This document outlines a multi-lesson plan for teaching Hamlet. Students will first read and discuss an article about the play in pairs. They will then complete a written assessment answering questions about themes and characters. Later, students will perform scenes from the play in groups, acting them out for their classmates. Dividing the lesson over multiple periods allows time for critical reading, assessment, and preparation to perform sections of the play.
SSR is an acronym for sustained silent reading. first developed over thirty years ago by Lyman hunt at the university of Vermont, SSR has become a common practice in classrooms. Some teachers go further and build SSR into every school day. SSR occurs often in elementary and middle school settings, and in high school are beginning to embrace this practice

What would you do if you had access to all the routing data from the Internet? In this talk, we will introduce a new framework for collecting, storing, and parsing routing data in a way that can be made available to network engineers and application developers through a simple and clean REST API. This API presents a new opportunity for network engineers to understand, visualize, and analyze their network in a way consistent with today’s software engineering practices.
DEVNET-1159 Deep Dive with the Cisco WAN Automation EngineCisco DevNet

With the rise of microservices deployment methodology and its advantages in speed, resilience and maintainability, there is growing demand in being able to deliver Hadoop ecosystem-based applications that follow the same strategy and co-exist with other containerize applications. In this session we’ll focus on the new developments in being able to deploy Hadoop with docker-based systems and their advantages.
DEVNET-1140 InterCloud Mapreduce and Spark Workload Migration and Sharing: Fi...Cisco DevNet
Data gravity is a reality when dealing with massive amounts and globally distributed systems. Processing this data requires distributed analytics processing across InterCloud. In this presentation we will share our real world experience with storing, routing, and processing big data workloads on Cisco Cloud Services and Amazon Web Services clouds.
DEVNET-1125 Partner Case Study - “Project Hybrid Engineer”Cisco DevNet
Programming and API knowledge are common themes across SDN and “Open”. As we focus more on software, we will see a proliferation of APIs and a need to understand programming. An effective _hybrid_ engineer tomorrow will have both solid networking skills as well as an understanding of programmatic concepts. Keeping these technology and industry transitions in mind, Cisco Americas Partners Organization (APO) kicked off “Project Hybrid Engineer” this summer for Cisco Partners SEs with a focus on enhancing hands-on network programmability knowledge. This session highlights some of the key initiatives underway where APO is taking its experiences and enabling key Cisco Partners workforce for Cisco's Network Programmability solutions early on in the lifecycle. If you are a Cisco Partner, come and learn how you can benefit from “Project Hybrid Engineer” and get your workforce ready for this key technology transition.
2. I want you to first read the article I have provided by the Royal
Shakespeare Company (RSC) based on the play Hamlet.
Learners should engage with the reading, ask questions and
be critical as we have read the play in class. This can be read
in pairs for the first 10 minutes of the lesson thus the next 10
minutes will be used for critical evaluation. The remaining time
for the period can be used for a class discussion that may be
allowed to be turned into a debate
One 30minutes period on a
Tuesday in the morning.
The rest of he activity will continue on
during the Thursday period
3. 6. Authentic activities provide the opportunity to
reflect.
This is so because learners can work in pairs and then be open to a class discussion
also being critical and reading the article more than once gives the learners a
chance to reflect on the play and how the article is of important as a link
5. Authentic activities provide the opportunity to
collaborate. By so working in pairs learners get to socialise with other
different individuals even though it is in a classroom context the skills they
learn there are those that can be applied in ones life overall
4. Today there will be a class assessment task in a form of class
activity there will be a questionnaire that will ask you to actually
discuss in writing the moral dilemmas of any of the two characters
in the play. Thus talk about one theme and motif of the play with
reference to the RSC article we read last week . The learners can
refer to their notes and the article but they are advised to write in
their own words and understanding thus provides their own
reasoning apart from what has already been discussed about the
play Hamlet.
Thursday afternoon we
have two 30 minutes
periods
The test will take the entire period
as learners are required to
answer as much and as critical as
they can
5. 2. Authentic activities are ill-defined, requiring students to define the
tasks and subtasks needed to complete the activity. In this case learners
know the task at hand and have done readings on it but the application of themselves
within the questions will be the challenge. Learners must identify their own unique tasks
and subtasks in order to complete the major task .
8. Authentic activities are seamlessly integrated with assessment.
Real world challenges and assessments require someone who can think outside the
box someone who can provide an account of events the way in which they perceive
and understand it of which this is what this activity aims to do
6. During the Thursday period learners are advised that there will be
a recital of the play as a practical example thus all learners can
have a better understanding rather than the task only being
done in theory. Learners should divide them selves in groups thus
pick an act and a scene they will be playing in the Monday
class. Learners have about 3 days to prepare and acquire all the
necessary information they will need to execute the play
perfectly with understanding .
7. The RSC educational pack has great ideas of how
learners can go about creating their own version of the
play. This document is part of the resources I have in my
folder.
8. Learns will be acting for each other per group thus the other groups
will act as the audience while the other is performing . moreover as
the teacher I will be assessing how they execute the play and if the
relevant acts are there. They can also critically evaluate each other
if there is still time
Monday it is a 1 hour period
9. 9. Authentic activities create polished products valuable in their own
right rather than as preparation for something else.
4. Authentic activities provide the opportunity for students to
examine
the task from different perspectives, using a variety of resources.
Students can examine the play using them selves as actors so that it can be relevant to
them
5. Authentic activities provide the
opportunity to collaborate. Students work
in groups for the play to be a success
3. Authentic activities comprise complex tasks to be investigated
by students over a sustained period of time. Learners have time to
prepare for the lesson and the play
10. This lesson will take place over 3 separate periods in order
to get to the core of the lesson on Hamlet as a paly
