Vice Principal’s Message,
We, at ALAGU JOTHI ACADEMY believe that education is a process of awakening individual
potential to creative knowledge, but more importantly enlightening students with the wisdom
that they must “never put a price tag on their heart and soul”.
Agood career is important but a good character is paramount. We believe that 'individuals' are
the atoms that hold tremendous power within to serve as agents of change and thus are
confident that our students, enriched with a sense of high morality and social responsibility will
be makers of a virtuous society.
The initial march into school is that giant step forward, where children embark on the great adventure of
discovering the wide world outside and the depth of the world within. As we hold the little finger and guide the
young ones forward, we realize our responsibility of nurturing their curiosity, igniting their minds to pierce the
skies, helping them to discover the world of books and richness of experience, ponder on the “mystery of birds
in the sky, the bees in the sun, the flowers on a green hill”, and today master the magic of technology and the
limitless span of cyber space.
In a world of stiff competition, strife and unrealistic aspirations, calls for sensitivity on our part as educators to
help children understand that predicament is common to everyone. Problems and challenges need to be faced
courageously with conviction and confidence in our inner strength and dreams.
Mrs. Amuda,
Vice Principal

Heritage Logo Release 06-08-2022
AJA celebrates this academic year (2022-2023) as the Year of Heritage. Our Natural heritage
comprises the components of the natural environment that have aesthetic, historic, scientific and
social significance or other special value for future generations, as well as for the present community.
As a source of identity, heritage is a valuable factor for empowering local communities and enabling
vulnerable groups to participate fully in social and cultural life. As a representation of heritage year,
logo for the same has been released which comprises pictures of Thanjavur, Brahadeeshwarar temple,
Thiruvallur temple, St. Thomas church, Mahabalipuram temple, Meenakshi amman temple and
Jallikattu Tamilnadu “ The land of a rich heritage”
Thanjavur is a place well-known for its art and architecture. The Brihadeeswara Temple was
recognized as UNESCO's World Heritage Site in the year 1987. This colossal shrine will make every
beholder awestruck. Being the ardent devotee of Lord Shiva King Raja Raja Cholan built this temple
with his utmost passion and brilliant architectural Style. Every nook and cranny of this colossal temple
speaks of Raja Raja Chola's fame. The deity was first named as the “Rajarajeshwar”. Later during the
reign of Marathas, the deity was called as the Brahadeswar or the great Ishwara. According to the
temple facts, the main sanctum was built purely with granite stones. It is believed that more than
130,000 tons of granite had been used in the construction of this specific building.
Thiruvalluvar, a poet and philosopher, is regarded as a cultural icon by Tamils. His most popular
work is Thirukkural, a collection of couplets on ethics, politics, economy and love.
In the early 16th century, a temple dedicated to Thiruvalluvar was built within the Ekambareswarar
temple complex in Mylapore, Chennai. Locals believe that this was where he was born, underneath
a tree within the temple complex.
Santhome basilica is one of the three churches in the world which holds the tomb of Apostles of
Jesus Christ. St. Thomas is the apostle of Jesus after whom the church stands today in the name
Santhome. Minor Santhome Basilica is one the important tourist attraction for those who visit
Chennai.
The Mamallapuram monuments and temples, including the Shore Temple complex, were
collectively designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984. Portion of the sculptures at Shore
Temple, Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram), Tamil Nadu, India
Meenakshi Amman Temple, also known as Minakshi-Sundareshwara Temple, is one of the oldest
and most important temples in India. Located in the city of Madurai, the temple has a great
mythological and historical significance.
Jallikattu has been known to be practiced during the Tamil classical period (400–100 BCE). It was
common among the Ayar people who lived in the 'Mullai' geographical division of the ancient
Tamizh Nadu. Later, it became a platform for display of bravery, and prize money was introduced
for participation encouragement.

better than Krishna Jayanthi which gives plenty of opportunities to involve children in celebrations.

