Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

1. Genre research
• The target audience for the film is 15 we made it this age because of the
similarities we choose to use from our film inspiration which was ‘The
Imposter’. This film has similar themes as a young child goes missing
which we used as this has creates a good story that can be easily set in
a good detailed location and should be easy too understand.
• We choose this target audience as the storyline is emotional and could
frighten younger children as they could worry about this happening to
them. Young children are not as intelligent as teenagers and adults so
they will not understand the detail of what Is happening.
• We young children see homeless people really dirty, lifeless and quite
scary living on the streets they tend to hide behind or comfort the adult
they are with so they feel secure as they believe the homeless person is
a danger and could harm them as they are not trusted and would do
anything for money, love and comfort. So I believe this is why they will
not be suitable to watch this film which is what the Imposters film also
suggests from the research we have done on it.
• Documentary in general are not targeting young people anyway as it is
not what is suitable for them and ill not understand things that are
occuring
2. Main shots in Film Opening
This shot is when we first see the victim and his reaction of seeing
someone come into the shed. In this you can see his emotion of being
shocked and scared. You can also see the living conditions briefly of
how unhygienic and cramped he is which is then shown in the pictures
following the finding. In the filming we tried to make James (Josiah)
looks as small and vulnerable as possible to put emphases on the
emotion he is feeling and how he is seen by others
This is another key image as it shows the reaction of
the neighbour that has found Josiah (The victim)
and has decided to run away in shock and not
knowing what to do at this long awaited time of the
finding after so many years. We thought that if he
runs away it may suggest that he is going to call for
help and that it is what anyone would do in this
situation if they was shocked.
3. This is an image taken from the interview of Josiah and his
sister meeting for the first time since he has been found.
His body language shows he is still is shaken up from his
experience and will not even show his face to the
camera or to his sister. His sister (Sophie) is trying to lift his
spirits up and be happy but doesn’t seem to work. In this
interview we asked Josiah about his experience in the
shed.
The image shows an interview with Josiah’s mother
about how she is feeling after so many years not
knowing where he is, if he is alive or not. We think this
is a key part of the sequence as the family members
that are still having hopes on the finding of the child
still happening will be more enthusiastic, emotional
and real for it to come from family who love him.
4. Location shots
• The Location shots that we included in our film opening are key to show the
viewer the living conditions in which he was having to spend his time
locked away in. The tally charts on the walls are of how many weeks and
months he had been staying in this same room for. On the walls we also
put drawings of people which were his family to show the emphasis a bit
more on how much he still thinks of them and misses them. There was urine
on some newspaper that we put down to show the lack of resources he
had to live with. This shows the lack of respect that would have been given
to him.
5. Narrative
We tried to use thee Todorov narrative theory as it showed a clear structure on how to plan
out the sequence of our film opening. The sequence was:
Equilibrium- This is used to show the audience where the setting is based and this is why we
showed glimpses of the start of our film to set the scene.
Disruption- This stage is where the story may take a drastic turn and start showing you what is
happening and giving to detail on what has happened before this. We done this by adding
titles to explain the story of when the event took place and what occurred.
Recognition of disruption- After the viewer has had an insight of what has happened which
is shown in the disruption then now most characters and themes are linked together to make
near enough the full story.
Attempt to repair disruption- this is where the event is tried to be solved and explained. We
done this by showing newspaper articles and having interviews with family.
Reinstating equilibrium- This is where we link the whole story and plot back to the ide at the
start in the equilibrium and all things that weren’t clear are now made sure they are
understood. We completed this by having interviews to answer questions that audience and
viewers may of wanted to know.
6. Techniques
• When editing we tried to make it seem as if it was a story about how people felt
when he was missing, then shows the actual event of when he was found and
then showing the aftermath of the reactions of people of he finding and the
emotion of them. The music we used was a theme that shows the emotion of
each event and the words link in with what the story is trying to tell. We thought
the technique of trying to edit the film as a sequence of events leading up to to
discovery of the victim will keep the viewer engaged with what's happening and
keep them wanting to watch it. Having interviews with the people that were
impacted most from the vent was also something we attempted to do as it would
give you more detail and show you emotion and feelings without actually seeing
them in the editing itself.
The slow pace of the whole opening up until the finding created the eeriness of what
was going to happen and whether they were going to find him or not. As soon as the
neighbour found him the music and pace of the footage increased so the audience
get a feel of how the tension is and what is going to happen next.
