The ancillary work of the CD cover and inlays effectively branded the artist Quinn Harper and her album "Hopeless Intentions" through consistent typography. The combination of the main music video and ancillary materials worked well together, with themes like a "torn soul" depicted through cracked walls and duplicated images of the performer in the cover matching the psychological breakdown shown in the video. Locations in the video also matched the narrative themes intended for the indie/rock genre. However, the artist's makeup and grooming could have been accentuated more on the cover materials to better attract audiences.

2. The ancillary work of the cd
cover/inlays is very coherent as
effectively this is a branding project for
artist Quinn Harper and her Cd
Hopeless Intentions. The typography is
consistent throughout her Cd Cover,
Inlays and Poster. The Album title
written in a font that imitates
handwriting, curly, as if in love/ heart
broken. The addition of the logo on
the Cd cover and poster is a way in
which the audience can easily identify
with her products. Effectively I have
created an institution for this artist.
The entire production effectively
communicates to the target audience to
show that each piece refers to the same
artist.

3. The combination of my main product and my ancillary task worked
in tie with one another as the main product both had black and
white footage and colour, which was reflected in the front cover of
the album and also the inlays.
The psychological breakdown of the main performer in the video
was very much evident and i managed to replicate that in the
ancillary task, by choosing a photo of the performer that depicted a
torn soul. This was then increased with the edited crack walls in the
background of the album cover. As the background of the Album
cover way grey, the washed out/faded effect behind the main
performer that was duplicated 4 times was gain depict a torn soul
proved very successful.
When filming the video, i purposely took shots of the sun glaring
into the camera lens to crate light spots that gave the footage a
realistic and authentic look. This was then imitated in some of the
inlays of the Album covers to create continuity within all media
products.

5. The layout of the ancillary task proved to be very successful as the
center positioning of the artist directed the focus onto to her. This helps
to develop artist identification as this album is generally about Quinn
Harper and her personal tribulations. The layout doesn't take any
attention away from the artist however it focuses the attention onto
her. It insinuates that her songs and the journey that the audience may
take away from the song will be about her. The visually stunning layout
of the main artist is duplicated four times which helps to build a specific
representation for Quinn Harper. It matches the turmoil and distressed
artist that performs in 'The Gospel'. There are many meanings that can
be extracted from the music video and this can be spotted within the
Cd cover/inlays. We were asked to develop an album cover that would
appeal to the eye of the customer/target audience. This is what the
album cover achieved as well as the album back and inlays. The quality
of the music video and ancillary task definitely work effectively as a
combination as they both fulfill the requirements and more of a rock/
indie narrative based music video.
The locations of the video matched perfectly with theme intentions of
the music video.

8. Things to improve on: the artist
doesn’t seem to have much makeup
on or haven’t been groomed to the
quality of some other Cd Covers that I
have seen and so on a selling point, to
attract the eye of the audience the
makeup on the Cd/covers and inlays,
the artists makeup could have been
accentuated.