Class Room Activities (Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary)
27-08-2022
For children, it is a great way to understand and learn the rich hertiage of India and the importance of
various festivals. Along with fun and enthusiasm for the activities related to the festival, qualities like
creativity, sensitivity and a feeling of togetherness are also inculcated in the students.
st
To seek blessings of Lord Ganesha, Vinayaga Chathurthi was celebrated on 31 of August 2022 by
our school children in a unique way. A special pooja commenced on a spiritual note with the
chanting of the famous Ganesh shloka by our children. The students were explained about the
significance of the festival and the importance of eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival.
Sweets and sundal are distributed to the children as well as staff.
Children are particularly the ones who enjoy festivals more than adults. Festivals to them mean
decorations, sweets, gifts, games and lots of other celebrations. To inculcate these habits, children
were asked to prepare idols and picture using different things.
Grade 4 children prepared Ganesh a picture with leaves, Grade 5 children prepared Idols of Ganesh
using clay, Grade 6 children prepared Ganesh picture with pulses, Grade 7 children prepared Ganesh
picture with Rice and Grade 8 children prepared Ganesh a idols using vegetables. The best three
from each category were selected and awarded.
The festival awakened devotion, creativity, understanding and learning amongst children.
Studying in the classroom can become so boring. Students often find it challenging to focus on
what is being taught for more than a few minutes. What about teaching the same topics but in a
more fun way? These student-oriented classroom activities that we conduct at AJA will ensure
enthusiastic student involvement and deliver quality instruction to our children. Students learn
through their participation in the attainment of knowledge by gathering information and
processing it by solving problems and articulating what they have discovered. Each activity in our
classes provides students with opportunities to deepen their learning by applying concepts and
articulating new knowledge.

Our school gives importance for co-curricular activities which can bring social skills, intellectual skills,
moral values, personality progress and character appeal to our students. They are involved in athletics,
cultural events, library activities, science lab activities, classroom activities, creative arts, super yoga,
etc., They can learn to manage time, organizational skill and improved self-confidence.
Our school is given chances for our students to shine in different ECA like sports where teamwork and
leadership can be enriched; dance which is a therapy more than passion and academic clubs to
develop and exhibit their skills.

Teaching Learning Corner
Our teachers engaged and grasped the attention of the learner by their skills such as organizational, self-
confidence, empathizing, dealing out the confidence with critical thinking and encouragement. They are good
insoftskillswhichmayincludeemotionalintelligence,socialawarenessandleadership.
Buildings, Classrooms, Laboratories and Equipment- Education infrastructure are the crucial
elements of learning environments in school. Our school has good infrastructure with renewed
spaces, makes it possible for children live in remote area to learning sports and physical activities as
are vital. The training of the students take place in well furnished playgrounds. The children make use
of well organized library facility for their learning.
Hands-on learning is the process of learning by actually doing and experiencing something, rather
than just being told about it. The term “hands-on” is used because these activities usually involve the
physical use of the hands – for example children might use manipulative tools such as counting cubes
and sorting objects to understand mathematical concepts, rather than just being taught the theory
via books or pencil and paper exercises.
Hands-on learning is particularly important for young children, as this is how they are programmed to
learn. Children learn from observing, copying, and experimenting with their hands and body as soon
as they are born, and play continues to be the most important way of learning new skills until they
reach school age and beyond.
Children can develop skills much faster when they're having fun. For example, teaching the alphabet
and basic letter forming skills can quickly become boring for young children with traditional pencil
and paper or flash cards.
Instead, allowing them to use a tray of sand or shaving foam to trace out letters with their fingers, or
providing play-dough or clay to form the letters is a fun activity that won't seem difficult or
intimidating. Not only is it more enjoyable to learn about letters in this way, children are also more
likely to remember how to form the letters better than more traditional literacy exercises.

