Symmetry means –
                   Patterned self
 similarity
A shape or an object has symmetry
when a line drawn can split the shape
 exactly into two.
To be a line of
symmetry, the shape must
have two halves that
match exactly.

When you trace a heart onto
a piece of folded paper,
and then cut it out, the two half
hearts make a whole heart.
The two halves are symmetrical.
TYPES OF SYMMETRY

Symmetry is of many types.
The two main types of
 Symmetry are

   Reflective Symmetry
          and
   Rotational Symmetry
REFLECTIVE SYMMETRY

A flat (2-D) shape has Reflective
 Symmetry when each half of
the shape on either side of a
 bisecting line is the mirror
 image of the other half.
The result of a figure flipped over a line.
Thank you for watching my
presentation and I hope you
find it useful for learning
symmetry and it’s basic forms.
