3. Printing:
• Printing can be described as the controlled plabe brought to tacing of defined areas of
colour on to a substrate. The colourant must first he fiber surface usually in the form
of a printing paste. If it is a soluble dyestuff, it must be diffused into the fibers. The
colourant must then be fixed in place and finally, excess unfixed colour has to be
washed out.
