People's Mall in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh is a theme park that was constructed 4-5 years ago on land purchased 15 years prior. It took 10 years to level the land before construction began. Initially only seven wonders were planned, but over time the project expanded to include a film city, water park, amusement park, and gaming zone. Bharat Bhavan is a multi-arts center and museum located in Bhopal. Designed by renowned architect Charles Correa, it was inaugurated in 1982 and consists of galleries, workshops, an amphitheater, studio theater, auditorium, libraries, and museums. 4. BHARAT BHAVAN
Bharat Bhavan is an autonomous multi-arts complex and museum . Bhavan is multi art
centre set up to create an interactive proximity between the verbal, visual and

LOCATION -
Bharat Bhavan is in the Shamla Hills on J. Swaminathan Marg facing the Upper Lake .
Established and funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and opened in 1982 .

5. HISTORY
It was inaugrated by Indira Gnadhi in 1982. Establised and financed by Govt. of
Madhya Pradesh, and run by an autonomous trust, Bharat Bhavan provides space for
contemporary expression, thought, quest and innovation.
ARCHITECTURE
• Designed by well known architect Charles Correa .
• Its contours merge in exquisite harmony with the landscape creating a visual
impact of spacious and national elegance .
• It is a place for contemporary articulation , exploration , reflection and
innovation .
• Charles Correa the architect found here the possibilities of a series of terraced
gardens, which would be seen cascading down to the lake.
• The visitors enter at the highest level and walk down a pedestrian spine,
flanked by a pattern of courtyards, to reach the various parts of the complex.
• Each curve and space defines itself. Each of the part of the building is distinct
yet flows easily one another, linked by meandering paths.

• The natural contours of the site have been used to create a series of sunken courts
and terrace garden around which a number of cultural events are organized .
• The terrace and garden again reflets Correa’s concern with progression through space
the maze or puzzle , where parts are casually relieved and the complex of internal
street act rather like a village layout .
