The stock market refers to the collection of
markets and exchanges where the issuing and
trading of equities (stocks of publicly held
companies), bonds and other sorts of securities
takes place, either through formal exchanges or
over-the-counter markets. Also known as the
equity market, the stock market is one of the
most vital components of a free-market
economy, as it provides companies with access
to capital in exchange for giving investors a slice
of ownership.

SECONDARY MARKET
The secondary market, also called the aftermarket and follow on public offering
is the financial market in which previously issued financial instruments such as
stock, bonds, options, and futures are bought and sold.
The term "secondary market" is also used to refer to the market for any used
goods or assets, or an alternative use for an existing product or asset where the
customer base is the second market (for example, corn has been traditionally used
primarily for food production and feedstock, but a "second" or "third" market has
developed for use in ethanol production).
With primary issuances of securities or financial instruments,
or the primary market, investors purchase these securities directly from issuers
such as corporations issuing shares in an IPO or private placement, or directly
from the federal government in the case of treasuries. After the initial issuance,
Investors can purchase from other investors in the secondary market.

The National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) is the
leading stock exchange of India, located in Mumbai . The
NSE was established in 1992 as the first demutualized
electronic exchange in the country. NSE was the first
exchange in the country to provide a modern, fully
automated screen-based electronic trading system which
offered easy trading facility to the investors spread across the
length and breadth of the country. Vikram Limaye is
Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO)
of NSE.National Stock Exchange has a total market
capitalization of more than US$1.41 trillion, making it the
world’s 10th-largest stock exchange as of March 2017.
NSE's flagship index, the NIFTY 50, the 50 stock index is
used extensively by investors in India and around the world
as a barometer of the Indian capital markets. Nifty 50 index
was launched in 1996 by the NSE.
The exchange was incorporated in 1992 as a tax-paying
company and was recognized as a stock exchange in 1993
under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, when
P. V. Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister of India and
Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister. NSE
commenced operations in the Wholesale Debt Market
(WDM) segment in June 1994.
NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE (NSE)
A decade later, the brokers moved their venue to another
set of foliage, this time under banyan trees at the
junction of Meadows Street and what is now called
Mahatma Gandhi Road. As the number of brokers
increased, they had to shift from place to place, but they
always overflowed to the streets. At last, in 1874, the
brokers found a permanent place, and one that they
could, quite literally, call their own. The new place was,
aptly, called Dalal Street (Brokers' Street).
BOMBAY STOCK EXCHANGE(BSE)
Bombay Stock Exchange was founded by Premchand Roychand. He was one of the
most influential businessmen in 19th-century at Bombay. A man who made a fortune
in the stockbroking business and came to be known as the Cotton King, the Bullion
King or just the Big Bull. He was also the founder of the Native Share and Stock
Brokers Association, an institution that is now known as the BSE. While BSE Ltd is
now synonymous with Dalal Street, it was not always so. The first venue of the
earliest stock broker meetings in the 1850s was in rather natural environs - under
banyan trees - in front of the Town Hall, where Horniman Circle is now situated.

At last, in 1874, the brokers found a permanent place, and one that they could, quite literally, call their own. The new place was, aptly, called Dalal Street (Brokers' Street). BOMBAY STOCK EXCHANGE(BSE) Bombay Stock Exchange was founded by Premchand Roychand. He was one of the most influential businessmen in 19th-century at Bombay. A man who made a fortune in the stockbroking business and came to be known as the Cotton King, the Bullion King or just the Big Bull. He was also the founder of the Native Share and Stock Brokers Association, an institution that is now known as the BSE. While BSE Ltd is now synonymous with Dalal Street, it was not always so. The first venue of the earliest stock broker meetings in the 1850s was in rather natural environs - under banyan trees - in front of the Town Hall, where Horniman Circle is now situated.
