Prisms & Pyramids
Prisms and pyramids are types of polyhedrons. A prism has congruent sides, while a pyramid has sides that decrease in size towards the top. To identify a shape as a prism or pyramid, look at the base polygon and use its name along with the term prism or pyramid, such as a pentagonal prism or octagonal pyramid. The only unique term is cube, which refers to a rectangular prism with six completely congruent faces.
