There are two main types of satellites: natural satellites like the Moon, and artificial satellites built by humans and launched into space using rockets to orbit Earth. Artificial satellites are used for communication, collecting weather and other scientific information, and making maps. Other objects in space include comets, asteroids, stars grouped into galaxies, and our solar system is located within the Milky Way galaxy. The solar system contains eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Mercury and Venus are made of rock, while the others are made of gases, with Jupiter being the largest planet and Saturn having iconic rings.
