This document discusses optical illusion art, known as Op Art. It explains that optical illusions trick the eye and brain by sending confusing visual messages. Different types of illusions manipulate color, movement, or depth perception. The document provides examples of illusions that use simultaneous contrast of color, grid patterns to cause afterimages, and embedded images to create strange effects. It emphasizes that to create effective Op Art, lines must be exact and compositions must be neat with thoughtful use of color. Interactive apps and pavement artists are introduced that allow creating optical illusion designs.
Discover the world of Optical Illusion Art. This presentation includes work by M.C. Escher, Bridget Riley, and how-to steps for making your very own Op Art.

It is a presentation to show optical illusions to the kids. In CIE checkpoint classes, they have to study about optical illusions. It contains the definition as well as images which puzzle you more! Happy Learning..

VDIS10015 Developing Visual Imagery - Lecture 2Virtu Institute
In this lecture we will discuss how to develop and refine
drawing and other visual representation tools that can be
used to create original imagery. We will look at different
ways of creating image as well as ways to improve our
skills. These skills are physical but also cognitive tools for
professional practice. Our focus is on the development of
drawing rather than a particular level of drawing technique.
Some slides I'm using for an online event on January 16 for FLNW o8 (Elluminate URL http://elluminate.tekotago.ac.nz/join_meeting.html?meetingId=1199937659388)

Sander Spolspoel, independent animation movie creator at Swörl
If you want to show the UI of an app or website in a fast paced video animation, you’ll discover that it’s far too complex. In order to simplify, many best practices of UI visual design can be supersized. This talk shows you how extreme a UI can be simplified and abstracted for animated stories, served with side order or humor.
All ages can benefit from the stress-relieving effects of making art. This blog post offers all you need if you've been looking for entertaining, imaginative things to do with your kids as well as a simple, stress-relieving art activity for yourself. This article compiles art projects for preschoolers, tweens, teens, and adults. I've provided pictures, movies, and connections to more resources for learning.
Doodle art is a warm-up exercise that allows students to learn how an artist thinks using elements of art and principles of design, It is how an artist plays and it is fun!
2. Op Art is short for Optical Illusion Art
An Optical illusion is an image or picture that
plays a trick on your eye when you look at it.
3.
4. Happen when the brain can’t make sense of
what your eyes are seeing and your eyes are
confused on the messages your brain is
sending.
There are many types of illusions that effect
different parts of how we see and think.
The fist one we are looking at effects how
we see color
5. Simultaneous Contrast Illusion. The horizontal grey bar is the same shade
throughout. Why does it look like it is different colors?
Check this by covering everything except the bar.
6. This grid is an
aftermath illusion
that tricks the brain
by sending too many
messages at once.
After looking at the
image the eyes and
brain are not able to
stop sending the
overload of messages
which creates a
movement effect.
7. ThisIllusion is a video that you will stare
at for at least 30 seconds
Then, look at your hands or a face and
see if you notice anything strange
happening…
8.
9. Inorder to create Op Art there are 2 very
important things you need to understand.
#1 How to create
images that will trick
the eye of the viewer
#2 Being exact and
making straight NEAT
lines and color
10. Would This Illusion
still work if the lines
were not exact?
11. Wallovers is an
online app which
allows you to
create op art using
a grid
Anything you draw
is applied to a grid
on the screen
It is automatically
reflected, flipped,
and turned to
create a unique
piece of op art
12. Selecta grid, pattern, and background color,
then create your own designs, or click the
AUTODRAW button and watch the computer
generate patterns for you. Click the printer
icon to save your art. GET STARTED!!
13. Julian Beever From England
Pavement Chalk Artists
Known for creating optical illusions on side
walks
Often times people can stand in his art and
act as if they are a part of it.
Has a great sense of humor!
21. Neat and crisp Lines
A strong
composition
Good color choice
22.
23.
24. Starting in one section begin drawing “U”
shaped smilies to conect one side to the
other
In the next section use an upside down “U”
to make frownies- Connect all lines!
25. (forthis slide teacher will demonstrate
following steps using interactive whiteboard)
