3. FONTS
Through out my work I used the same fonts to make my work
look consistent and professional. Most of my writing is in
capital letters which makes it stand out on the page and
doesn’t get lost in the background. The font I used for my
masthead was called ‘Ethon’ and the other font I used was
‘Bebas nueue’, however, on my double page spread interview
I had to use a serif font so I used simple ‘Time New Roman’.
The fonts I used are suitable for my target audience because
the are simple, bold fonts. If I used curly fonts it would make
my magazine look more poppy rather than rock which may
not attract my target audience.

4. COLOURS
Though out my magazine I had a colour scheme of black,
white, red and yellow. These colours suit my target audience
because they are dark colours yet they contrast with the
brighter ones. On my front cover I used the 3 colour rule,
only using red, yellow and black. Using too many colours
would detract people from my magazine because it would
look too busy and confusing.

5. IMAGES
For my images I used all mid shots beause when I did my
research I found that this was the most typical shot you
would find in magazines. It is the most used shot because
you can see the models facial expression and body language
which immediately sets the tone and mood for the magazine.
For my images I told my model to have a serious/laid back
facial expression because this is what other existing
magazines did. On my contents page I also used 2 smaller
images that promote having free posters in my magazine,
both of these images are also mid shots.

6. LAYOUT
For my magazine I used a simple layout. Having a more
complication layout would make people not want to read my
magazine so it is important that the layout looks good and
isn't too over crowded or empty. My contents page layout is
different from most existing magazines because I had my
writing on the bottom half of the page, even though, this isnt
the typical lay out for a contents page I think it looks good
and not too cramped together. Using 3 columns on my
double page spread made my interview look structure and
neat. To keep my target audience attracted to the article I
altered the colours of the text between the questions and
answers coordinating with my colour scheme.
