on the Windrush which allowed the empty gaps in employment to be filled. However, despite the progress that has been made due to immigration, the reaction of the people wasn t always as positive, subsequently leading to racial tensions and a lack of respect among the people for immigration. Prokaryotic cells are smaller and simpler, e.g. Bacteria (AQA 2008) Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles, whereas prokaryotic cells do not contain these. Although both of these cells contain DNA, only eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus. The nucleus is the largest organelle, surrounded by a double membrane (nuclear envelope) containing lots of pores. The nuclear membrane protects contents of the nucleus and controls the transport of substances in and out. The nucleus contains linear DNA in chromatin which protects the DNA from damage. Chromatin is formed of DNA which controls the activities of the cell. The nucleus often contains a structure called the nucleolus. This structure produces ribosomes which enter the cytoplasm in the cell through the nuclear pores, as well as transcribing DNA into RNA. Prokaryotic cells do not contain nuclei. Instead of having a nucleus to carry the DNA, these cells contain plasmids with circular DNA, as well as having most of the DNA float freely inside the cytoplasm. The plasmids carry the information necessary to keep the cell alive. For example including genes that make the bacteria cell resistant to antibiotics. The Articles of Confederation was later ratified by each state in 1781. It was America s first federal constitution (Keene 138). The confederation had a few strengths but many weaknesses. The nation faced many economic and political issues that lead people to controversy. The Articles of Confederationdeveloped dominance in separate states. Every state was evenly represented, and was granted one vote. Out of those 13 states only 9 states had to come to a unanimous agreement, in order for new amendments to be imposed. Some of the strengths were, the power to make war peace, handle foreign relations, Indian affairs, and adjudicate disputes between the states (Creating the U.S. ppt I). An additional strength was The Articles had the control to print and mint money. However, I do not believe this was for their best interest. Continental Paper Currency, was valueless in other states; therefore, each state had to use their own money. I believe the Confederation Government was doomed to fail. For instance, their weak Constitution, had several money problems. One weakness was the Government did not have the power to tax. The Government lacked in funds. This left the Articles no choice but to rely on

This person is someone I admire and hope to be like her someday. My Abuela, Nory touched the heart and soul of everyone that met her, but none more so than me. She has always been there for me and my family. My Abuela has taught me many valuable things in life and hopefully, she will continue to do that. Nory is important to me because she knows how to cook, she knows how to have fun, and she s the most confident person I have ever seen. First of all, Nory is an exceptional chef. We all know how amazing a grandma can cook especially if she s Hispanic. They know the recipes from the old world and can recreate them perfectly. When we try to copy their masterpieces we find that we still fall short. No one can measure up to my grandma. This 5 foot 3, 65 year old beast of a woman can make you taste heaven in every meal that she prepares. I have always loved baking but I found it fascinated when I would watch my grandma cook. She always has more than two shoves one plus the rice cooker and the microwave. If you have ever seen how busy a five star restaurant kitchen is on a weekend then I m sure you can picture just how busy the kitchen is, except in this case its only one master chef. Her short auburn hair is all over the place, the sweat on her face shows just how much she has worked and you can never forget her signature mismatched socks. The best

Does new system inspirit and change course to better or lead to weak and indecisive government? Whereas first past the post developed stable majorities in parliament, there are always was a lack of suffer from grave shortcomings, for example majority of population remains unrepresented in government bodies, and a party, which wins less voices in selection than their contestants, can be represented by more seats. Nation is looking forward to see the fairness and progress of parliamentary works of country, which can be motivated by advantageousness of proportional representation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is why the proportional representation is more fair system than first past the post. Nevertheless proportional representation has it disadvantages. First of all, there are complexity in formation of government because of multi party coalitions includes parties with different majorities, goals and assignments. Owing to that, it is quite hard to produce common, clear and strong program. A regime, which is based on this background, differs with instability. Secondly this system brings to the situation when legation in government bodies gets political power. Also, in proportional representation, because of election process carry out with political parties, not with specific candidates, direct connection between constituents and their representatives is weak. Finally, whereas the election of this system is for political parties, delegates depend on their partial guidance. It can badly result in debates and important documents adoption. It seems clear that both first past the post and proportional representation electoral systems have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, no doubts, despite all this disadvantages, comparing two systems gives that in multi party conditions proportional presentation more democratic than first past the post. Eventually, the analysis of advantages and disadvantages of proportional representation shows that even with this numerous defects of system, PR can inspirit government with only

Instead of asking the people walking in and out with 2 3 long questions, we switch to short and simple questions; for example what are the challenges from buying healthy food? or What is stopping you from buying or eating healthy food and products? etc. While we conducting the interview, we realized that the shorter the simpler the questions, the more effective the interview. When we start interviewing people with long questions, lots of people tented to hesitate on answering, some even walk away after the first question. After we change our strategy and questions into shorter and simpler, people turn out to be more interested in answering and more collaborative, especially when we helped narrow the answerchoices into yes or

INTRODUCTION With the increased pressure to succeed and the chaotic collegiate lifestyle taking a toll on students, Adderall has evolved into the go to drug. The Class II prescription amphetamine is intended to solely treat individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. The stimulant works to enhance concentration by stimulating the production of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain (Stolz 585). Recently, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of Adderall on college campuses to enhance academic performance and cram for exams through the over stimulation of the brain, therefore creating super enhanced focus (Stolz 585), deeming it the smart drug. Due to the fact that several students are not truly diagnosed with ADHD, a majority of this use on campuses is illegal; this has become a growing problem affecting the health of students and entailing issues of competiveness and fairness (Jacobs 1). In recent years, the abuse of Adderall has circulated hundreds of college campuses and even secondary schools. Unfortunately, students are being deceived by the stimulant drug s valuable qualities, masking the serious, detrimental effects that the drug induces. Even worse, contributing to Adderall s extensive abuse across campuses, instead of condemnation it is implicitly being praised and validated by parents and students who view these drugs as a means of academic

