3. Rule of thirds
This double page spread follows
the conventions of the rule of
thirds.
There are three images included, this is the
common amount of images used in double
page spreads for documentaries.
Therefore this follows the conventions for
the images. They are also placed in the top
half of the double page with the main
image on the left.
The text is in the bottom half of the double
page spread and are continued into the top
half on the right hand page . This is a
common convention of double page
spreads.
There is a
quote
included in
the middle
section which
follows the
conventions.
4. The colour conventions of a double page
spread include a range of 2 coulors however
this doube page spread only has the black
text with a plain background. This, I feel is
boring to look at. The only colour is in the
pictures.
The masthead is at the top of the
page written in a larger font. This
is a typical convention.
The standfirst is
used to give
background
information for
the article and
establish what
the article is
about. This is
conventionally
the first text text
to be read after
the masthead.
A convention of a
double page spread is
to have a description
under the image
explaining what it is
showing.
Using a dropcap is a common
convention in double page spreads this
indicates where the article starts and
draws attention to the start of the
article.
A quote form the
article is usually
pulled out and
put into a bigger
font on the side.
This is a
convention used
to give readers a
quick insight as
to what is going
to be said in the
article therefor
intriguing the
reader.
