SYMMETRY
Symmetry is when an object has two or
more equal sides when split in half or in
smaller pieces.
Something is symmetrical when it is
the same on both sides. A shape
has symmetry if a central dividing line
(a mirror line) can be drawn on it, to
show that both sides of the shape are
exactly the same.

REFLECTION /LINE SYMMETRY
Reflection symmetry is a type of
symmetry which is with respect to
reflections. It is also known as line
symmetry or mirror symmetry
If a shape can be folded in half so
that one half fits exactly on top of
the other, then we say that the
shape has got line symmetry .

POINT SYMMETRY
Point Symmetry is when every part
has a matching part: the same
distance from the central point. but
in the opposite direction.
Point Symmetry is sometimes
called Origin Symmetry, because
the "Origin" is the central point
about which the shape is
symmetrical.

ROTATIONAL SYMMETRY
The rotational symmetry of
a shape explains that when
an object is rotated on its own
axis, the shape of the object
looks the same.
Many geometrical shapes
appear to be symmetrical
when they are rotated 180
degrees or with some angles,
clockwise or anticlockwise.
Some of the examples are
square, circle, hexagon, etc.
Order of Rotational Symmetry
The number of positions in
which a figure can be rotated
and still appears exactly as it
did before the rotation, is
called the order of symmetry.