  • 3. Vice Principal’s Message, We, at ALAGU JOTHI ACADEMY believe that education is a process of awakening individual potential to creative knowledge, but more importantly enlightening students with the wisdom that they must “never put a price tag on their heart and soul”. Agood career is important but a good character is paramount. We believe that 'individuals' are the atoms that hold tremendous power within to serve as agents of change and thus are confident that our students, enriched with a sense of high morality and social responsibility will be makers of a virtuous society. The initial march into school is that giant step forward, where children embark on the great adventure of discovering the wide world outside and the depth of the world within. As we hold the little finger and guide the young ones forward, we realize our responsibility of nurturing their curiosity, igniting their minds to pierce the skies, helping them to discover the world of books and richness of experience, ponder on the “mystery of birds in the sky, the bees in the sun, the flowers on a green hill”, and today master the magic of technology and the limitless span of cyber space. In a world of stiff competition, strife and unrealistic aspirations, calls for sensitivity on our part as educators to help children understand that predicament is common to everyone. Problems and challenges need to be faced courageously with conviction and confidence in our inner strength and dreams. Mrs. Amuda, Vice Principal Dear Students and Parents, ACO’s Message, C h a r a c t e r creates self r e s p e c t , which in turn leads to high self esteem. Maturity is reflected in all aspects of character- the decision we make, the friends we c h o o s e a n d t h e r e s p o n s i b i l i t i e s w e accept.Always remember to uphold the dignity of people. Be always ready to give preference to others. What you are is god's gift to you. What you become is the gift to god. Do bring out the best in you. Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue a c a d e m i c excellence but also to motivate and empower the students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever- changing global society. we provide an atmosphere to our students for multifaceted development, where children are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. This can only be possible in a holistic, student- centric environment. We, Alagu Jothi Academy identifies the talents, skills, and abilities of each student and encourages so that he / she is able to reach greater heights. Role of education in today's era is not only to pursue academic excellence but also requires overall development of a child. We are helping students to develop their mental, physical and social traits. The school organizes scholastic and co- scholastic activities round the year, that promote creativity and innovative thinking in students. I am happy for the opportunity for writing this message and I am proud of my school for providing us conducive work environment, infrastructure, use modern technology and freedom to experiment. As guides and mentors, we shall ensure that our students would become modest, humble and disciplined as they soar heights in their career and bring laurels not only to their families and school but also to their mother land. • 5. Heritage Logo Release 06-08-2022 AJA celebrates this academic year (2022-2023) as the Year of Heritage. Our Natural heritage comprises the components of the natural environment that have aesthetic, historic, scientific and social significance or other special value for future generations, as well as for the present community. As a source of identity, heritage is a valuable factor for empowering local communities and enabling vulnerable groups to participate fully in social and cultural life. As a representation of heritage year, logo for the same has been released which comprises pictures of Thanjavur, Brahadeeshwarar temple, Thiruvallur temple, St. Thomas church, Mahabalipuram temple, Meenakshi amman temple and Jallikattu Tamilnadu “ The land of a rich heritage” Thanjavur is a place well-known for its art and architecture. The Brihadeeswara Temple was recognized as UNESCO's World Heritage Site in the year 1987. This colossal shrine will make every beholder awestruck. Being the ardent devotee of Lord Shiva King Raja Raja Cholan built this temple with his utmost passion and brilliant architectural Style. Every nook and cranny of this colossal temple speaks of Raja Raja Chola's fame. The deity was first named as the “Rajarajeshwar”. Later during the reign of Marathas, the deity was called as the Brahadeswar or the great Ishwara. According to the temple facts, the main sanctum was built purely with granite stones. It is believed that more than 130,000 tons of granite had been used in the construction of this specific building. Thiruvalluvar, a poet and philosopher, is regarded as a cultural icon by Tamils. His most popular work is Thirukkural, a collection of couplets on ethics, politics, economy and love. In the early 16th century, a temple dedicated to Thiruvalluvar was built within the Ekambareswarar temple complex in Mylapore, Chennai. Locals believe that this was where he was born, underneath a tree within the temple complex. • 14. Teaching Learning Corner Our teachers engaged and grasped the attention of the learner by their skills such as organizational, self- confidence, empathizing, dealing out the confidence with critical thinking and encouragement. They are good insoftskillswhichmayincludeemotionalintelligence, socialawarenessandleadership. Buildings, Classrooms, Laboratories and Equipment- Education infrastructure are the crucial elements of learning environments in school. Our school has good infrastructure with renewed spaces, makes it possible for children live in remote area to learning sports and physical activities as are vital. The training of the students take place in well furnished playgrounds. The children make use of well organized library facility for their learning. Hands-on learning is the process of learning by actually doing and experiencing something, rather than just being told about it. The term “hands-on” is used because these activities usually involve the physical use of the hands – for example children might use manipulative tools such as counting cubes and sorting objects to understand mathematical concepts, rather than just being taught the theory via books or pencil and paper exercises. Hands-on learning is particularly important for young children, as this is how they are programmed to learn. Children learn from observing, copying, and experimenting with their hands and body as soon as they are born, and play continues to be the most important way of learning new skills until they reach school age and beyond. Children can develop skills much faster when they're having fun. For example, teaching the alphabet and basic letter forming skills can quickly become boring for young children with traditional pencil and paper or flash cards. Instead, allowing them to use a tray of sand or shaving foam to trace out letters with their fingers, or providing play-dough or clay to form the letters is a fun activity that won't seem difficult or intimidating. Not only is it more enjoyable to learn about letters in this way, children are also more likely to remember how to form the letters better than more traditional literacy exercises.
