The opening of the radio bulletin features an introduction by Ronnie who speaks formally to convey the seriousness of the news. The presenter also uses a monotone voice for this reason. Lucy was chosen as the presenter because she can maintain a serious tone. The top story focuses on the recession due to its widespread impact. An offbeat story discusses a football match between Everton and Oldham Latics through fan interviews. The 5-minute recording includes these stories and voxpop interviews, though production values like audio quality are uneven in some places.

2. The opening
The opening of mine and my groups bulletin is the
jingle with a voice over done by Ronnie he
introduces the radio station and time and then he
introduces the host.
Ronnie speaks formal because the news is supposed
to be important and people don’t listen to it to have
a laugh they listen to find out about the world so
Ronnie has to keep his voice monotone so that it
keeps its seriousness.

3. The script
• The presenter had to have a monotone voice as
well because this makes it sound high quality
there voice couldn’t be upbeat and happy when
they are announcing the news because it’s a
serious matter and people wouldn’t take it
serious if the presenter had a happy cheerful
voice.
Me and my group chose to use Lucy as the
presenter because she can be serious when she
has to be where as the rest of the group crack
under pressure so it would have sounded very
ammature.

4. The Presenter
• Me and my group chose to do our top story being about the
recession because that is effecting everybody especially the people
who are listening to the news at that time. I way the one who chose
to do the story about comic relief and the events people are putting
on and the things people are doing to raise money and why they
think comic relief is so important and why they think comic relief has
become such a worldwide charity.
Our off the wall/ sports story is about Everton vs. Oldham Latics and
getting different peoples point of view of the match and the scores.
The story is also about how people feel about different football
players on the Oldham team and weather they believe the score is
fair or not.

5. The choice of top story and its
structure
• The closeness to home is the way it is being
reported on Oldham community radio and also
because the football match is about the Oldham
team so it is based in the Oldham community.
The personality of the story of Everton vs.
Oldham Latics is a commentator which so
happens to be a girl in my groups dad who
commentates all of the matches and knows alot
of information about the football and the
mangers and the costs ect he knows alot more
than just fans.

6. The length of recording
• The length of the main recording of the news
bulletin was supposed to be 5 minutes and
mine is 4minutes37seconds which is under
the 5 minute mark but the recording would
have gone to 5 minutes if me and the group
had stuck to the time schedule of each and
every different section of the recording it
would have got to 5 minutes exactly.

7. The content
• The final recording has a few voxpops included in it one
from the comic relief story which is a small interview
between one of my group members Lucy and one of
the comic relief ambassadors in college. There is
another voxpop of an interview between another one
of my group members Ronnie and two girls who have
re created the one direction comic relief video to raise
money for comic relief. There is another voxpop of an
interview between Lucy (a girl in my group) and a
football commentator which is also her dad so it was
easy to get a good fast interview off him.

8. The production values
• The final recording has a good high quality sound level the levels are all in
the correct places and there are a few different parts of it where the level
goes a bit above the line but it doesn’t make much of a difference it still
sounds good. There are a few times in the recording where the voxpops of
the interviews has gone a bit distorted and there is one voxpop where the
girl being interviewed is talking really quietly so it sounds weird because
all the interview is quite loud and then she talks really quiet so it sounds a
bit odd and doesn’t sound very professional and if we all had time me and
the group would have gone and re recorded it but we didn’t have the
time.
The editing of the recording is done quite well because me and the group
have become alot more confident with the editing software. Me and the
group have learnt how to cut down different parts of the recording and
also add a few different effects to the recording in the preliminary
recording we learnt how to add an echo to it so that is one of all of our
skills now for the main task.