It can be expected that after the trees mature enough to produce a sufficient amount of apples, the orchard will begin to become a steady revenue stream for Zenda. You may wonder how it s even possible that we can be so easily influenced by what some consider an aimless series of vampire books . A study was done in 2009 at the University of Toronto in Canada testing the hypothesis that art can cause significant changes in the experience of one s own personality traits under laboratory conditions. According to the research journal, On Being Moved by Art: How Reading Fiction Transforms the Self, created by several authors: After completing a set of questionnaires, including the Big Five Inventory (BFI) and an emotion checklist, the experimental group read the short story The Lady With the Toy Dog by Chekhov, while the control group read a comparison text that had the same content as the story, but was documentary in form. Participants then completed again the BFI and emotion checklist, randomly placed within a larger set of questionnaires. The results show the experimental group experienced significantly greater change in self reported experience of personality traits than the control group, and that emotion change mediated the effect of art on traits. Modernism is defying convention to an extreme degree, disregarding boundaries completely in rhythm and tonality, opening up doors that would eventually redefine the notion of what constitutes music. Industrial Estate s Liability The rule in Rylands applies to owners of premises as well as occupiers, but Bell would have difficulty overcoming the proofs outlined in respect of Industrial, namely accumulation for Industrial s benefit etc. and the absence of any control by Industrial over the harmful substances. Liability would be more successfully attached to Industrial in negligence for its failure to keep the road in a good state of repair. Firstly, Bell will need to establish that it owed a duty of care to it. As Lord Atkin stated in O Donoghue v Stevenson you must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omission which you can reasonably foresee would be liable to injure your neighbour. While neighbour in this sense does not strictly mean persons who occupy the property beside you, it was established in Glencar Explorations v Mayo Co.Co. that if a plaintiff and defendant s relationship is sufficiently proximate, and the harm caused was foreseeable, then in the absence of policy limitations, a duty of care would arise. Bell should be able to establish a duty of care in that by failing to maintain the road in a good condition, it was reasonably foreseeable that such failure could cause injury to Bell s property, as Industrial knew that tanks full of harmful substances travelled on the road on a daily basis, and that if such chemicals were to escape due to an accident caused by the defective road, they would

This is a full length painting believed to be commissioned by her lover, Earl of Cholomondeley in 1777 (Major, 2016). This portrait goes beyond a simple painting of a mistress. Rather, Gainsborough s portrait of Grace is a study of striking and noble beauty versus a celebration of female sexuality as a commodity. Gainsborough accomplished this art piece by using several uncommon practices in his portrait making techniques. The first is using a six foot handle brush working directly on the canvas to give himself a better viewpoint of his work. Second, Gainsborough often painted by candlelight, attempting to simulate the soft lighting in which the painting would be viewed (Information for Parents, n.d.). Gainsborough was very successful in creating an atmospheric mood and unity between the backgrounds and figures in his paintings. He displayed great skill in the use of color repetitions and contrasts, fluid brushstrokes, and highlighting. Grace, in her full length portrait, appears both self confident and majestic as she leans forward on her left foot. She is wearing a simple, snug ribbon choker around her throat that graciously drapes down the front of her chest where she clasps the train of her gown in a gesture of vulnerability. Her other jewelry is a pair of small stud gold earrings and a layered bracelet of strung pearls on both wrists adds a unique touch to not over power or

Aristotle s Philosophy On The Morality Of War Essay Throughout history, mankind have fought one another at great cost and for almost as long as people have been waging war, people have been asking questions surrounding the morality of war. In ancient Greece Aristotle raised a number of ideals that he believed should be adhered to, he believed that war needed to be regulated by a universal community under natural law. He also criticised the desire to conquer as a valid means of going to war. His views where based on the stoic tenants of virtue and reason. Aristotle s teaching began to gain traction again in Europe during the 13th century, some of his teachings conflicted with the ideas of the Catholic Church which at the time was a major political power. Thomas Aquinasin the Summa Theologica began to combine the Church s ideals with that of Aristotle s to present a picture of how war should be. In order for a war to be just, states need to have the right motivations to go to war and they need to conduct themselves in a moral way while at war. This idea of Just War has evolved over the years through theorists such as Vitoria and has been criticised by others such as Erasmus. Now in the 21st century we have a slightly different much more secularised view of Just war. Political theorist Brian Orend, suggests that for a war to be truly just it must also have an ethical end, states must have a valid exit strategy that doesn t leave the country in chaotic ruins after the war. • 54. Race Theory Of Race And Racism Theories of race and racism have been used by sociologists to not only describe modern societies but also address issues of social injustice and achieve an end to racial oppression. Critical race theory is one of the most widely used for this purpose and provides the structure employed by Dwanna Robertson in her analysis of racism against Native Americans and the consequences they have experienced as a result. She uses the term legitimized racism to discuss the racialization of American Indians. By classifying Indians as evil and less than human, whites felt justified in using cruelty against them in order to appropriate their land and resources during the settlement of the Americas. As a result of this, the part Native Americans play is both pivotal and foundational in the economic and internal socio racial reality of the United States. Their social and economic inequality is often blamed on a culture of alcoholism, individual laziness, and rural living while the fact that they are subject to racial oppression is ignored. Using an Indigenous epistemology and a qualitative approach, the author studied what she termed the act of legitimized racism. She analyzed its influence and, through interviews, collected narratives of those who had confronted legitimized racism. These interviews were with forty five Indigenous people over the age of eighteen from twenty nine distinct tribes between June 2009 and May 2013. As the participants needed to identify ethnically as
